  My main question for this discussion is... Why are they not everywhere? Looks like the perfect with a price less $5 000 CAD. Four ports of 1 Gb, port management, redundant PS, Snapshots, RAID 5 or 6 with the Hot Spare disks. He uses ordinary hard drives and they can even make if necessary SAS disks. VMWare has certified the RS16 IP-4 for 3.5 too, so I guess the 8 Bay must work found in vSphere 4. Am I missing something?  They have even a "how-to" to connect the SAN to the ESX host. See the attached pdf.

  Sounds too good to be true. Someone of you know something I don't know? What I forget? These are not spoken anywhere.

  Otherwise, we will watch a MD3000i from Dell for double the price at least.

  FYI, we will initially have 2 ESX host servers connected to it to VM - HA to the license of vSphere 4 Essentials more.

  My thoughts on this vs the MD3000i.

  1. 8 drives in 2U is not look too good when you can get (15) or (16) 3.5 "in 3U or drives 2.5" (24) in 2U.

  2. A single controller RAID vs dual is a point of failure.

  3. Does not say SAS anywhere in the spec, just the SATA, so it is questionable

  4. Said only 2 GigE ports on the card rather than 4 as in the description, it is questionable as well.

  5. Support contract?

  I'm willing to bet that the tightening of the bolts 3 & 4 are a few typos when they have updated the product, but the tightening of the bolts 1, 2 and 5 are breakers of deal for me.  I need to cram in as many axes by RU as I can, several RAID controllers means greater availability, and when it does not break, I need someone here immediately with spare parts (or if necessary complete replacement unit), not a guy randomly on the phone of the India.

• PCoIP solutions SSL

  We have users that connect different remote sites to our mobile security servers. Some remote sites using a firewall that blocks the PCoIP Protocol (4172). The firewall on the remote sites has port 443 open. Anyone has experience with PCoIP on port 443 and possible solutions?

  PCoIP is mainly a UDP, and SSL is a TCP protocol. PCoIP running via a TCP-based protocol is not a good solution.

  If TCP 443 is the only option, and then to view clients that support the RDP Protocol, this can be used in tunnel mode where the RDP connection is encapsulated in the SSL 443 connection. This is fully supported by the view and can be used if PCoIP is really stuck.

  The best solution, if possible, is to get the port 4172 (TCP and UDP) open.

• How to connect my Time Capsule to a WiFi network?

  Happily, I use a Time Capsule for years as a WiFi router connected as a bridge to the router provided by my supplier.

  Now, I'm moving to a place where internet is already provided by an access point in my new apartment and included in the monthly cost of the facilities in this village. The access point is hidden behind the ceiling of my apartment and doesn't have any port ethernet except the one used to get the internet. WiFi which will be available for me is configured by an administrator with the name of my apartment.

  My internet needs TC that the ethernet source and I wonder what I could do to work around this problem. I don't see any option in the settings of TC to connect to an existing WiFi.

  While waiting to move to the new apartment, I did a test by trying to create a scenario similar to the House, for example by using the wifi router of my provider to create a wifi network, then using an extension of WiFi that is connected to A WiFi network and connect my TC via ethernet connected on WiFi extender set up my TC as a bridge and the creation of a WiFi B with my TC that I can use with my devices.   In a Word, nothing. The TC must connect to a network by using a wired Ethernet cable connection. The only exception to this would be a Workbench where you already have a router Apple providing a wireless signal, in which case the TC can connect wireless to "extend" the network.

  This is how the TC must be connected to the network of the apartment. If your extension does not work with the network of the apartment, an AirPort Express could be used to 'join' the network wireless of the apartment, and then provide an Ethernet connection to the Treasury Board.

• Weird problem with headphones Jack Bootcamp

  I searched many forums / tried many things before coming here, but for some reason - probably for the first time I don't see my problem on Google.

  The question:

  Every time I put in the helmet, they show only disconnected in Windows on Mac OS X 10 with Cirrus pilots. Sound continues to play on the speakers. This problem wasn't there yesterday and randomly began today.

  Results:

  1. it is not a hardware problem: headset works perfectly on Mac.

  2. it is probably not a Windows problem: when I install Windows drivers by default, the headphones ARE recognzied (!) (this I do by uninstalling Cirrus and restart the Mac). Of course the audio does not play not (or through speakers or headphones) because these drivers are not used to a Macbook Pro.

  3. drivers are not exceeded - just downloaded software support of Bootcamp and re-installed windows.

  Conclusion:

  It is most likely a problem with the driver for Cirrus, which is weird, because I assume that there is already a forum about this if there is (although someone should be the first I guess).

  I have no idea what to do - Apple support cannot help, Cirrus doesn't have a lot of support and it is not a problem with Microsoft (I guess), the only solution I can think of is to find another driver, which I can't find.

  If anyone has a solution or even a certain direction to a solution as possible, it will be very useful!

  Found the problem: Windows does not recognize the headphones with 1 side does not, no wonder there is no one else with this problem lol.

• Satellite P850 almost nothing works correctly after Windows update 8.1.

  Machine is purchased in UAE (United Arab Emirates) UNITED with Windows 8 installed at the factory. Doesn't have a 3d screen. Doesn't have the capacity of Blu ray.

  I have the following problems: most of the stuff does not work properly after that I updated to Windows 8.1 Although I followed the manual of Toshiba.

  Some of the function Fn keys do not work.

  Accelerator drive HARD does not work. says "caching works correctly", but when I go into the history of the use it has not been used since the day wherever I've updated to 8.1 Windows

  There is NO driver for the built in LAN card (manufacturer Realtek)

  The following solution is possible: uninstall all the drivers/utilities Toshiba and registry clean (with backup of course)

  Go to download Toshiba Driver and select the 64-bit Windows 8 operating system (I guess that's for computers with pre installed Win 8.1 at the factory?)

  Download any supplied drivers and see if everything works.

  (I always download my drivers on Toshiba EU website (no question of machine is bought from UNITED Arab Emirates) because I don't see any difference in the files and Toshiba MEA Middle East and Asia Web site is slow and does not work most of the time.)

• Satellite L30 does not start after the upgrade to 2 GB of memory

  I bought 2 GB Crucial memory for my L30. After removing the 512 MB module and adding two modules of 1 GB the L30 wouldn't start. With only 1 GB start ok ok, with the other boot only 1 GB.

  Either 1 GB modules and module of 512 MB with start ok. The two modules of 1 GB boot not together. Crucial gave up and offered a full refund, but I'd rather have a solution if possible.

  At the BIOS level is 2V30, that I understand to be the latest version available.

  You're right, this problem seems very strange and I wonder why this happens.
  Satellite L30 certainly supports the 2 GB of memory and you should be able to upgrade with 2 x 1024Mo modules!

  It's strange, but it seems that these two modules are not compatible together
  I found Toshiba recommend module on options and accessories site.
  DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G) maybe you could try this one...

  In any case, I don't think that you will be able to solve this problem in another way. The modules must be replaced.

  How have you tried to boot from the drive?
  Have you changed the boot order in the BIOS?

  Startup options are usually available.
  1. you can press the C key immediately after to computer mobile power to detect CD/DVD drive starts
  2. you can press F12 for the boot menu
  3. you will first change the boot order in the BIOS to ODD

  But it s interesting to know if your new ODD is compatible with the laptop

  The webcam driver v 1.1.1.4 is available on the page of the Toshiba driver and it should work properly.
  Did you check in the BIOS in webcam settings is enabled?
