EliteBook 8440p: Elitebook MB error starting on docking station!

I have Elitebook 8440p and docking station.

Docking station works well - because of the other laptop works fine with it.

When I restore default BIOS or Hard reset BIOS - to the first laptop runs on the docking well.

But next time, laptop does not start on this Doc station - 'caps look' and 'numlook' will Flash 5 times (such as error MB)

And without docking station, everything works fine.

I'm starting separately witouth laptop docking and after I put on the docking station.

It's very uncomfortable disconnect the laptop with reset every time! (

And launch on the doc for several station are second slover - is this normal?

Maybe there is a problem in ME BIOS region (last F.50)?

One, a crazy idea?

Yes! A lot of things ME region.

I assembled new BIOS complete with own Intel ME region and first start on Dock Station and everything is done!

Now everything works. AMT/vPro, TPM and Doc station.

P.S. Does anyone have Original Full Flash Bios (8MB) for the flashing material?

    Hello world

I just got another strange problem: two laptop computers (X 60 and X 61) are not
Boot (Win XP) in their docking stations: after the XP Logo screen display

stays black and there is no activity on the HDD (I waited for approximately

30 min); I also tried to start inside without a docking station
LAN connected cable, but it also did not work.

If you disconnect the laptop and start them out docking stations they
startup (Win XP) fine. When the logon screen is displayed that you can put back them
in docking stations and work with them as usual without any problems.

Is there a special driver to be installed or what should I do?

    Thank you
    Loathar

    (1) starting the laptop outside the mooring station, plug it in before logon

    (2) download the latest "Intel Matrix Storage Driver" and extract it
    to a new folder

    (3) open the - Device Manager and goto the "IDE" or the "storage"-controller, "".
Select your SATA controller and click on the 'pilot' - button.
Finally select the folder of destination (2) update the driver.

    (4) restart the system, check the BIOS for "SATA = AHCI"-framework and everything ".
    should be good.

---> Install this driver via 'update-system' not always seems to work fine!

  • A HP Elitebook 8570w fits on a 90W Docking Station A7e32AA?

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to connect my Elitebook 8570w to an A7e32AA Docking Station. In the description on the HP website (http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10432926-) it says that the 8570 p doesn't work on it.

And I read that the 8570p and 8570w have the same docking connector (spring of other available docking stations that work for both of these laptops).

Can someone confirm or deny this?

    Kind regards

    Hello

I'm sorry. If you want to only use 150W PSU for the docking station then no problem, but if you want to use 90W PSU for your machine (which needs 150W) 90W can't drive your machine as expected.

    Kind regards.

  • HP EliteBook 857w: docking station HP 90 w, supporting two monitors

I am currently working with an EliteBook 8570w on a 90w docking station.  I have an external monitor and the laptop lid open for a second, more small monitor.  I would plug a second external monitor and continue to use the laptop when the lid is open for e-mail.  I can't find a definitive answer on whether Yes or no this is possible and what is the best configuration to achieve the desired final result.  Right now, the external monitor is connected to the VGA port.  The second monitor has both DVI and VGA ports so I could continue the path with the cord or an adapter that would work best.  It is best to connect the second DVI or DisplayPort monitor on the docking station?  What installer, if necessary, would allow me to keep the 2 external screens and the open laptop monitor?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

Thanks for joining the Forums today!

While using your monitor 8570w, when it is connected to a docking station (we tested this using an advanced docking station) there are two valid configurations for three independent displays. You can connect two additional monitors through DVI or only a monitor via DVI and the other through display port. It's using the advanced docking station.

If one of your VGA monitors should still work the same as above.

Here is a link to an image of an adapter, you can use to connect via display port: http://img.misco.eu/resources/images/products//100/HWP/FH/FH973AT/FH973AT_6_1600x1600.jpg

    Hi McJordan,

HP laptops don't keep charging the battery when it reached 100%.  Gennerally speaking, if the battery is equal to or greater than 95% charged when it is plugged in, the laptop will not charge the battery more far.  Load will occur only after the battery went down below 95%, and only then it will be up to 100% of load, then stop.  It is true, with or without the docking station.

My own Probook, is currently sitting at 97% available (sector, no charge) as I write this.

There are two things to keep in mind when you use a docking station with a laptop, one is that the heat is the enemy of batteries and other components in a notebook, then make sure that the laptop is overheating not ensuring that the vents are clear and clean and there is adequate air circulation around the laptop.  Also if you mainly use Notepad in the dock so it is still connected to an electrical outlet, at least once a month, take out the laptop from the docking station and allow him to use the battery up to where you will get the warning you need to plug it in, then back into the docking station and leave the battery recharges 100%.

I also recommend to consider the following two documents for additional advice on maintaining the performance of the battery:

  • Docking station issues with power - power of the outdated USB hub

We get an outdated 'USB hub power' error on my docking station with an E7440 anchored in it.  Worked fine, since I have received the device, but all of a sudden it-error when I try to access any flash drive.  Swapped out with a new one, number the same dock.  Also swapped power adapter, also with no effect.  Any ideas on the problem or resolution?

  • No sound from HP - 8560p, windows 7 64 bit elitebook docking station

I was issued a laptop Elitebook 8560p for use with a 90 W HP Docking station at work.  When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, the port ' audio out ' of the docking station does not work.  The sound continues to come out of the computer laptop speakers, or, if I plug the headphones into the headphone for laptop, it comes out of the helmet.  Plug the headphones into the Docking Station does not all the sounds (either of the two audio ports - in or out).  When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, no additional reading device does appear in the audio menu - just an output HDMI AMD (disabled) and speakers (activated).

The speakers/headphones on the laptop works fine, the problem is just that the docking station is in no way "replica" or the audio output support and it's as if the port of the enclosure of the dock just weren't there.  So, I could use my headset by plugging directly to the laptop, but this really seems to defeat the whole concept of a docking station.  All other ports (video, usb) seem to work on the docking station.

    I am running Windows 7, 64-bit.

I reinstalled the sound driver (for laptop) so that the laptop was plugged into the dock.  That did the trick.

  • HP Elitebook 840 G1, G2, G3: Showing empty HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station

    * It seems to connect has a new dock in a configuration that we already know works fixed whatever issue the dock. After connection to a working configuration, we can move to some other computer/editing we need to, and it continues to work. Not a real solution irritable, but it seems to work.

When you try to use an adapter Displayport to VGA or DVI DisplayPort cable / to connect a HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station to an external monitor, the screen comes up with no signal and goes to sleep. Connection with a VGA cable, it works very well. We have been able to reproduce this problem with several new, fresh out of the box docking station. The problem occurs on all monitors that connect us, even those who work with the other Docks to see.

It seems to be the topology of Displayport Intel is picking up on the screen and making it so that the displayport cannot be enabled without connect 3 screens.

The old version of the Ultraslim Docking station that had 1 displayport seems to work very well, it's just the most recent version 2013 which has 2 displayports who has this problem.

Does anyone know if there is a newer firmware or where I can disable/stop the topology Displayport to pick it up a monitor and try to do 3 screens? If this isn't the case, we will probably have to go back to USB adapters and those who are no funny.

  • Removable disk does not remain mounted (HP EliteBook & advanced Docking Station)

    Hello

I have a 8560 that connect me to HP 230W Advanced Docking Stations to each of my two workplaces. The 8560 p has a SSD drive and I use an identical SSD in the Bay of the docking station, which I use for automatic backups (I spend the SSD between two docking stations when I move locations) eSATA.

It works very well at the start. After loading the disc, it is recognized by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and presented as an "external drive" in the application of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology against the port of relevant (3). I can also see it in Windows Explorer and use it and work of backups when manually initiated.

However, after a period of inactivity SSD in the docking station is 'removed' by Intel Rapid Storage Technology (pop up says that he has been removed from Port 3). If I go into the application of the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology, it reports the port (Port 3) as 'empty '.

I have to remove and reinsert the SSDS to get the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Windows technology to recognize it again. It means always to my backups automatic (they are planned for the night) in case of failure.

How to stop the disc being dismantled? I need that remains mounted until I have to physically remove or disconnect the laptop.

I am running Windows 7 and have applied all updates of current Windows (using Microsoft Update) and HP (using HP Support Assistant).

The SSD is a Crucial M4-CT512M4SSD2 (512 gb) firmware version 0009 (I'm aware that this is a firmware updated version and am upgrading, but don't think it is relevant to my current problem)...

    Thank you

    Nigel

    Problem solved.

The issue was the Crucial SSD firmware.  V0009 I had apparently has a known problem with the recovery of unexpected power loss.  When the laptop slept or the HD has been disabled by the energy saver, it was not handled properly and the SSD froze.

The SSD to 0040H firmware update solves the problem.
