EliteBook 8460p: WWAN Sierra Wireless Module

Hello

Can anyone give me the link for update my drivers of WWAN Module HP un2430 for 64-bit Windows 10 platform or the update isn't out yet... If Yes, then pretty close when it comes out? The reason why I asked this question is because my module drivers Windows 8.1 is not compatible with Windows 10 so the wireless with no signal, so does not work.

I've used Windows 8.1 64-bit but am now on Windows 10 64-bit for my EliteBook 8460p. The module hp un2430 worked perfectly when I used Windows 8.1.

Finally, on the other hand if there is a patch that is useful to let the thing working please let know me.

Thank you, in advance for your help.

Jamie

Oh, I solved the problem myself... I can now connect intracellular... Detective Conan.

  • VPN with Sierre Wireless Module connection does not work in a constellation

Hi, I use my laptop several times outside the office. If I have the ability to connect via WLAN or LAN, everything works fine.

I use the Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.07.0440, the built in Sierra Wireless Mobile Broadband Network Adapter Version 14.11.1050.69 driver.

I'm liviing in Austria and I use the network 3 G/LTE auf "drei". I've been in contact with the customer of the "drei", they checked whether there are Port restrictions. If I put the SIM card in my smartphone and use my laptop via WIFI and a WLAN access point provided by my smartphone everything works fine. If I put the SIM card in my laptop Toshiba internet works very well, but I'am could not join my business network. The Cisco VPN Client is able to authenticate with the user name and password. The VPN connection is safe, but if I use ping to check if I can reach the server, I have 100% packet loss.

Any ideas I can try to fix this?

According to your statement, the laptop could be connected to the internet via 3 G networks.
However, the VPN on the 3G network depends on the State of real network (coverage, signal strength, etc.).

You, like the rest of us, will have to wait Windows 10 becomes a release for the manufacture of operating system.

It is currently only a technical preview and has no support any manufacturer. When he was released, manufacturers will respond and we will know what hardware devices will be supported.

You can always try to install the ADSL of Sierra Wireless HP un2420 Mobile "Driver package version 3.5.1308.3911" in compatibility mode.

  • HP ZBook 15 G2: No wireless Module in charge (703)

    Dear HP support,

I reacently bought a WWAN Module and installed in my laptop, but I always get this message when I do a hard reset or turn on my laptop:

"Not supported Wireles module". "System a dected a wireless Module installed in the system is not taken in charge and disabled." "WWAN Module ID (703). "Enter - boot to continue. "For more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup '.

But I don't understand why the Wireless Module is not supported for the WWAN Module that I bought is the: HAWEI MU736 HSPA +. Which is simillar HP hs3110 HSPA + w/GPS WWAN Module, which is also a MU736 HSPA + w/GPS Module WWAN.

Note: Given the WWAN Module installed prevents me not to boot into WIndows.

    Same compactable modue:

    https://www.Swisscom.ch/en/residential/help/Loesung/UDM-compatible-WWAN-modules.html

It is also compactable with my laptop:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04128290.PDF

I thought it might be a Bios problem and thus updated my buios to the latest version and also installed the drivers nessary for the WWAN Module.

    BIOS link: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6978815 & swItemId = ob_159508_1 & swEnvOid = 419...

I then thought that mabey this is not included in the white list of the HP Bios, but I don't see a reason why it is not included because it is compactable, come with an ID of the FCC and the FCC do not apply to me since im in the Netherlands.

So I'm stuck little because it does not detect windows Device Manager, but he knows that it is installed.

My laptop specs are as follows:

So HP support and developers team can give me a sollution to this problem?

Can I get a new update of the BIOS, so that the WWAN Module is accapted?

    Thanks and regards,

    Paul

Hay Bagusak and someone another faceing the same problem,

I was able to sove the problem of the "Wireless module not supported (703). The way I solved it was to:

Updated my BIOS and talking with a professional of the HP for their support to the company, who gave me a replacement for my WWAN card.

    In your case:

The card WWAN (1000) Qualcomm Gobi you probably bought probably isn't that contains a series of HP, and so it is then listed by the BIOS of HP as a WWAN card that can not be used. Even if your WWAN card is listed as a support for your device if it doesnot have the connect HP series and firmware contained in this topic. The BIOS of HP laptop computer will be automatically 'white list' it. This inturn prevents even appear on my laptop "Device Manager" and making it unusable.

So, you have the following options:

    1. try to return the product and get your money back. After doing so you can go to ebay and buy one of the cards that are supported by BIOS HP laptops (you can align if they work with your laptop by contacting the seller).

EBay page for purchasing HP Qualcomm Gobi WWAN cards (1000)

2 you can set up a deal with HP (if your laptop is still valid) and state the problem you are faceing card top debit MOBILE. After doing if you need to convince them to give you a different card WWAN (need normally 1/2 days so that it reaches your home, depending on how their wherehouses are far from you).

    Support HP case manager

(NOTE: you will need your ID of warranty, this can be seen by installing HP Support Framework on your pc/laptop HP.)

3 you can go to the following website and check if your laptop has a 'white list of the BIOS", if yes, then download and istall the BIOS. This tour will allow you to use any WWAN card that can fit in your WWAN Module.

    White list your BIOS

Alos if your BIOS doesn't is not yet whitelist would change tutorials to unlock your BIOS, but please don't you can BRICK your laptop / PC when you do this so DO this at YOUR OWN RISK.  or you can also ask one of their modulators to unlock your BIOS for you, although they may ask for a small donation in the process of.

4 perform a hard reset of your laptop by: blocking you laptop / PC, remove the battery and disconnect the battery of your BIOS after doing so, press the power button for 5 seconds (drain all remaining electricity). Then install all the material to him, State of origin and turn on your laptop / pc. It is a very simple step and can run.

In the case, I hope this helps.

  • EliteBook 8460p: DisplayPort does not connect

I connected my new HD monitor via the VGA input with no problems.  When I connect the laptop to the monitor using a DisplayPort adapter to DisplayPort cable and the monitor DisplayPort mode no connection is established.  My graphics cards are DameWare Development mirror driver 64 bit and Radeon HD 6470 M.  The monitor is an ASUS VE278Q. Is there a setting on the laptop that I need to activate the DisplayPort?  I guess that the cable connection should be sufficient for the monitor to the laptop.  Any help is very appreciated!

    Hello pmoo,.

I have also an Elitebook 8460p (AMD Radeon HD 6470 M GPU) running Windows 7 (Enterprise), with an external HP 2511 x, LCD and * only * crossed a sceanrio simliar you did: I had problems to get a picture on my monitor when connected with a HDMI cable.

To clarify, I actually use a docking advanced (230W) which has connections 2DVI & 2DisplayPort at the rear; I use one of these DisplayPort connections with a DisplayPort-> HDMI dongle to connect my HDMI cable to the monitor. If you connect directly to DP your laptop, this behavior * should * be the same...

First of all, let me start by how I 'fixed' my question (your mileage may vary):

    1. I still think that it was a timing issue with me: the monitor and the laptop should be ISOLATED. Connect the cables; Turn on the laptop first, but make sure that the lid is CLOSED. THEN turn the monitor on.
    2. Have the most recent drivers can't hurt; Make sure that you install them before connecting the external monitor.
    3. CABLES CABLES CABLES!   Always check the wiring and try another HDMI cable if you have one.
    4. Make sure the connections themselve are nice and safe: in my case, the HDMI connection on the monitor was a bit sloppy (brand new monitor).
    5. And just stick to it... (im also confused as to why it took so long... > I spent 4 or 5 hours until what it worked..).

Now, let me detail that I got here:

My connections: I had my system & monitor off, and after removing my my docking station DVI connector and the monitor, I plugged my DisplayPort dongle to my dockign and plugged the dongle to the monitor using a HDMI cable. I fed my monitor & notebook (with cover open notebook in case I had to update the drivers, activate something, etc.).

Tried to activate the mointor: I right click on the desktop to open the control/display panel / 'Screen Resolution' UI and interpreted by "detect": nothing: he showed the "integrated monitor' for the laptop and a generic monitor, but I don't see my monitor HP 2511. I have done several times, and finally, after some trial and error the right monitor #2 (HP 2511) appeared as a second monitor.

I tried to "Extend desktop" for two monitors; but this only * partially * worked; I could see that the mointor received a signal because she was out of 'sleep' (the power light went from orange to blue (active))... but there is no image on the monitor (!)

I've then updated the software and drivers for my laptop for the latest news from hp.com for laptop (3.20 - 130911 A - 164036 C (20 December 2013):)

Note: "solves a problem where the system does not detect external displays properly when the system is connected to a docking station with 2 attached external displays and the lid is closed the system."

Well, I said: nothing to see new drivers... so I installed them.

However, even after installing the drivers, no. picture on the screen... I saw that it was getting a signal (did not sleep), but does not display anything.

NOTE: I did this with my laptop open cover...

I have so I checked the wiring; Brand new DisplayPort HDMI cable...... quite new dongle so I reversed the HDMI cable, tried another cable...

    Yet, nothing...

    Finally:

    • Back to the 'screen resolution' UI, this time I made sure that the Office was NOT extended to the #2 monitor (external monitor).
    • I have powered off the COAST of the external Mointor (I could here the PnP event for the monitor).
    • I have closed the lid of the laptop.
    • Double check all connections again (and again! they are capricious!).
    • I then On the external Monitor; I heard the PnP event for the monitor... and... PHOTO!  The external mointor now had an image.

I hope this helps... it of just me and not of HP.

    Hello

You have a few options in my opinion please try these steps can help you solve your problem.

    (1) disconnect the battery & adapter then press on & press and hold the power button for laptop for 30 seconds then switch on and check if the wireless led lights.

    (2) go to Device Manager then uninstall the drivers wireless network card and restart the device and check if the light is on.

    (3) try to do a system restore to the date where unit was working fine.

    (4) Please update the Bios & Wireless driver from the HP website.

    (5) click on start search type Recovery Manager, and then click on it once select Yes on user access control, and then select I need immediate help and then select driver and select request recovery driver wireless and install it and then restart the device.

    (6) If you are comfortable with reinstalling the wireless card that will be on the rear panel of your device you can try this steps as well.

  • HP Elitebook 8460p: is my power supply dead/dying?

OK, so for Christmas, I got a HP Elitebook 8460p. Everything was fine, except that on the 3rd day, something terrible happened.

Day 1 (Christmas): the laptop set up, new installation of Windows 7. Minor only freezes occor all seconds for half a second about. "Upgrade Bay" does not work, made just 2 short grinding noises when closed after opening

    .

day 2: even freezes. That night, I run a disk check before going to bed. (Don't ask me what are the results, because I fell asleep during the test)

Day 3: incredibly slow Windows now. Starting about 15 minutes, and answers may last from 1 to 5 minutes, never even.

Symptoms: my HARD drive light is constantly on, however I ran many tests my self and even the player was tested for possible errors and he spent everything. Running Windows from a disk external DRIVE is fine and going at normal speed (for an external that is). When I push the switch down to close the laptop, there is a sharp wail (only half a second). My internal battery cool and is holder of a load at normal speed, only when the internal HARD disk needs accesed for anything on any platform, it's very very slow.

    What I tried:

Defrag: Windows disk shows the fragmentation of 27%, however any attempt not to defragment that lead to progress stuck at 0% defragmented.

    SeaTools: Spent Seatools smart test.

Reseting BIOS: BIOS reset by using the option in the BIOS.

Store testing: took the laptop computer to the store and paid $20 for them to test, it passed all tests.

Auditor of Windows errors: found mistakes (I've marked recovery of bad sectors and fix file system errors) and fixed (I have this on the external HARD drive that was running windows 7).

If this is not the power supply, I have no idea of what is more. Assistance to access the drive HARD internal from the external windows copy is still slow, so there is nothing to do with the problems of corruption or OS driver I know. If you need more technical info let me know. I really don't care about the short freezes more, I just want to be able to use my new laptop if anyone can help me identify the problem I love them. I'm just suspecious of the PSU now because of her crying when being cut.

Well, after reciving absolutely no help on this subject, I finally concluded that my HARD drive is indeed bad. I took it on my laptop, it was hooked up to my office, it's still slow respondent (although a little faster) and the HARD drive is also still on. The only reason why I come back to this post is someone else do it who is having these symptoms:

    -HARD disk always turn on.

-HARD drive passes all the tests.

-Great answer/access times (for me, it would take an hour or more just to get windows 7 booted up and logged).

-No real lag, just windows waiting on the HARD drive.

-Crazy waiting for HARD disk defragmentation time (Mine was going to take a week + and there by about 33% fragmentation)

-Small amounts of offset or "stutters / hiccups" than occor all few seconds (about once every 3-4 seconds for me) (this applies only if the HARD drive worked before).

-A small, short, high-pitched shrill when the computer is forcibly stops using the power button.

My HARD drive exposes all of these symptoms. If your HARD drive is having these same questions, sorry to say, but you'll probably have to get a new HARD drive or get an SSD. The good news is that HARD drive prices have fallen since SSD majorly became public.

42 people have seen this post but not one bothered to even try to help. I am very disappointed.
