EliteBook 850 G2: Elitebook 850 G2 using 3 external monitors

I have a G2 of 850 Elitebook connected to the Dock UltraSlim 2013 and I want to fly 3 external monitors (not counting the bed in the computer screen).  The specifications of this laptop says he will lead 3 external monitors using this docking station, but I can't get it to work.  I tried all the configurations, and it seems that the 2 were built in displayports on the platform do not work at the same time.  I can run 1 monitor external conencted the VGA and 1 to a displayport connections, but I don't get anything to connect to the other displayport connection.  I use the same professionals HP screens with displayport and vga connections.  Someone at - it work?

Thanks for the reply.  I called support and found out it was a bad cable DisplayPort.  I was able to conenct 2 monitors for DisplayPort connections on the SlimDock monitor HP and 1 HP to the VGA on the SlimDock connection.  Once I closed the lid of the laptop, all 3 has started working.

I use an external monitor LG Flatron L1811S on my Portege M800 and find that the image is not rock solid when I use the display on my desktop or screen of the M800.
It is particularly visible on the big patches of color block where I can see shimmering light. I noticed that it's especially bad if I recently reconnected the laptop to the network after using on battery power until the battery is fully charged.

This makes me think that the PSU interferes with the VGA output?
    Any ideas?

Hi - I just got a new Portege; R600-102. It's a great machine - very light and fast.

I connect to a Slim port replicator to the office and I wish I could anchor and automatically use the external monitor without opening the laptop. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do it? This process has worked well on my recently retired Dell X 300.

    More precisely:
    # I have the laptop closed Portégé and standby mode
    # I anchor in the Slim Port Replicator (SPR)
    # I press the button 'on' on the SPR
    # I see the message "recovery windows" and the bars of the countdown on the external monitor. (So I know it's connected and you can see the external monitor)
    # The laptop turns on but use the laptop screen (private) LCD
    # I have to open it and manually tell it 'out to watch.
    What can be automatically?

    Thanks for the tips.

  • How to use two external monitors with my laptop?

I have a new Pavilion dm4-301 d cl Entertainment PC.   My OS is Windows 7.   I'm used to using two external monitors with a docking station.   This new laptop lacks a docking station.  What should I do use two external monitors?

Certainly not without a dock, but even with laptop HP well enough docks limit you to one of the ports on the external monitor, even if there are two on the dock. We used a device called an Atlona AT-HDPIX2 which is a USB to hdmi adapter. It provides a feature of third monitor for a laptop... use the native external port of the screen and the computer screen internal, then this device gives a third control that is fully configurable to display Windows 7 interface... clone, extend, etc.. It allows a full HD resolution and is pretty responsive for games even light.  HP does not have any true docking station for your laptop.

    Hello j.d.1882,

    1. you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card?

I suggest that you update the drivers for the graphics card and check if the computer continues to crash.

In addition, I suggest that you download the dump files to check exactly what may cause the problem.

Athttp://skydrive.live.com using your Live ID and I will check:

    a. Click Start, select run, type '% SystemRoot%\Minidump' (without the quotes) in the search box and press ENTER.

b go to your desktop, right-click on it and create a new folder named "Dump".

    c. copy all the files in memory dump (it looks like Mini092003 - 01.DMP) in Minidump in this folder.

    d. right click on the folder of the image, click on "send to" and click on "compressed file (zipped).

    e. Please download the ZIP file.

  • I can't enter the bios using the external monitor

Hello, I use Dell Inspiron n4010 for the last 2.5 years. My laptop monitor stopped working that's why I bought an external Dell monitor... Its works fine but I need to install the windows now... Unfortunately, I cannot get into the BIOS of the external display and can not change the device to initialize DVD ROM.

Please can someone tell how to enter the BIOS using the external monitor (I put it as a main monitor, but it still does not work)? The Monte screen after windows starts... Is it possible to get it back? Help, please...

Yes - I know - it's what I'm trying to show you how!

If you follow my instructions in my last post, you will see nothing for the "six seconds".but the startup process stops at the BIOS screen and FN & F1 or F1 key will rise from the dead internal to external monitor.

    Hello

Check with the manufacturer of the laptop's support, their books online and ask in their forums.
Some have special tools/methods to control one 2nd monitor other than Windows,

Right click on the desktop - properties Graphics

Right click on desktop - graphics Options

Right click on desktop - customize - display settings

These should help you to implement and control.

  • Unable to get the maximum screen resolution when you use the external monitor

    Hello

I use Windows 8 on laptop ASUS K55A. I use an external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW). Everything works fine except that I do not get the maximum resolution on the external display. The only way I see a sort of an overview of the good resolution is when I choose "extend these screens", but it's very uncomfortable when there's always one screen, I don't actually see.
How can I increase the resolution of the screen on the external screen? (now, it's on 'show desktop only on 2')
    Thank you!
I use Windows 8 on laptop ASUS K55A.

  • If I want to use an external monitor of ranking on dell precision 5000 or Hp zbook (equipped both of usb3 and thunderbolt 3) this piece of harware would work with SG?

If I want to use an external monitor of ranking on dell precision 5000 or Hp zbook (equipped both of usb3 and thunderbolt 3) this piece of harware would work with SG? My monitor is a scientist of Flanders HDSDI LM-2460W. I know blackmagic has a few options but the last time I checked, he has not worked with SG. Anyone know?

I think Sg works more easily with an output of your video card... I run two monitors style DVI outputs, but he could use the HDMI connections too I think. The tab Setup (wrench) go you and activate a second monitor and... it's a unique method instead... use the lines where she asks location information to 'say' Sg where the upper-left pixel of your second monitor (program or viewing) is your monitor 'system '.

I had two 1920 x 1080 monitors, stacked vertically, OS/UI on the bottom, "programs" or reading on the upper monitor.

So, this upper-left pixel of my 2nd monitor is a negative number for 'up' and zero to indicate the two pixels top left "even".

It is-1080 for the "vertical" number... it's the height of my 2nd screen and it is negative, because it is above the main screen.

It is 0 for the horizontal number. Yes, they are stacked.

Now, if I had a monitor/program play to the left of my OS/UI screen, it would be...

    Vertical number 0, as relatively, they have the same 'height ';

Horizontal number of-1920, that reading is on the left.

Reading right... Vertical would be 0 and horizontal a positive number of 1920 (width of the primary monitor).

  • Performance of poor graphics on VMWare Fusion when using an external monitor

    Hello

When you use an external monitor (connected to VGA via adapter Thunderbolt), I noticed severe lag while doing operations with open windows (for example, drag, maximize, minimize). In general, it is safe to say that all operations that appeal to no effect whatsoever (for example open a start menu), are significantly lag. When running in a one-stop single mode or unplug the external monitor, none of these discrepancies. So I strongly guess that arises the question of having a connected external monitor.

-Would be my Macbook is not powerful enough to run 4 screens simultaneously (two for Mac OS in native mode as well as more virtual both inside Windows)? Are there settings I can try and change that could affect this underperformance? Or is it a problem with VMWare? Please note that the CPU is not even by far the most when running the virtual machine and 'stress test' moving around the windows.

My settings for the virtual machine are attached to this post.

I use a Macbook to mid-2014 Pro retina 13 "with 16 GB of RAM and a processor Intel i7 @ 3 GHz, as well as the latest Version of VMWare Fusion (7.1.0). The OS I am running using VMWare is a Windows 8.1. (implemented from scratch on this machine) with all updates installed (as well as VMWare tools). I am running Windows in a resolution of 2560 x 1600 with icons on the scale, but I tried to run VMWare low with 1440 x 900 resolution, which made no difference.

    Hi ltzi1,

Are there when you select "Unit" only for "Scaled high resolution" in the display settings?

Please can you give us the external monitor resolution setting and attached support beam (it can be collected by 'Help-> support Collect information') which could help understand the problem?

Or a registration form would be useful. : D

    Thank you.

  • HP Elitebook/HP 2013 Docking: Elitebook will acknowledge only an external monitor at the same time

I have a HP Elitebook that I anchor on a HP 2013 Ultra Slim Docking Station. I am trying to connect two external monitors (the two HP EliteDisplay E201) to the docking - one VGA and one DVI. The docking station is more than enough ports and screens both work if hooked up at once, but I can't bring it to be recognized at the same time. Is there something that I am missing? Do I need a splitter or how to make this work? Thank you!!

No need to apologize.  If anything, I should apologize because I purge my frustrations with HP to someone also have problems with the HP hardware.  That makes no sense at all.

Anyway, it seems that the Folio 9480 m will have HD Graphics 4400 * at least *.

According to the Intel site, it supports up to 3 independent displays, so you're good so far.

Intel page is very informative, in order to see if you can understand how to operate from here:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005556.html

Before that, make sure that your port docking station display firmware is up-to-date.  I assume you are using HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking Station.  Look at the Firmware of this page section (find your way to the page "drivers & software" for your product, or use the software for HP do you still, even though I personally do not use them).

  • Satellite L555-10R: Question about using an external monitor with 1920 x 1200

    Hello

I have this toshiba laptop: L555-10R

I want to buy a screen external 24 "to use for CAD

Please can you tell me, my graphics card composed with run at 1920 x 1200 monitor, and a second screen 1600 x 900 at the same time see my cell phone?

I really want the 1200 vertical height of the external display for CAD work such as size of the screen vertically made a big difference.

If not, is there anything I can do about it to update the graphics card from the laptop?

If not, can you suggest a new laptop that would support this? I am looking for excellent performance for rendering using 3DS Max, autocad, sketchup, etc.

    Thanks in advance

    > Please can you tell me, my graphics card composed with run at 1920 x 1200 monitor, and a second screen 1600 x 900 at the same time see my cell phone?

I think that this should not be a big problem
The graphics chip is expected to provide support for 1920 x 1200.
The question is whether the graphics card driver contains such special resolution of 1920 x 1200

However, you can certainly choose two different resolutions for the screen internal and external monitor.

  • HP Envy X 2 (15-C001dx): HP Envy X 2 (15-C001dx): question seeks to use the external monitor

I have a brand new HP Envy X 2 (15-C001dx) with Windows 8.1. So far, it works fine by itself. I tried to connect an external monitor to the laptop using an HDMI cable from the laptop to a LG L246WPQ screen. The problem is that 10-15% of the left side of the content portable screen does not appear on the external monitor. Missing from the external display is the word "Start" in the upper left with roughly 2 columns to tiles. This occurs in the two "dual display" or "show only the screen 2" modes.  It's using a resolution of 1680 x 1050 times the cell phone and the LG appearing in support. Using the touch screen on the laptop I can scroll tiles to the right and see the missing columns at the far left. The information displayed on the external monitor begins as far left this screen will be displayed. In other words, there is no black and white on the left box. Except for the missing information on the left side, from the rest of the external display content seems fine. I have updated video driver of the laptop at the latest on HP.COM.  No change in behavior. I tried all the options I could find on the LG OnScreenDisplay, but nothing does the display not better. I've seen complaints on some forums that some "DPI" support added in Windows 8.1is causing many grief monitor for some people. Who would have something to do with it?

This sounds like a video driver problem?  Something incorrect or incompatible with this LG monitor? Suggestions on other things to try?

    Thank you

    @outback ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums,

The first thing I would try this question takes the hdmi cable and plug it on another monitor or a TV.

If the same problem exists then LG issue.  If the same problem occurs on other screens or TV then looking at a resolution problem on the output of the system.

Even if you can be able to higher resolutions sometimes native resolution will eventually force you to lower it.

I have two screens at home who can manage resolution 1680 x 1050, however the native resolution is less than that.  and according to what I connect to the screen will depend on what I can get away with.

Hmm, I think that's not possible, but have you tried to press FN + F5 several times?

The monitor CRT, external display and if only that is available, then you could try to choose this.
