• A Mac, two Capsules of time with different backups

  I have a second gen Time Capsule, which contains my Time Machine backup. I recently bought a 5th generation Time Capsule with the intention to create a new backup, but also be able to keep intact the first.

  I need to be able to release all the space of my MacBook Pro, but also want to be able to access it on the backup of the second generation of TC, but have the 5th generation TC be my new backup every day.

  I was wondering how to fix this without screwing up my current data?

  You can do what you want.

  Copy the sparsebundle to the old TC to the new... and rename it so it does not interfere with the backup.

  Our experience has been to advise against it. Especially it wastes just space.

  If you move files to the TC 2nd Gen, they will be totally lost when the TC fails, which could be tomorrow... it should have been 5 years ago. They proved unreliable due to the overheating and poor diet.

  Strongly recommend against it doing so.

  Copy your files on a USB connected directly to the laptop. You can then run a backup through TM to the new TC.

  The old TC is not worth including somehow.

  Hello everyone

  I recently bought an external hard drive TOSHIBA HDD STOR. E partner 750Go (PA4280E - 5 1HG) with preinstalled backup software Nero BackItUp & Essentials. Unfortunately the software does not work. When I double-click on it to start it, it starts to extract, but after a growth of 10%, there is an error message saying something like "data error".

  How can I get the software? Or where can I get new software that works?

  When I was doing a System recovery DVD with Dell backup and recovery when all steps were completed and finally when he was checking the disc a dialog box appears showing "AN ERROR has OCCURRED". How to get rid of this error?

  Please provide the model of your operating system and Dell. I would also recommend that you try a flash instead of a DVD disc.

  Same problem for me on Windows Pro 8.1. I made a backup of my computer with windows backup; disc of the Moose is 500 MB Standard; then after resizing (smaller partitions) with minitool partition Wizard (because the standard tools of windows 8 will not do the job) and clonning the original drive to an SSD of 256 GB drive with Acronis true image 2014 (because the restore of Windows 8 feature is not able to restore on a smaller drive); I have change the 500 GB and replace it with the cloned 256Go.

  After that; I try to use the windows system backup; french in configuration\Tous signs of configuration\Historique of the fichiers\sauvegarde of system image control panel; because I'm a french user.

  And now; Unable to save my yoga lenovo with Windows backup. Acronis is the only product that can do the job perfectly.

  I installed RCMP 8.6.5 on weblogic 12 c and installation was successful, now, my next task is to integrate this with EBS.

  Basically, I want to use RCMP (AACG and ETCG) for EBS. I have documentation for the same, but the steps are unclear as how to integrate EBS with the RCMP.

  I explain here my architecture:

  -Server Oracle 11.2.0.4 production: prod db with the instance name PROD with RMAN backups on the F: drive

  -Test the Oracle 11.2.0.4 Server: test-db with the instance name TEST with RMAN backups on the F: drive and production available on the G: drive backup drive

  -Customer name: customer

  My goal is to reproduce the production server to the test server instance and I can't achieve this goal. The connection is client-side.

  I do it like this:

  -startup nomount TEST

  -On the client, run the following "rman target sys/pass@PROD auxiliary sys/pass@TEST.

  Then in RMAN, I run the following:

  RUN

  {

  CHANNEL AUXILIARY ALLOCATE ch01 DEVICE TYPE DISK;

  CHANNEL AUXILIARY ALLOCATE ch02 DEVICE TYPE DISK;

  DUPLICATE THE DATABASE TO THE LOCATION OF THE BACKUP TEST "G:\RMAN";

  }

  RMAN does not see my "LOCATION of BACKUP" command because it tries to reproduce the F: drive and can't find the backup files.

  I have the thing like this:

  ORA-27041: could not open the file

  04002 - OSD: could not open the file

  S/O-error: (OS 2) the system cannot find the file specified.

  Single quote, double quote, tried almost everything and RMAN always look for the backup in the F: drive. Can you help me to use the G: drive?

  And at the beginning of this thread someone told me not to connect to the target database.

  You use the clauses unwanted duplicating without connecting to the target database. SPFILE clause is not necessary, but you seem to use it in the block of the RACE.

  Create a simple PFILE with all the parameters required for the auxiliary instance, startup nomount and run the duplicate.

  Also worth db_file_name_convert log_file_name_convert parameters in the PFILE to the auxiliary instance file, run the duplicate.

  When I have the above provision to a user, I have both the user & HR created in the base of the EBS however email HR is not met so that the email of the user only.

  You can add field of the form of course EBS to map supply

  as email - user_email

  Email - hr_email

  What I read in your original post, is that you take a daily incremental backup - Yes? I'm assuming that you also take
  a full backup on a regular basis (Sunday?).

  I was working on the assumption that the foregoing is available? I worked on a project where installation has been similar. We
  tested regularly backups - I hope that you do the same thing?

  What we used to do was FTP (script Unix - cron job - if you Google you will find Python or Perl to do the same thing - that is)
  what I wanted to, but was cancelled - very 1980, anyway) the archived redo logs on to a specific computer that holds only these files.
  After FTP "d - they have been removed from the server, freeing up space.

  Now, you say you have TB 0.5 per day - while more than a week, you will need a machine with ~ 3 TB of disk - if you can get a kind
  the scenario as this place and running, then you will have both your incremental backup and your archived redo logs for the last
  24 hours and the full backup with recovery archived records dating back to this full backup. You can also always archive on tape if
  suits. So, you will have redundant coverage - 'belt and braces' as the Americans say.

  But, to answer your question directly, "take no backup of archive logs have no effect" - that is true - it
  will not affect the operation of the database server, but if I were you, I would hang on to enough archived redo log to return to the
  last backup. That's just my humble OPINION.

• PSE8 catalog with external backup of backup program

  I recently started my computer with CrashPlan backup.

  For the backup of my photos, I of course understand my images in folders.

  But for backup in the catalog, is it enough to save the catalog.pse8db file? All the other files next to the catalog are just the cache all files that can be recreated in case I need to restore the backup, or are there more files associated with the catalog should I back up?

  
  

  Outside the catalog.pse8db file, there is record of BreezeData (which contains information of recognition of persons), file CAXMP (which analytical data of the car) and syncdb file (which contains the current state of synchronization).

  So if you want to keep this information, you need to support these institutions.

  Ideally, you should take backup of the complete catalog folder because it hardly consumes a few MB of space.
