Satellite 2450-101internal screen problem

I have a problem with the screen on my 2450. I contacted Toshiba technical who have said that it is the screen and not the inverter. Video output works very well so I suspect not the graphics card. Is someone can you please tell me if they have experienced this problem with a solution if possible. You can check the problem of screen here: http://domain802099.sites.fasthosts.com/Tosh/DSC00817.JPG

Sorry for the quality of the image.

Hello

Unfortunately, there are not many possibilities.
If the technician Toshiba says s ups not a FL and if the graphics card is not dead so I guess there is a problem with the display.
But there is a diagnostic test detailed necessary for the location of the defect.
I would recommend contacting the Toshiba service again. The technician must check the laptop.

    What would be the problem?

Sorry for the (-), but the forum is telling me that the words were more effective.

    Hey,.

If you are using an external monitor and it s very well, it seems that the card driver and graphic display working properly and doesn t cause this problem.

I think the problem is related to the internal LCD display or the cable of the LCD screen.

In my opinion, you should contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can check your laptop with professional diagnostic tools to identify the problem. In addition, they can repair and order original spare parts Toshiba.

    Hello

    What exactly do you mean?
You can see something on the internal or is completely black screen?

You should try an external monitor on the laptop. So you can determine if the problem is the screen-based internal or graphics card.

In addition if your laptop is still under warranty, you must contact an authorized assistance service provider. They can repair the laptop.

    Hello

Of course there is a hardware malfunction. The best way to know what may be the problem is to contact the Service of your country partner. In my opinion, it may be some problem with FL inverter and it must be changed.

As I said contact Service partner. You can find one under section http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com support & downloads.

    Hello

For me, it's like something wrong with the internal keyboard or only with the keyboard controller.
Maybe it's only one loses the keyboard cable but it's only a sugestion.
Unfortunately, I don't think that you will be able to solve this problem without any help.
I think you should ask the Toshiba service partner in your country for assistance and advice.

  • On the Satellite 1800-921 black screen problem

    Hello
My satellite 1800-921 has started to give me a black screen after I turn it on. It loads well, go to the desktop and then the screen turns white and I can't make it respond. We can just distinguish the dialogs on the screen so I don't know if it is a screen problem or things I see on the screen are just ghosts...
    It's a bit worrying!
Does anyone else have this problem? So far, it seems to happen when I turn it on. Usually, I have to turn it off and reboot to get it back and then it works very well.
    Thank you
    Nancy :)

    Hello

to the old series, it may be that the FL inverter is broken or damaged the tupe of backlight. In both cases, you can see the screen but without backlight!

To differi if it is a hard - or software error, you should start the laptop and ESC immediately to enter the BIOS. Then the machine must be running half an hour in the BIOS. When the rupture occurred it is quite sure that some hardware is broken. Otherwise, it is a software based and a restore with recovery CD Toshiba should solve the problem!

  • How to replace RAM on Satellite 2450?

I own a Satellite 2450-201 and want to upgrade the Ram. The only problem is to know how to access.

    Anyone know?

    Hello

You won't find the memory locations at the bottom of the unit. As far as I know there are only places to drive HARD, battery and slim select bay.
However, this computer has 2 sticks of memory under the keyboard.

    Please follow these steps:
    1. turn off the power to the computer
    2. remove the power adapter
    3. remove the battery
    4. open the screen and remove the small cover at the top of the keyboard
    5. you will find 3 screws. Remove it
    6. carefully remove the keyboard (please don t forget the flat cable)
    7. raise the insulating sheet covering the module memory to appear the module.

Well, it's not very difficult to upgrde the memory and the entire statement, you will find in the user manual that must be installed on your laptop. Chapter 8

  • Satellite 2450 does not start - only in safe mode

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my Satellite 2450 where it is not initialize properly - is stuck in the screen of Windows XP (just continues to scroll through and hangs there).
I can boot into safe mode.
Have not had any other problems with it - no errors, do not have installed/uninstalled anything recently.

Any ideas what could cause this problem?
Do you think I should use the recovery disk to reinstall the OS? Anything less drastic I can try?

    any advice appreciated,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Usually, if the laptop does not start correctly in normal mode, but only in SafeMode because some drivers or / and software applications are false or defective.
In this case, the recovery procedure should solve this problem.
If you n t have the Toshiba Recovery CD, you can install from the original CD of Microsoft's operating system, and then you can try to install stuff together from Toshiba (driver, tools)
These software, you will find on the page of the Toshiba driver.

  • How to replace the hard drive internal on Satellite 2450?

    Hello!
Last month, after a BSOD displayed (I don't have the code of error message, unfortunately) my laptop decided to not work again.
At the start, he reached the start menu and then displays a black screen... no message, no auto restart... nothing. Just a weird noise coming from the hard drive (like a scratched cd).

I tried to format the drive, but without success. After choosing the boot source, trying to read the cd and the black screen appears again, with no message. I checked if the Bay of cd is not working properly and it is. (I think)
So I replaced the HDD in my satellite 2450. A new toshiba ide 2.5 30 GB hard drive. But when I install a new one, the system does not recognize.

The control panel of the Bios says that "no hard disk" is available, and I can not change this option. (locked)
With the Windows Xp cd in the drive, the Setup program runs all properly until the 'select drive' format menu, witch says that no hard drive is recognized (with a new drive hard in).

I don't really know what to do!
Is something missing in this process?

    Thank you for the patience

    Hello

The laptop did not recognize a new HARD drive. Which is one reason why Win XP cannot follow the additional installation steps

I can't say exactly why the HARD drive is not recognized, but the 30 GB IDE should be ok.
I remember one of my friends had a similar problem with the new HARD drive.
Some hard drives have a jumper (3.5 HARD drive and 2.5 IDE HARD drive too)
Maybe you should check if a rider has been set to the right position (slave?).

Check it otherwise that I recommend to test with another new HARD drive

In the worst case the disc HARD controller might be faulty, but it would mean replacing a motherboard

  • To the Satellite 2450-101 DVD drive failure

    Hi guys again...

I have another problem with my old laptop Toshiba Satellite 2450-101 which I hope you can help me with.
The original DVD-rom drive - a Teac DW - 224th - went "off the radar" a couple of times a year and only re - appear in my computer after a re-boot, but he then quickly disappear again.

It is curious that the drive is still listed in device as Manager works correctly.
Would have to be a complete reinstallation to get it back again when the process would start over.

Now during the boot process, a message appears at the top of the screen saying "error Eide...
I bought a new replacement brown-box DVD - RW double layer drive PC World - a Sony IA2604H - and has installed but it's exactly the same thing but this time she is mentioned in as a 'CD-rom SCSI device' Device Manager... which is certainly not.
In both cases, readers are completely dead and does not eject even trays.
Needless to say, it's driving me crazy.

    Can you suggest anything?
    Thank you once again...

You can boot from the bootable CD?

If so, then try to remove the upperfilters and lowerfilters:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx?ID=314060

If you cannot start from the CD, then either:

    (1) the ODD or another component of the motherboard connector is defective / in bulk.
    (2) the original Teac ODD is defective, and the new Sony is not compatible (has the wrong master/slave settings)

  • HARD drive password prompt - Satellite 2450-101

    Hello everyone!...

I am a new user and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions of how I can fix my computer problem?

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite 2450-101 that I recently brought a new battery and the adapter because due to the machine is not used for several months, everything was fine for a few hours!... the screen became 'blue' and I restarted the program, but then, I proceeded to get an error message (forgive me, because I don't remember exactly what he said!) who said something about Realteck? and Ethernet cable error and then prompted me to insert system disk?

Unfortunately after pressing enter the same message kept in view, finally I decided to used the drive recovery to re - start the computer but all I get now is the ' screen of welcome-followed by long pause, followed by a black screen that ask to ceiling "HDD password?

Does anyone know if it is a fixable problem?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

Looks like your HARD drive is locked using a HARD drive password.
I put t know why this password is necessary but if you don t know this password, then your HARD drive is no longer available and you will need to buy a new one.

Eventually it s simply a matter of HARD drive and, therefore, the laptop crashed before this HARD drive password appeared so I think that you need a new HARD drive.

    Good bye

My ex-husband my Satellite 2450 S203, filled with all kinds of viruses, malware, trojans, etc.
Just reinstall Windows doesn t help ever, you arrive to the extent where at the login screen.

I think that is what I have to do a low-level format and I have looked everywhere on the Toshiba site but found nothing.
And your supposed to use manufacturers has llf when you do that.

    I tried:
-I think that every available antivirus and anti malware and anti trojan and they all clued up because that too its virus and other things in there.
    -Reinstallation of Windows
    -Upgrade
    -Decommissioning
    -Formatting (normal)
    -The recovery CD
    -Partitioning and Re-partitioning

    So help me please.

I agree with Akuma, it could be a hardware problem with RAM or HARD drive.
If you had formatted the HARD drive, no can no virus top normally.

Download www.memtest.org Memtest86 and test the RAM with it.
For the test of HARD drive, you can download the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test of www.hitachigst.com

If you have tested the RAM and HARD drive, you can view the results. I am interested in.
