el capitan photo app

I waited for the bugs 'off C.E"- what the 'Community' should say about the ease of use with the new photo app with the upgrade of the El Capitan? As well as... all remaining BUGS?

I got no problem with El Cap.  This includes the photo.app

Always good to have a current backup if you decide to go back.

  • Sharing of photo on El Capitan Photos.app messages blocking the Photos app

    Hello

I notice that when I try to share a photo of the Photos app using some extensions in the share menu, the app will hang finally.  Let's say I want to share a photo of Messages or Notes.  I have a photo, box/arrow icon, select "Messages".  Then I get a small window with the picture in it and may or may not be able to select a recipient before the whole process hangs.

I CAN'T go to the menu Photos.app and do a Quit.  Otherwise the duration of the session stops responding.  Sharing via the email option works well.  Note fails.

It must be rare, as I have searched and not found anything.

iCloud library is enabled, and the storage is not optimized.

    Thanks in advance for advice.

After having this problem for weeks, I rebooted in safe mode to try sharing the Photos app.  It has worked well.  After the reboot in normal mode, including a power off when the normal start hanging around 15% for one hour, the system starts finally normally in "normal mode".  Now sharing photos works again.

I don't know what changed, but something positive happened.

Y at - it a simple method to transfer photos that have been uploaded to the app Photos El Capitan? I want to pick up and place in a folder on my iMac.

  • move el capitan photo library app on external hard drive

    Question:

How to move to El Capitan new library of the 'Photo' app on an external drive?

The picture of El Capitan App behaves like a virus - it takes my computer whenever I plug a phone, etc.

There seems to be no preference to choose which application opens to plug in a device, and iPhoto failed to do not open.

(And selecting the cloud for storage is similar to trust someone else to keep forever, hundreds of concerts my confidential and important data.) "If they were to lose my credit card information, that would be correct.)

I will not "auto-save" my photos on my drive internally, and will not allow 'Photo' me to select one different folder other than the one they chose for me on my internal drive. Whenever I select a folder from the external hard drive in the preferences, it is default to the original destination in the internal drive.

Most discussions on the application of 'Photo' of Apple are extremely difficult to find because the results of a search of the generic name of there new beacon 'Photo' app display the results of all things by the word 'photo' in them. Go to Apple support with the name of their application as the search keyword: "photo".

It seems that the fellows who designed Windows 8 have been able to find a job at Apple. I think it may be easier to move a photo library of Windows 8 at the library 'Photos' El Capitan that moving the iPhotos library.

I don't remember thinking iPhoto needed to be redesigned. Simply not take 20 minutes for the Interior to appear cryptic images. And maybe be able to import large files of k 4, without crashing on every attempt.

PLEASE SEE THE APP "FUNBOX" BEFORE THE NEXT UPDATE OF 'PHOTO '!

in this soft - 128 GB iPhone photos appear in less than a minute, and you have the ability to save large images videos 4 k, voice memos, etc. simply by dragging them to the location desired. The good old MAC intuitive way that attracted us to Apple in the first place.

Perhaps Apple simply tries to leave the free App company.

    RULE NO. 1:

Applications need to be improved - not made obsolete!

One Solution: rename the new 'photo' application in iPhoto. (I'm a genius!)

How to move to El Capitan new library of the 'Photo' app on an external drive?

Select it in the image folder and drag the EHD.  Once there open to confirm a successful move and then remove the pictures folder.

There seems to be no preference to choose which application opens to plug in a device, and iPhoto failed to do not open.

With the trendy iPhone go to Photos and uncheck this box:

Do this for each device you have.  If you have memory cards and reformat them, you will have to repeat every time.

To kill the opening of Photos for all devices use the method posted by JadedEye:

Re: Prevent DEFINITELY pictures of automatic opening

    in response to leonie

OK, it worked for me on El Cap

    Open a terminal window

Type the following in the terminal and press enter

defaults write currentHost - com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug - bool YES

(followed by the return key or enter - ed)

    The exit of the terminal.

Photos will run if you run, but it will not autolaunch on each connection to a camera or the card or reformatted the card.

If you want to return Photos auto-launch almost everything, use the same command change YES no

This correction has set my workflow back to normal without Photos lance all the time.

I will not "auto-save" my photos on my drive internally, and will not allow 'Photo' me to select one different folder other than the one they chose for me on my internal drive. Whenever I select a folder from the external hard drive in the preferences, it is defaulted to the original destination in the internal drive

I don't know what you mean by that last statement.  Are you referring to export photos from your library to the EHD? Or are you referring to place your library on the EHD and its use here? The export window to select any location you want to save to.  By default, it opens to the desktop on the startup disk. But you can select any volume which is mounted by clicking it in the sidebar of the export window:

  • Problems with the photos in El Capitan-cant app drag in other applications and can not find the photos when using Word

I feel very disappointed with the new iMac (27 inch high range) I bought specifically so that I can work quickly with video editing - BUT who currently my old iMac with Snow Leopard on my desk and still use it to create documents in Word, etc, among other things. He really miss the old iPhoto - all about it. Not like the new photos app at all and I was wondering if I can install iPhoto on the new computer? We're stuck with the white background of the screen and do not like the new editing panel either - I had my screen tonic to a shade of gray that is visually not too exhausting to watch as the white. Is there a way to customize the color of the workspace I have forgotten?

I'm not also able to drag and drop photos from the app directly in other applications - this was a great feature that could work very quickly. Can't believe that Apple went backwards with this? Or am I still missed something once?

Also, now, I tried to create a new document in Word and when you open the photo browser to import an image from photos in the document, there is no pictures - all other media is accessible but no pictures, not so to drag picture on the desktop then document - once again, having Apple went backwards , or I'm going crazy?

Hoping that I do not regret this purchase very expensive!

A beautiful (and expensive) iMac. Congratulations.

The latest version of iPhoto still works in (a little hard to get 'quiet' Photos.app) ElCapitan, see a lot of discussions here.

Drag-and - déposer is depending on the applications. There is still work, as usual.

Word is updated to the latest? I heard there were a few problems, but they should be solved now.

    It is said:

    -Update of El Capitan Sierra.

-When the update, I started App Photos and update the library (260 GB).

-A took the Photos App in the meantime round.

-After all the thumbnails update was missing, but the pictures would be accessible by clicking on them.

-Photos App must rebuild now all the thumbnails, but the photos I edited is still missing and even can not be seen by clicking on it (like the non-edited).

    Have you tried:

    -Existing photo editing works

-Edit photos (previous edition) missing persons, sometimes shows the missing picture, but it is not always a new tile.

Any suggestions of how to make the pictures to update modified pictures?

Did you turn on your mac to remove duplicates or similar cleaning applications?  Some cleaning tools are not safe to use.

How do you change the photo in question? She has been published with adjustments to Photos or have you used an extension of photo editing?

Have you tried to take pictures with missing tiles to the original version in the control panel?

  • Move "referenced" in photos.app photos

I work with pictures (photos.app) in El Capitan.

I have a library of "referenced files" - files that are visible in the Photos, but still living in regular folders on my drive (they are not moved to the photo library).

I want to some of them move to another folder, but if I do, I fear that photos.app will lose track of them. I can re - import, but it looks like I'm losing a lot - for example, some are in albums, some have unsaved edits, etc.

Is there a way to move files without breaking the photos?

Nope - Here on several reasons that referenced libraries are strongly discouraged in Photo (or iPhoto) - Photos doesn't have the right tools to manage referenced libraries

  • Photos.app download of my entire library after backup time machine

OS X El Capitan, Photos 1.5...

I've restored my mac from a time machine backup. Now pictures downloading my photo library 63 GB (on my poor 1Mbit upload connection shared with a household of users).

He had already done once before on my macbook, but I just discussed with him and took it to a place that had a speed of fast download for a few hours.

This machine is an imac so I can only do :-(

Why are the pictures reuploading my entire library if it is already in icloud? and how can I make it stop?

Seems that it must have a mechanism like dropbox where it checks if the file already exists in the cloud and then puts a check mark next to indicate that it is synchronized...

What makes it more problematic is the fact that the photos app is not download new content from my photo library until the download is finished... so I have about 5 days of photos in icloud which are not visible on my imac...

I tried searching but the photos.app unfortunately vague name and a ton of articles vague time machine has proved to be an obstacle that cannot overcome my Googling skills.

    Thank you!

Why are the pictures reuploading my entire library if it is already in icloud? and how can I make it stop?

Photos have no way to know if the 'new' restored library is the same as what is stored in iCloud photo library, then it is control a single photo at a time...

You can pause downloading pictures > Preferences > iCloud, and then resume it during the night when it is not slowing down your normal use.

  • Photos app begins when the iPhone plugged into iMac?

Whenever I connect my iPhone to my iMac the Photos app starts.

Is there some setting somewhere to prevent this?

    Thank you

    -Mike

P.S. I use the latest operating systems on all my devices (El Capitan and iOS). I looked in the settings in the Photos on my iMac, my iPhone, iTunes, etc. but have not yet seen anything to change this behavior. I guess I just missed it somewhere.

Fix the iPhone. When photo is open, select iPhone in the sidebar and uncheck the box at the top.

  • Can I really not import the Photos app in iMovie?

    Hello

I use iMovie 10.0.8 on a Macbook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.4. I am the only user of this Mac and its running in standard mode administrator/Overlord. There is no guest user account, or anything else.

I have a Nikon camera, when I import pictures and video of the Nikon, it goes directly into the program the picture of Apple. It is very good.

However, when I want to import photos or video in iMovie he won't let me. I have to physically move the things I want in a new folder on the desktop and then iMovie has no problem to see and import.

Am I stupid? I simply click on the button import into iMovie, look in Macintosh HD but the photos app is grayed out! I just want to be able to empty all in Photos and then import from there, as I want to!

iMovie shows you all the libraries of pictures in the section 'my media '.

    For example:

Click on 'My media', and then click the photo library in the sidebar and wait a bit.  Photos will show you every moment, and albums, ready to drag the photos and clips to the timeline of your project.

My screenshot is iMovie 10.1.2.  You can update iMovie for El Capitan 10-11, 4.

All photos, records, albums etc are stored in the photo library. Are NOT, repeat DO NOT mess with this file, unless you want to make a mess of your photos.
