http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Startup-Repair-frequently-asked-questions
Step 2:
I also suggest to make a System Restore the Windows recovery environment (WINRE) and check.
In this case, you will do what is called a 'offline restore'.
Note: while in WinRE, System Restore is not able to create a restore to cancel before any restore point. As a result, undoing a rollback is not supported WinRE.
To use the system restore in the WinRE, follow these steps:
Start the computer by using the Windows 7 installation DVD.
b. on the Windows Installer screen, click Next.
c. on the screen to install Windows, select repair your computer.
d. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Next.
e. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, select the appropriate operating system and then click Next.
Note: If the controller drivers are needed, click Load Drivers.
f. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click System Restore.

h. in her select a restore point dialog box, select a date and time from the list when the computer was working properly, and then click Next.

the judge in the confirm your restore point dialog box, click Finish.
k. in the System Restore dialog box, click Yes.
l. the computer makes the appropriate changes.
Mr. in the System Restore dialog box, click restart.
n. after the computer restarts in Windows, in the System Restore dialog box, click close.
o determine if the computer is working properly. If this does not work, repeat the previous steps and select a date and time earlier.

Hello
1. have you downloaded the stand-alone package for the service Pack 2 or are you using Windows update?2. you also try to install Windows 7?
Method 1.
Run Disk Cleanup and disable the security software and then try to install the same and check.
See the article below for disk cleanup:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.Method 2.
If the problem still exists together own starting the computer and attempt to install the service pack.

amerirish50,
Demarrer start from your XP CD in Recovery Console, and then run the following command
sfc/scannow (you will need an XP CD for this command)
If that is not correct the problem, then you can try to perform a repair installation.

I tried to boot using the DVD included with the computer, reinstall after pressing f12 to boot from the cd/dvd, it gave me the ability to "Repair computer" but is not. In fact I are entered in the comand prompt and ran a chkdsk/f with no result. I tried all the other recovery, repair choice but given the result.
If I press f8 and select Safe mode, it don't go there but will take me to the same window "Windows Error Recovery".
The 'install' mode has the 'upgrade' off function and it is said that it works only with windows.
I can't do a clean reinstall without losing my daughter work... any suggestions?Luis

Hello
Either yourself or a store should remove the HDD and it slave in a system that works to see if the data can be recovered from him. The error message indicates a corrupt installation volume rarely, this can be fixed without deletion and recreation of the volume (and doing so will lose all data currently on the disk). Once the data was retrieved from the Vista installation will have to be redone from scratch.

Upgrade - unable to boot (probably error classpnp.sys) RAM
Hi all
I have an acer aspire 5742G with windows 7 Home premium Edition and 3 GB of RAM.
I bought a Corsair Valueselect 2 x 4 GB RAM together. When I replaced the original/3 GB with the corsair, I was unable to boot windows.
Problem mentioned here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1888966/windows-boot-memory-upgrade.html
Basically, I get an infinite loop of "unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the reason for this... »
1 start windows normally
2 start windows in recovery
These two options are responsible and we're back to the same loop.
After trying to boot into SafeMode (via F8), I could see the start-up hung at classpnp.sys
I put the original RAM dos and windows started without any problems.
Googling has revealed that this problem was already previously, but no solution has been put forward except: put the old memory.
I've updated BIO to the latest version, BIOS recognizes the 8 GB (in original and updated updated version).
Any ideas / suggestions are welcome.
Kind regards
Update and closing:
I went to the shop of pc and we tried the RAM from another manufacturer, ICUDU (2 x 4 GB 1333) and the pc started without any problems. I'm surprised that the manufacturer of the RAM has this impact it could work or not.
I hope that this problem is not encountered by others, it was quite an experience.
However, my conclusions are added below. As I mentioned in the first post, the problem has been experienced before and the 'solution' was a status quo, do not level. This experience taught me that not all RAM is created also. Even the best-known brands may be sometimes inconsistent.
Summary:
Upgrade of RAM 8 GB on an Acer aspire 5742G with i3 - 370 M processor:
Upgrade memory ICUDU (2x4gb) Kit works,
ValueRAM Corsair (2x4gb) - sorry to say - did not work.
Kind regards

I have a linux operating system and I would like to remove it and install windows xp. I'm afraid that if I wipe the drive, I'll be unable to boot the windows xp disc. Is this true? What is the best way to remove the linux operating system and install windows xp?
original title: HOW I CAN UNINSTALL LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM
If there is absolutely nothing on the disk you want, just format the drive and install Windows XP:
1. start from the CD. You may need to change the first boot to a CD device in the BIOS. To do this, when you switch on the look for a configuration message indicating what key to start typing, F2 and del are commonly used. The message appears for very long and it you miss, you have to restart the computer. In the BIOS, look for a section that contains the boot sequence, change it to CD, save it and let the computer to restart.
2. the installation sequence is answering the message press any key to boot from the CD, and then press ENTER to set up Windows, press F8 to accept the EULA, delete the partition, press ENTER, type L to confirm delete, type C to create a partition, choose (Quick) format. Then begins the installation and restart will therefore ignore the subsequent message to press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.
3. actual installation will begin and takes about 30 minutes. Finally, download all the missing Windows service packs and other updates.

Windows recovery disc 32-bit error code meaning version question
Hello
I hope someone can help me. I am unable to boot into windows vista 32-bit, so I downloaded the vista recovery disk and get an oxo error code what it means (thanks in advance)? You don't give any info on what was the original problem with the computer.
You have set the Bios Setup to boot from the CD/DVD drive?
At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.
And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?
Use up arrow key to do this, press on enter.
Browse your Hard Drive manufacturer's website, download software from here and test your hard drive for errors.
See you soon.

HP 15 r036tu: unable to boot from USB
I'm unable to boot from a USB key, I started correctly the USB, it works on other laptops but not on mine. I also changed my boot order in the bios, but still, I'm not able to boot from USB. I read somewhere that it's because of security windows 8.1 can you help me with this. Thanks in advance
The trick to this is to use a utility that will make your USB boot EFI and MBR.
The following link goes to a third party site with free downloadable open source utilities to do exactly that and even more.
