El Capitan calendar gray weekends?!

I saw some other request it work with no responses. Finally, I upgraded from ML to EC and the only complain I have is that weekends are greyed out on the calendar, making you not notice them. Many of us work weekends and these are just as important as M - F days.

Is it possible to change this? Its very annoying! Or someone has a link to where we can apply the fix?

Thank you!

Good afternoon

I tried to sync my iCal with google calendar, and I saw that I must add the google account in system preferences. The problem is that when I try to do, ask my mac for the account details, then I choose what I want to use with this account. When I press the computer blocks and not household to add this account.

It happened right after the update to El Capitan, because before it used to work well.

Could someone help me please?

Hi Glada Fari,

Looks like you got questions, add your Google account to your Mac after the update to El Capitan? You can try to add your Google account in the Mail application, if the problem occurs in Internet accounts. If the account is successfully added in the Mail application, you can then adjust specific sync services you want to enable in the accounts of the system preferences. If you need a few quick steps to add the account in the Mail application, please follow the links below.

Use the mail on your Mac.

• Calendar of events created from Mail populate title from El Capitan upgrade

Hi, since the upgrade to El Capitan, calendar events created from email (hover of dates in an email and more) do not fill a title in the calendar as they did. They used to use the title of the email as the title of the event - not 'new event '. In this case if it is set to fill iCloud or google calendars by default.

Little bored maybe, but it is of course Nice on my old computers using Mavericks/Yosemite do not constantly have to fill in this field by hand.

Is this behavior changed in El Capitan and so normal? I can't find someone else to complain of the it (this isn't the old bug where the title goes to "new event" after changing).

Thank you

Yes. Same question.

• By default, calendar el capitan sleep

Preferences for alerts in El Capitan calendar do not work for all the events of the day.

In the preferencs calendar / alerts / all the events of the day...

I chose the day of the event (09:00)

But any new calendar event, I always create the value default 1 day before.

Is this a known bug and is there a way around it?

Rich

These preferences are defined by the "account", not for all calendars.

As it happened to me when I tried, you can be setting this preference to the calendars "icloud", and then creating an event "on my mac" and see the difference.

If you set this to "on my mac", it should work throughout (at least it does for me).

• ICal El Capitan with event exchange mode do not show

I updated my MAC since 10.9.5 in El Capitan 10.11.3 recently and messed up my calendar.

After my upgraded MAC, all my Exchange calendar items are gone! But luckily, always in the cloud (webmail), which means that the problem is on the Ical. I install my exchange account in the application calendar 2 fantastic and it works perfectly! (see attached screenshot).

The screenshot above taken from the same machine at the same time.

What I had done,

-Delete the account and recreate it in Ical.

-Upgrade the OS 10.11.3 to 10.11.4.

-Reinstall the entire operating system.

All the foregoing with a negative result.

I am currently using the 2 fantastic calendar and hope to fix the problem before I buy the apple software.

• [10g] Best to fill and update multiple calendars work?

I would like to create multiple calendars working and be able to update as needed. Each work schedule would be for 5 years at the most (right now), but it is possible that at some point in the future, I might want to extend that.

A work schedule can be applied to a single resource or group of resources. Each individual belongs to a group of resources. What I think, is that if an individual resource has a calendar of work involved, this calendar is used, but if not, it uses the calendar of its resource group, and if the group does not have one, the default schedule is used. Theoretically, each resource can have its own schedule of work, and there would be probably 500 resources to the maximum. In practice, many resources will have the same or similar work schedules.

Each calendar will be based on one of the 3 standards: all calendars days are working days, on a daily basis, but weekends are working days, or every day except weekends and holidays are working days. (Weeks begin on Sunday and Saturday and Sunday are weekends). The standard calendar would be then modified to create each unique timing as required. For example, if a resource has been used, their calendar is perhaps the standard of works not on weekends and holidays, but could also include a stay of one week in February and stay for a week in July. I'm not sure what the best approach is to define a calendar in the first place and then be able to update an employee decides to holiday (or any other situation that may affect the working days).

In addition, I really want to be able to integrate the working hours, which can vary daily, but would probably would be pretty standard. I don't know if this information is part of the work table, or as something separate to be combined with work table.

My ultimate goal in doing all this is to try to plan a project of great amongst the many resources.

Some examples of data showing where I am so far:
CREATE TABLE     work_groups

cal_id - refers to the calendars table
cal_date - the date of the current calendar
cal_year - the actual year of calendar for the calendar date
work_day - work in this year of work (resets every year, starting from 1 is 0 if this calendar date is not a working day)
work_date - if a day of work, date calendar, otherwise, the date of the schedule for the last day of work (or the first week of the calendar, the next working day)
work_week - the work date work week (numbered from 1, reset each year the first Sunday of the year, before the first Sunday will be the week last year, and the first year of the calendar will be every day before the Sunday included in the first week, until the first week of a calendar may be more than 7 days)
work_year - year of the work date
work_days - day of work shop (except in the first calendar week, before the first shop day is 0), starts at 1 (initially), cumulative (does not reset each year)
calendar cal_days - day of the work date, starts at 1 (initially), cumulative (does not reset each year)

Assuming that the calendar starts on 01/01/2010 (these values are less correct - I just do my best guess to provide the sample data):

Also, I do not know if it would be better to store just somehow days, each group of resources/doesn't work and generate a schedule on the fly as needed, rather than trying to eventually store thousands of dates in the database?

Hello

Interesting problem!

I don't know exactly what you want, however. Are you are looking for a way to answer such questions "resource A001, what are the first 6 days of work or after January 4, 2010?" or "how many working days does have resource A001 between January 4 and January 12, 2010? Post a few examples of the questions that you might ask, as well as desired outcomes, given the sample data you posted.

Is a 'group resouce' identical to a 'working group '?
If a resource moves from one group to another, you need to keep track of historical information? For example, if the resource is A001 not havfe its own calendar and is part of the work_group A Juanuary 1, 2010, but then moves to work_group B July 1, 2010, you will need to answer questions like "how many days have you A001 have in 2010", where it must be remembered that the work_group has apllied calendar during the first half of the year , but work_group Schedule B has been used for the second half?

What I think, is that if an individual resource has a calendar of work involved, this calendar is used, but if not, it uses the calendar of its resource group, and if the group does not have one, the default schedule is used. It seems that the easiest thing would be to save only the base calendar exceptions. In other words, because the employee normally respect the calendar ' no weekend or holidays ", simply enter 5 rows for that particular employee Mark 5 days of work, he will be missed in February. If the emplyoee will work Saturday in June (in addition to its regular schedule), then enter a line for each Saturday in June.

It seems that all lines have the same description. If the description of the issues in this problem, would not better illustrate how this is important, having different descrioptions which appeared in different outputs? However, if the description plays no role in this problem, then why include in the sample data at all?

I don't know if I should have a separate table to define a relationship between a resource or resource groups and a calendar id (each resource or group would be able to assign 1 calendar unique id, although several resources/groups could share the same schedule id), or if I have to add an additional column to each table above to assign the calendar id.

INSERT INTO     calendars

What is cal_id = 1? How is it different from the other three?

CREATE TABLE     workdays
(     cal_id          NUMBER(4)     NOT NULL
,     cal_date     DATE          NOT NULL
,     cal_year     NUMBER(4)
,     work_day     NUMBER(3)
,     work_date     DATE
,     work_week     NUMBER(2)
,     work_year     NUMBER(4)
,     work_days     NUMBER(5)

,     CONSTRAINT     workdays_pk     PRIMARY KEY (cal_id, cal_date)
,     CONSTRAINT     cal_id_fk     FOREIGN KEY (cal_id)
REFERENCES  calendars (cal_id)
);

I suspect that there is a simpler way, especially if there is a regular order to types of day (e.g., people who take vacations outside normally get weekeneds, too).
You may have a table like this, that was a line a day:

CREATE TABLE  days
(       a_date      DATE     PRIMARY KEY
,     day_type    NUMBER (1)              -- 1=Weekend, 2=Holiday, 3=Other
);

INSERT INTO days (a_date, day_type) VALUES (DATE '2010-01-01', 2) /* New Years Day */;
INSERT INTO days (a_date, day_type) VALUES (DATE '2010-01-02', 1) /* Saturday */;
INSERT INTO days (a_date, day_type) VALUES (DATE '2010-01-03', 1) /* Sunday */;
INSERT INTO days (a_date, day_type) VALUES (DATE '2010-01-04', 3) /* Monday - back to work */;
...

Another table (I'll call him work_sched) shows what resources are not working when:

CREATE TABLE  work_sched
( p_key NUMEBR PRIMARY KEY -- Arbitrary Unique ID
,     group_id         VARCHAR2 (5)          -- Exactly one of the columns group_id or ...
,     resource_id      VARCHAR2 (20)          --     ... resource_id will always be NULL
,     a_date              DATE
,     works_on     NUMBER (1)          -- works when days.day_type >= this value
,     remarks          VARCHAR2 (40)
);

To indicate that work_group 'L' is working normally on type 3 days only (i.e., weekends and public holidays):

INSERT INTO work_sched (group_id, a_date, works_on) VALUES ('L', NULL, 3);

(Assume that p_key is filled by a trigger).
The NULL value in the column a_date indicates that it applies to every day, unless another line in the work_sched table. Instead of NULL, mabe some date impossible (for example, January 1, 1900) would be more convenient to specify default values.
Exceptions to this schedule would be indicated by other lines in work_sched. For example, if "12345" is an employee who is on vacation for a week in February:

INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-02-08', 4, 'Vacation');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-02-09', 4, 'Vacation');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-02-10', 4, 'Vacation');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-02-11', 4, 'Vacation');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-02-12', 4, 'Vacation');

And if that employee works Saturday in June:

INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-06-05', 1, 'Fiscal year-end crunch');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-06-12', 1, 'Fiscal year-end crunch');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-06-19', 1, 'Fiscal year-end crunch');
INSERT INTO work_sched (resource_id, a_date, works_on, remarks) VALUES ('12345', DATE '2010-06-26', 1, 'Fiscal year-end crunch');

Where to find the number of days of work, we would join work_sched in days using these two conditions:

ON   work_sched.date           = days.a_date
AND  work_sched.works_on  <= days.day_type

cal_id - refers to the calendars table
cal_date - the date of the current calendar
cal_year - the actual year of calendar for the calendar date
work_day - work in this year of work (resets every year, starting from 1 is 0 if this calendar date is not a working day)
work_date - if a day of work, date calendar, otherwise, the date of the schedule for the last day of work (or the first week of the calendar, the next working day)
work_week - the work date work week (numbered from 1, reset each year the first Sunday of the year, before the first Sunday will be the week last year, and the first year of the calendar will be every day before the Sunday included in the first week, until the first week of a calendar may be more than 7 days)
work_year - year of the work date
work_days - day of work shop (except in the first calendar week, before the first shop day is 0), starts at 1 (initially), cumulative (does not reset each year)
calendar cal_days - day of the work date, starts at 1 (initially), cumulative (does not reset each year)

There is a large amount of denormalized data. in other words, you should be able to easily deduct cal_date cal_year, but sometimes it is convenient store denormalized data.

Assuming that the calendar starts on 01/01/2010 (these values are less correct - I just do my best guess to provide the sample data):

INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/01/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),2010,0,TO_DATE('01/04/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),1,2010,0,1);
INSERT INTO     workdays

INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/03/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),2010,0,TO_DATE('01/04/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),1,2010,0,3);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/04/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),2010,1,TO_DATE('01/04/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),1,2010,1,4);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/05/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),2010,2,TO_DATE('01/05/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),1,2010,2,5);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('12/23/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),2010,250,TO_DATE('12/23/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),51,2010,250,357);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('12/24/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),2010,0,TO_DATE('12/23/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),51,2010,250,358);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/01/2011','mm/dd/yyyy'),2011,0,TO_DATE('12/23/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),51,2010,250,366);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/02/2011','mm/dd/yyyy'),2011,0,TO_DATE('12/23/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),1,2011,250,367);
INSERT INTO     workdays
VALUES     (3, TO_DATE('01/03/2011','mm/dd/yyyy'),2011,1,TO_DATE('01/03/2010','mm/dd/yyyy'),1,2011,251,368);

I tried Googling work calendars, and similar things, but I can't seem to find something that fits my situation. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

I work in 10g (XE).

Also, I do not know if it would be better to store just somehow days, each group of resources/doesn't work and generate a schedule on the fly as needed, rather than trying to eventually store thousands of dates in the database?

That's what I thought, too.

Post some sample data (if it is not what you have already posted), some examples of questions and the right answers you want from each question given that the sample data.

If there is no change, please follow the instructions of this support article to reset the launch Services database. Instead of typing the shell command in the article, I suggest that you copy and paste the web page in the Terminal window. Make sure you only select the entire line. One way to do that is triple - click anywhere in the line.

If you do not already have a current backup, back up all data before proceeding. You should perhaps log out or restart to see a change.

• DTA migration issues

In order to gain visibility for DTA migration issues I've mentioned several times in other threads, I thought I would post a new thread and kick off the coast with two of my favorites:

Events of 'no time' 1) recurring are moved to the previous day. If you look in the .mdb (Microsoft Access) data tables, created by the new Palm Desktop 6.2.2 you will see that these events are stored in GMT, instead of any time you have set. If you're at (for example) EST/EDT, then a "free time" event in GMT will begin the day previous (GMT 5/4 hours located prior to the EST/EDT). Palm Desktop 6.2.2 these events appears correctly (maybe corrected 'on the fly' for a few screws previously known upward in previous versions from the Palm Desktop or Palm devices stored these events), but during the migration to the front via DTA, they appear the previous day.

(2) recurring events which were to "12 months" (instance, father's day, which is the 3rd Sunday of June, is set up by placing the event initial OK Sunday of June and then by setting the recurrence for "3rd Sunday of each month 12") are changed during migration via DTA the Pre, reproduce every month.

These are both very reproducible and took place during three separate migrations of DTA. The Calendar database have been verified by the latest version of DbFixIt and found no problem. The Treo 700 p and Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and now 6.2.2 display them correctly. Only the Pre after migration DTA shows these questions. The Pre is runnning WebOS 1.0.4 and is configured to only use the Palm profile for the backup.

I'm ready to ask for a SOLUTION to these two questions, with these workaround solutions:

(1) to prevent the traffic events "without time" days prior (for those of you at the time of the zones West of GMT/UTC) Please make sure that your pre got your time zone local network, or if not, that you set your time zone manually to match that of your host, before migrating to the DTA.

(2) If you have each year (in fact any interval of more than 9 'days', 'weeks', 'months', or 'years') "byday" (e.g., 3rd Sunday of June) or events (e.g., May 13) "bymonthday", you will need to:

(a) after the execution of DTA 1.1, and before unplugging the USB before, open a window File Explorer and move the file migration.mig from PRE USB key to your computer. After that, you can leave the pre connected or not, depending on your needs. As long as the migration file is not in the USB when the Pre is disconnected, it does not start a data migration.

(b) using a suitable text editor (for example, Wordpad on Windows), do a find on (for example) "FREQ = MONTHLY; INTERVAL = 1"(without the quotes). Inspect the field 'SUMMARY' current record "VCALENDAR" to determine if this is really a monthly event or (for example) "byday" or "bymonthday". If the latter, change the 'INTERVAL = 1' clause' RANGE = 12' (or whatever the actual range is supposed to be. Repetition of finding suspicious items until you are satisfied you have found and fixed all.

(c) save the modified file. Check the file name to ensure that Windows has not renamed it "migration.mig.txt". If so, rename it to "migration.mig".

(d) If you had unplugged the meadow at the end of step one), he re - connect as a USB and copy the file "migration.mig" forwards, in the root of the USB stick. When you do a "safely removing" pre, it will find the migration.mig file and start the migration. With WebOS 1.1, the pre now entertains you with a progress indicator. This is actually very useful, because if you connect the Pre to as a USB key before the migration is complete, it will start a 2nd an and start in double filling your calendar, etc. So be patient and wait until the migration is completed before making any transfer files USB with the Pre.

This procedure should be performed with the DTA 1.1 (or a later version, if later versions don't fix this issue) and WebOS 1.1 (which seems to have solved the calendar gray/frozen screens that had suffered me since the day 1 of pre availability (06/06/09 in the United States).) Please note that this is a problem with the program of the DTA, not WebOS, so it cannot be solved with a future WebOS update (Garbage In, Garbage Out or GIGO as say the). Please note that I am not synchronized with any service, but use the Palm profile as backup.

Now that I feel I have a pretty good handle on getting a solid migration of DTA, I'll probably then address a Google account instead of the Palm profile synchronization and see what falls from that.

Thank you, PDAGuy and Anachronistic, for all your help.

EDIT: I found a new failure in the timing of the front. I'll start a new thread, so we can more easily track it separately.

You can re - install Mail by reinstalling OS X:

Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive

Please make sure that you back up.

1. Restart the computer. Immediately after that the chime hold down the command and R until the Utility Menu appears.
2. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
3. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the volume of the list to one side.

• El Capitan Mail & Calendar

Hi all;

Day 1, I got a Mac (about 2.5 years ago) I sync from the OSX calendar and Contacts with Google that I maintain as main repo for such data.

Now. Recently, I started using OS x Mail to receive emails from a particular mailbox and whenever a calendar event is due I am sent an e-mail from OSX Mail. How can I stop this? I ONLY want to stop mail notifications not popups.

Thank you

I have.

Greetings, ianusg!

It seems that if a setting in the calendar application on your MacBook Pro running 10.11.6 must be changed. Just to be sure I understand, you are wanting only the emails to stop. I'll be happy to help you!

Calendar (El Capitan): define an event alert and notifications -use this article to remove the custom e-mail alert is sent to you.

Be careful and please use the Apple Support communities.

• Calendar in El Capitan can launch applications as scheduled events... No work around?

After upgrading to El Capitan of Lion (10.7.5) - I jumped over the Mountain Lion, the Mavericks and the Yosemite - now I'm missing a very important feature in the new calendar (iCal formally): it cannot launch applications such as events scheduled at set intervals.

I also absolutely do not remove the possibility that it is me who is a bad thing.

In some other forums people suggest to uncheck calendars in iCloud settings and then create a local calendar (and name it for example "on my Mac") who should be able to launch applications and then synchronize the calendars in iCloud again.

Unfortunately, as soon as I uncheck calendars in iCloud, the application calendar itself does not create new calendars at all - local or not.

I'm doing something wrong? If not, is there perhaps a workaround?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Use Automator to create a calendar alarm clock that would launch the applications.

When you open the automate, create a new Document.

Choose the type of alarm calendar.

Stretching the library of utilities in an action to launch the Application. Set this to the application you want to run.

Save it and it will create a local calendar with an event in its operation this alarm clock calendar. You can then handle this event.
