  • Elements of picture on Mac Lion

    I use Photoshop Elements on my Mac with OSX10.7.3.  Everytime I open the editor of the elements of the last file I was working on that appears, even if I closed it before stopping before items.  This happens even if I have my computer file deleteted. No matter what the file format is either.  It is not too serious, it's pretty easy to close the file whenever I run elements but it would be good to know what is happening.  A reflection as to what could cause this?

    It's just a quirk with PSE and characteristic of the lion for the reopening of your windows to where you left it. For some reason any PSE will always be you back to your last image open, even if you closed before leaving the PSE. You can disable this feature for all the programs in the system prefs > General, or if you google there are many ways to disable it on a per-program basis.

    Hello

    I prefer to use Windows Live Mail, which can be installed under Windows 8.1

    Adobe e-mail Service has a problem (when it works) because you can't easily change the body of the message.

    A common problem with Windows 8.1 is the new Message opens in a hidden state.

    When you see the circle (of death), look at the task bar. The Organizer shows two tasks? Hover over them and the second icon should be back message, right-click on it and choose expand.

  • How can passage of 10 elements 12 elements and the new computer, I connect old albums?

    Our old computer has stopped working, and I had to move our photos from the old computer to the new. The old computer had 10 items, and the new has 12 elements. I have the old directory structure and intact catalog from a backup and want elements of 12 points to the old stuff in such a way that it does not lose the structure of the album that my wife had done. And I need to be on the secondary disk (where it was in the old computer as well) from the disc main hard is an SSD and is too small for all of our photos.

    Is it possible to do? As to enter the name of the folder of the upper part of the old hierarchy somewhere in 12 items? I'm afraid that if I simply import the top-level folder that the old structure of catalogue and album will just be ignored, and we will end up with a big pile of images unstructured (like about 13 000 pictures * smile *).

    Will import images obvious way (when you open a new installed of the elements, he asks to import pictures) don't know the structure of the album, or it'll just work within the hierarchy that was left by items 10?

    The high level structure is D:\Adobe item 10 Pictures, and under that is D:\Adobe item 10 images\Mes catalog and d. \Adobe Element 10 Pictures\...\My Pictures.

    Any help with this would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Well, finally found my own answer. Ran across a display including this line:

    You can test that the copy of catalog is ok by double click (or Mac equivalent) on the file: catalog.pse10db. That should open the organizer with the copy of catalog.

    that gave me the idea to find this file catalog.pse10db. Found, double clicked on it, and the Organizer came with all of our photo albums, etc. and decided, apparently, that's what we want to * smile *.

    So all's well that ends well.

  • Item does not appear on site online.

    I moved an element w/picture of the text box fill ((bkg transparent)) previously on my landing page of the site down, top to the left. He disappears with the effects of roll and opacity. No matter what I do - it's on the top layer, it does not appear.

    Here is the site now - www.affinitiv.tv - the issue is the frills w / the 'Scroll Down' down to the center of the page.

    I made the change to move it to the right of the bird with the ipad, but it is not visible whenever I saw the page or the site in the browser.

    I deleted the original item and recreated, but same problem. Stop Muse and computer - but no change.

    What is the problem with that? And if others have had the problem.

    I notice also other glitches that I've wasted time trying to find workarounds for.

    Hello

    Issue seems to be with opacity in the effect of scrolling settings. Fade 2 is set to 1Px, so by default, it will be 0% opacity when the page is loaded.

    Please make any changes to the screen shot below and you should be all set.

  • Digital magazine publishing

    Hello

    I am a beginner with the digital edition and can't find the answer I'm after, mainly because I'm very new to all this.

    I start my own magazine digital only person on a very tight budget, I created in InDesign with a subscription to creative cloud. I have a site where I want people to be able to download the magazine, but I don't know yet if this is possible with the DPS or if it must be sold through the app store. Can someone tell me please in the right direction? I have a subscription to Lynda and can access all the tutorials but I am unsure of what I should look at in terms of publishing the file distribution once my InDesign file is ready to go.

    I made which relates to downloading my test for the producer of folio file, but I don't know where to go to from there. My only option to build an app for the magazine must be read? Is there another way to look at the file first? I used the Adobe Content Viewer, but I have a lot of interactive elements (scrolling pictures, YouTube videos integrated, slideshows, buttons) and animation that do not appear in the content viewer.

    I feel like a big step which is probably right in front of me I miss him! I appreciate really all the tips to avoid travel. Thank you very much.

    I have a site where I want people to be able to download the magazine : this is possible with DPS Enterprise edition, do not use DPS unique edition/CCM. In addition, it needs Apple iOS Developer Enterprise License as well.

    Is my only option to build an app for the magazine be read : all supported overlays and interactivity is visible on Adobe Content Viewer on iPad. If it does not work in STROKE, most likely it will not work on the app.

    Since you have CCM, you can create applications to copy and will have to submit to the Appstore for intensive distribution or individually add up to 100 s UDID in your files Mobile commissioning for distribution to specific devices.

  • How thumb code scroller for images, set its different widths and heights uniformed?

    I am pile trying to organize the images of variable width to be evently spacer of xml file in the thumb wheel.

    I probably miss something in this code sigment:

    The resizing function

    parameters

    required: mc = the movieClip to resize

    required: maxW = the size of the box to resize, or just the desired maximum width

    Optional: maxH = if you want to resize area is not a square, the maximum height. by default must match maxW (so if you want to resize to 200 x 200, just send resizeMe (image, 200) or once 200 ;)

    Optional: constrainProportions = boolean to determine if you want to limit the proportions or tilt the image. set to true by default.

    Optional: centerHor = centers the displayObject in maxW region. set to true by default.

    Optional: centerVert = centers the displayObject in maxH region. set to true by default.

    function resizeMe(mc:DisplayObject,_maxH:Number,_maxW:Number=0,_constrainProportions:Boolean=true,_centerHor:Boolean=true,_centerVert:Boolean=true):void {}

    maxH = maxH == 0? maxW: maxH;

    MC. Width = maxW;

    MC. Height = maxH;

    If {(constrainProportions)

    mc.scaleX < mc.scaleY? mc.scaleY = mc.scaleX: mc.scaleX = mc.scaleY;

    }

    If {(centerHor)

    MC.x = (maxW - mc.width) / 2;

    }

    If {(centerVert)

    MC.y = (maxH - mc.height) / 2;

    }

    }

    You want to set the height of a specific value... it should be as simple as

    MC. Height = a specific value

    mc.scaleX = mc.scaleY; This will make the width proportional to the new height adjustment

    but it must be done after the image is finished loading

    as regards the addition with a uniform spacing goes, you must determine where the right edge of the last image and add the space betwwen to set the location of the one currently being added.  If you add that these s mc to a container movieclip, then the width of the container must be data very useful to determine where is the right edge of the last mc.

  • Help understanding image size

    I'm new to Photoshop Elements and would appreciate that I could get help or be headed in the direction where to get help.

    The questions I have are have to do with the size of the Photo.

    1. when someone sends me a picture as an attachment to an e-mail, the photo is so great sometimes that, in my view, that I need instructors who is several times bigger that I must be able to see.  I don't think it's something on my end, but their.  They have can do so that the image is a normal size when I received it?  Normal size, which means 4 by 6, 5 7-8 by 10.

    2. I am learning how to make ebook covers and dvd.  When I put them an image in photoshop elements, the pictures that I took are larger than the dvd cover or ebook.  In case the image worked, but he was part of the image that went beyond the size of the image.  When you print, left just ignored this isn't a problem?

    3. in one case, the image was great for work.  What would be the best way to make the image smaller?  Can I do this before you import it into the project, or can do in the draft?

    4. should I use photoshop to resize the image, or I should use something else?

    5. If I buy an image from a photo website, and I don't know exactly how I will crop in end-use, [and I saw more the image more they cost] I have to buy the bigger picture I think I could use and then crops according to the needs?  In order to avoid buying small and then realizing that I needed the next size.

    I appreciate any help you can give me.

    Thank you

    #1: to see the whole picture in PSE, use the view... To adapt to the screen (or press the CTRL + keys to 0).  You can tell your correspondent to resize the image at 8 x 10 (or other) before they emailed to you.

    #2: basically, the unused portion of the picture is ignored.

    #3: when you transfer a project image, there a bounding box with corner around it boxes.  Simply drag one of the corners for re - scale the image.

    #4: use the PSE.

    #5: you are right - buy the biggest size of picture, you think you need and he re-size down.

    See the help files for the PSE file menu item... A place that evokes the benefits of putting in images like "Smart Objects", give us another question if you want more explanation on this subject.

  • What is the best way to update the references to file after a move?

    I have a Photoshop Elements catalog picture with about 25 k images all pointing to a network share I call \\thehive. I moved, or sync'd if you want, all the files in the network share \\thehive on a drive of local storage for better performance, which is now located on P:\ drive. I intend to treat the P drive as my main drive that reads the catalog and use \\thehive network simply as a clone of the P drive that I intend to keep in sync with SyncToy. I have already all this configuration in place, the files are sync'd on the drive P and \\thehive, everything works as expected so far. But how to do to update the catalog so that it starts from the P drive instead of the \\thehive? A photo today points to \\thehive\2008\somepicture.jpg, and I need to point to P:\2008\somepicture.jpg.

    I'm a very advanced computer user, I could edit an XML file or do some advanced operations not supported if I had to. Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

    The fastest way is to directly edit the values in the catalog.pse9db database.  The database is a database SQL Lite, so if you know (or know someone who knows) how to run SQL queries against a database, you have the chance because Adobe has done a great job of a highly normalized database schema design.

    I highly recommend this tent first on a copy of your database.  In general, the procedure goes like this:

    1. Add one of your images on the P: drive in the catalog.  This establishes a list for the P: drive and its identification in the volume_table table.
    2. Run a SQL query on the table of volume_table to see a list of all the lines.
    3. Note that the values in the column 'id' for your volume "the thehive" and one "P:".
    4. Run a SQL query on the media_table table to update the value of the id_volume column, replace all instances of the id number "the thehive' with the identification number of the reader"P: ". The SQL query will look something like this:

    Update media_table

    Set volume_id = "."

    where volume_id = "."

    I tested with PSE9.0.3 on Win7, changing the location of a CD on my E: drive on a USB on my F: drive.

    Good luck!

    Your photos are stored on your hard drive.  At least that - during the uninstall process - you check a box (I don't think there is) to remove images - they will be stored on your hard drive in the s place x even as they were before.

    Note that you can work with two screens and drag and drop the image to display on the other window.

    I think you mean working temporarily with the window enlarged image without displaying all the tools and panels.

    See:

    Panels and bins in Photoshop Elements

    My advice: take the time to read the above help and especially to look at ways to maximize this window if you are on Mac or Win.

    Set your preferences in the Edit menu to "allow the floating windows in expert mode.

    Use the "tab" on the keyboard key to hide or show your panels and tools quickly.
