What is it's ok to keep Satellite U500 closed while using the external monitor?
Hello
I have a Satellite U500.
At home, I use a monitor and a keyboard. So I closed the laptop while working at home.
I can do this, or would it damage the display or otherwise hinder ventilation properly somehow laptop?
Thank you very much for your answers.
Thierry
Hi mate
Of course, you can close the lid when the laptop is connected to the external display.
I have a Satellite phone as well and it s connected to the external monitor.
I also have a USB keyboard.
I use the external keyboard instead of the internal keyboard for laptop and the cover is too firm
Don t worried if he of ok!

Thank you.
GaryHmm, I think that's not possible, but have you tried to press FN + F5 several times?
Is it only a CRT monitor available?
The monitor CRT, external display and if only that is available, then you could try to choose this.Otherwise, you can close the lid if you do not use the internal monitor

Satellite M500 - closing LID off the external display
I just bought a new M500 today. I use a TV 46 '' as external display. When I close the lid of the external screen turns off and the laptop into hibernation.
How can I stop this I use the external screen 95% of the time? Thanks in advance.
Hello
It's just an option, you have to change the Windows power management. Go to power options, and then select the power profile you use. Change the map and scroll until the power buttons and lid-online lid close action. Change this option to do nothing. With apply then OK you save this settings.
Now you can try it again. I must say for me that it worked because I also work with the external monitor. :)

Satellite P300 - display resolution incorrect if the external monitor is connected
I wanted to use a monitor BENQ of WAP 2010 with my Satellite P300 laptop operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
When I connect it, the display resolution changes to an unusable.
I installed the latest ATI drivers that I downloaded from the Toshiba site. Max screen resolution is 1680 x 1050. This resolution no longer exists after the connection of the monitor. Also, I can't set the correct resolution for the LCD display of the laptop more.
How set up the screen, so that the monitor displays a clone of the LCD screen for laptop and find the correct resolution?
Hello
> Max monitor resolution is 1680 x 1050. This resolution no longer exists after the connection of the monitor.
Please understand that not all possible solutions are supported by a graphics card chip or a graphics card driver.
If one of the parts mentioned would not support this resolution then you will not be able to choose and use the external monitor! In your case, I recommend the manual of your laptop.
There you can find a list of available external resolutions and supported.Welcome them

Re: Satellite U500 - 18K - where is the bag and the driver on the CD?
I just bought this laptop yesterday and when I read the manual book its has said that the package includes the bag and the driver on the CD but I had none of them, only the laptop and the power cable.
When I ask the man to store, he says, it's all... no other. Where can I ask questions about it? Or is it a common thing?
Hello
Can you please tell us what page you found this information? This does not to me you get a bag and the driver on the CD with Notepad.
Can also explain what you mean with CD driver?I checked the manual of my Satellite U500 and it shows the following information about the material delivered in package:
+ Toshiba Satellite U500 laptop PC +.
+ Universal AC adapter power cord + and
+ Battery (is preinstalled on the computer).
+ Cleaning cloth (is included with some models). So I didn t find any information on the things you want to say

Satellite L30-149, only works with external monitor and VGA mode
Satellite L30-149, Windows XP Home Edition
Yesterday I did face the following problem:
I swithched on my laptop but I have nothing on the screen. I tried to reboot several times, but it did not help. If I look very carefully, I see the logo of Intel (black text on white on the screen) but nothing else. The logo shows very low.
I plugged on the external monitor. With that he gives a little more. The Intel logo with the instruction how to reach configuration etc. Then Windows logo but when it should ask the user, the external monitor going to sleep mode and nothing happens after that.
And an external monitor, I managed to connect to Windows in safe mode and also in VGA mode. In VGA mode, I tried to change the resolution, after that I got black screen again and I had to start.
Now I wonder if I could do something (update of drivers, etc.) or should I go to the store where I bought the laptop and ask them to fix it. This look like a problem covered by the warranty?
--
Upgrade to this message (what happened after that I wrote the above text).I turned on the laptop again. I thing the lightning from the room is now better because I noticed that the laptop seems to work (almost) correctly. Windows starts normally, I can faintly see the desktop. This seems to be a problem in the background ligthning. FnF7 does not change the situation.

This sentence is very interesting.
Sounds like a question of FL-ups!It is a small part behind the screen and control the backlight of the screens.
Usually, this part is not very expensive and the replacement is not complicated to a technician for laptop. If your warranty is valid, then everything should be done for free.
Try to contact the ASP in your country and ask for later handling.Greetings and good luck

Shaking image on the external monitor when the Satellite A200 is running on AC
Hello
I have this problem that drives me crazy... I bought an external monitor for my laptop Toshiba Satellite A200-1 9 s, but the problem is that the image on the external monitor, shakes. I tried another monitor, the same, another cable, same problem; the only way to stop it is to unplug the AC of the laptop.
I also tried to move the monitor further away from the laptop, but nothing.
I can stop shaking so hard that if I switch to the profile AC from FULL POWER to save power... but even with this image is still shaking a little. So basically there is a magnetic field around here, probably in the portable, which makes my picture shaking like crazy... someone knows how to stop it?
TXHello
Hmmm...
I don't think it has to do something with magnetic fields.Cause she is related to the energy consumption of the computer, it seems that there is a problem with the AC adapter.
If he needs to deliver all the 'juice', this is capacitors to keep absolutely stable voltage may be too low.
These instabilities (with the frequency of 50 Hz supply) can parasitize the signal on the screen.A solution for this?... If you know how to solder some fat capacitors somehow between the two...
Or:
It is a grounding problem
I have never heard of such problems with the LCD (VGA monitors?) monitors. Generally, this is the case when you use an analog video output,
leading to no color on TV.
You have an annoying hum when you connect the audio output to an amplifier? It would be a sign for it.
I had such a problem and solved by plugging my laptop on the sector on another circuit in the House as my audio devices
So experiment with it.
First: unplug all the other stuff (printer, Poles, antennas, all) these are unpleasant problems with a lot of possible interference.Let me know!

How to find out the resolution of the external monitor max on Satellite Pro A100-02Y
I have a Satellite Pro A100-02Y.
I want to launch an external monitor but don't have any idea how big a monitor will deal graphics drivers. How will I know?
Thanks for any help.
Hello
You should keep one fact in mind that the available screen resolution depends on the graphics card and the graphics card driver.
If I'm not mistaken, you can find the max somewhere graphics card resolution information in the user manual. But note; If the graphics card driver does not support you favorite resolution then you will not be able to use and to choose!
In the properties of the graphics card, you can find the available screen are supported by GPU driver resolutions.
Usually these resolutions could be used on the external monitor, but only if the external monitor takes care of everything.Best regards

Satellite P100 comes with two port external monitor. One VGA and one DVI. Can you have two external monitor works at the same time? Can you have two external monitor as well as your internal screen working at the same time (for a total of 3 screen at the same time?
Here's what I confirm:
Internal display + display DVI connector
OR
Internal display + screen VGA connectorIs it possible to have:
Display connector DVI + VGA connector display?
OR
Display connector DVI + VGA connector screen + internal display?
As far as I know, this is not possible and you can use a DVI or VGA port.
Output signal can be used only a single port for external monitor. -
Satellite P300 - randomly turns off the power when connected to the external monitor
Hello
I have a Satellite P300, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB, running Windows 7 ultimate x 64.
Recently, I bought an AOC v22 led screen and connect my conputer via HDMI. Everything works fine, but sometimes my computer off just randomly. I might have something to do with my computer overheating, so I clean the fan, but this was not good.
I think it has something to do with the LED screen because my computer was never off his own.
Hello
So this also happens if you n t connect laptop to external display? So, you can determine what is causing this problem.
If the computer laptop doesn t turn off without external monitor, you should try to update the BIOS and the display driver. Two updates that you can find on the Toshiba site:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download driversYou close the lid if you have connected the external monitor?
What operating system do you use?In addition, it would be interesting to know how you clean the laptop. That's why I use the jet of compressed air that can blow the dust from the cooling fans and you don't have to disassemble the laptop.
Good bye

Satellite A200-1BJ - no display on external monitor
Hello
I have a display problem with my laptop, which is:
When I connect my computer to an external display (projector - data show - using the rgb or s-video cable), the contents of my computer are not displayed.
I used F5, Catalyst Control Center, but without success.
When I connect it with a TV using s-video, I get the message "no signal".
I think of the existence of the other devices, but the content is not sent to the external display.I don't know what the problem is. I need to use my computer and the screen using a projector for my presentations, which is very common.
The problem is that he used to work, then suddenly it stopped display on external displays.
I could not understand the problem, then I thought that the settings have been changed accidentally.
So I formatted my computer back to the factory setting, but my attempt failed and it still does not display on the external monitor. My computer specs:
-Toshiba Satellite A200-1BJ
-Processor: Intel Core2 Duo
-OS: Windows Vista editions Home Premium
-Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600Does anyone know the solution?
Thanks in advance.
In your case I would update the BIOS and the display driver. The two you can find on the Toshiba site:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download driversHave you tried different cables? Maybe it s faulty or too long.
Also, be sure to use a rate of resolution and refresh supported for the external monitor display. You can change that in Catalyst Control Center.

Satellite Pro L360-14F - cannot play videos on the external monitor
Toshiba Satellite Pro L360-14F
Video files as avi, flv, mp4 are played with SM-player etc on the screen of the laptop, but not on the external monitor attached.
A newspaper there is the error message: MPlayer crashed by the bath OF CPU/FPU/RAM usage.Which may mean that?
You already go to the external display by using the FN + F5 keys?
To do this.In addition, you must go first to the external screen and then you need to start the windows media player or other video player.
I advise to use the VLC Player. It s free fro and plays most of the files

Satellite P300 - screen is broken - how activate the external monitor
My screen is completely broken.
I hung on a desktop to the laptop monitor.
I need to know to turn on the broken and the other external.I turn on and I am looking for an a little glowing screen and cracked and broken.
I don't know this may be to do I don't know what buttons to push because I see a screen.
IHIS, this is my first Forum ever thanks!Hi mate
I recommend using the FN + F5 key combination
You can use it to switch to output the external monitor or TV.
This key combination supports several options:
-screen internal + external display
-external display only
-TV out
-etc...You have to press FN + F5 several times in order to get the right output.

Satellite U200 - 1920x1080@64Hz on the external LCD screen resolution problem
I am the owner of a SATELLITE U200 and I would use it with an external LCD display.
The external monitor supports up to 1920x1080@64Hz.
When I select the 1920x1080@64Hz option in the properties of the screen, I get an image enlarged and out of range of the scale. However, by selecting 1400x1050@60Hz seems to work very well.
My question is: is there anyway I can get the 1920x1080@64Hz option working properly?

It s nice that your monitor supports the screen resolution 1920 x 1080, but you should check your owner's manual.
On page B-4, you will find a list of the supported screen resolution and I must say that the resolution 1920 x 1080 is not taken in charge.
You can select 1920 x 1440 but not 1920 x 1080.Sorry, but the material doesn't supports his screen resolution.
