Editing the text in all PDFs

Hello

I am very new to Acrobat and try to edit text in some of my documents, but can't seem to be able to do. I use Acrobat X Pro and I use the tool "Edit the text of Document", but the cursor does not change its text editing cursor. I tried to open other documents in PDF format and it seems that I am able to edit the text in PDF files, but not the text in others. For that I'm editing, I did the function of "recognize text." I can highlight text and even look in the document for some words, but can't seem to change the text. I can choose the text to delete or put a comment in them, but still can not delete a few words/letters & retyping.

It's really frustrating, because these documents are the only reason why I wanted to Acrobat X - if I can edit a few words on them.

Help, please!

Unfortunately, it is hidden by default in Acrobat 10. To access the preflight check, click Tools, and then you will see a very small icon/button in the upper right of the Panel. Click on it and select 'Print Production' in the menu dropdown. The printing Panel opens and you can select the preflight. The document open, select the "Embed" fonts in the list of 'Corrections PDF' and click 'Analysis and fix' button at the bottom right.

Am, change the text in a full color book large pdf file of 296 pages.  Each page has a mix of text and images-I can edit text on each page, but on some pages that the text edit tool won't let me select the text I want to change - as if it isn't there and is considered to be an image, despite the fact that is a separate text box - can not understand why I can easily edit text which is next , but not the text of a few centimetres more far overall. It the tool select text does not work, then it is not text. You really do want to be change the text in a pdf file if it can be avoided at all. It's just a problem ticking. It's ALWAYS better to edit the original document and then regenerate the file. If there are customizations with the buttons and fields that you do not regenerate, so you can replace the old page of the PDF with the new page as a new pdf and avoid all the problems that come with editing text.

  • Pulling on the text of a PDF?

Hello, we are extracting the text from a PDF so that we can make a web edition of all content. Cut and paste out is tedious. Is there an easy way to get the text? Thank you

With Acrobat 8 or 9 Pro: file > export - choose the desired output file format.

With Acrobat X Pro: file > save as - choose the desired output file format.

It helps (a lot) if the PDF file is a PDF containing the reasonably well-trained tag.

Maybe you have inadvertently applied a stroke to your text in InDesign. If the race has any color, InDesign will give a preview of the text even if the width of the line is set to zero.

To test a sample, select any word in bold with the text tool, open the swatches Panel and check that it has any color applied to the race. If there is, it changes to zero.

  • Why I can't select the text in this pdf file

    Hello

    https://rapidshare.com/files/461732149/cannot_select.PDF

I can't select text. When I try to select text, the cursor looks like a helping hand. It seems that there is a layer above the text. But when I use the Editor tool, I do not see any layer above the text. Is it possible to change the pdf file so that I can select some text?

In fact, you should be able to select the text with the Touchup text tool if the annotation link is here or not. What is the tool you use?

If you want to remove links, you can use the correction before the flight "to dispose of invalid links. At least the link in the sample document is not valid, because there is no action defined for it. You can also use the correction of 'Delete all annotations' to remove all the links that are present, even though you can edit or create a new correction to remove link annotations only.

  • editing the text in the string does not change the distorted text!

I have the text in a basic text box. I applied a string in base to give a higher arc. Okay, now I want to change the size of the text.

I select the text and reduce the size of text in the character palette - nothing happens.

I double click on text box that isolates the text, double click again to select the text, drag to select all the text, then reduce the size of the text in the character palette. the Red preview reduced but when I click, the distorted text is always the same size as before!

I'm sure that just by clicking on the text and by reducing the size of the text (in the character palette) worked before...

Try the object > envelope distort > edit content.

The size can be changed by editing the envelope (the text is always dimensionnera to the size of the envelope.

  • How can I change the text in a pdf document using an embedded font?

I'm trying to edit text in a pdf document where the text is in a (Nimbus San) embedded font, but when I try to add some text in the text box, it appears in Minion instead of the police of San Nimbus.  I don't understand why I can't change by using the embedded font.

The fonts are licensed assets subject to single use. They are not intended to share, redesigned, etc..

As part of the PDF standard that they included in a document so that the document can be considered reliably without the police be installed on the viewing station.

To change you must have fonts installed on your computer. The possibility for the second parties to use the police violate the licensing of fonts.

  • Editing the text in an image

How can I edit text in an image without changing the font or colors?

    Hey there mike-tram!

Well, if you do want to change the font or colors in your image, you can change the size and position of your text.

This is a picture I have with a text layer. Right now, I don't like the direction or text size.

First of all, I need to select the text layer. In your layers below Panel, select the text layer.

Select the text tool in the toolbar below show.

By highlighting the text of my text layer with my text tool, I can change the size of my text.

In the toolbar above with the type tool selected, you can see a place to change the size, as shown below. I'll change the size from 150 to 72pts here.

The size of the text below, is now smaller than 72pt.

To change the posistion of your text, select the tool moving, as shown below.

With the move tool, you click and drag where you want the text to be located. You see, below, that I moved it to the center of my image.

I hope that answers questions you may have. Below I've included videos that show MORE options with the modification of the text.

    enjoy,

    Janelle

  • Editing the text in the scanned document (ROC)

I am a newbie, and I tried my best to do it without asking for help, but could only get so far.

I have a PDF file that are scanned pages of text in boxes. All I want to do is change some of the text. I am able to enable OCR so that the text is selectable and recognizable, but obviously not enough actually to change the text. In my view, a plug-in might help, but is not the first person I tried to work.

In the end, I got a page made in opening the PDF file in Photoshop and covering the old text with a white box and the new text. It's NOT ideal! In addition, because it's nice and new, a clear text added with Photoshop, it stands a bit of the unpublished text which is a blur, because it's a scanned image.

Free is always the best and I want to save money, but I can afford buying new software and plug-ins if I have to. Is it possible to do what I'm doing? If so, what version of Acrodbat do I need? If I need all of the extras, what should I expect?

    Thanks in advance.

You must use the Touchup text tool, but do not expect great results.
