How to use two external monitors with my laptop?

I have a new Pavilion dm4-301 d cl Entertainment PC.   My OS is Windows 7.   I'm used to using two external monitors with a docking station.   This new laptop lacks a docking station.  What should I do use two external monitors?

Certainly not without a dock, but even with laptop HP well enough docks limit you to one of the ports on the external monitor, even if there are two on the dock. We used a device called an Atlona AT-HDPIX2 which is a USB to hdmi adapter. It provides a feature of third monitor for a laptop... use the native external port of the screen and the computer screen internal, then this device gives a third control that is fully configurable to display Windows 7 interface... clone, extend, etc.. It allows a full HD resolution and is pretty responsive for games even light.  HP does not have any true docking station for your laptop.

  • Portege R600 - how to use the external monitor on the docking automatically

Hi - I just got a new Portege; R600-102. It's a great machine - very light and fast.

I connect to a Slim port replicator to the office and I wish I could anchor and automatically use the external monitor without opening the laptop. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do it? This process has worked well on my recently retired Dell X 300.

    More precisely:
    # I have the laptop closed Portégé and standby mode
    # I anchor in the Slim Port Replicator (SPR)
    # I press the button 'on' on the SPR
    # I see the message "recovery windows" and the bars of the countdown on the external monitor. (So I know it's connected and you can see the external monitor)
    # The laptop turns on but use the laptop screen (private) LCD
    # I have to open it and manually tell it 'out to watch.
    What can be automatically?

    Thanks for the tips.

I have not found a viable answer on how to use a different microphone with the lifecam. The construction is far away from me. I look six miles away. The camera is great for sure, but he's obnoxious I can't choose my mic source. Can you help me?

    Hello

You can change the audio source to the other microphone on the application you're using. You will not need any additional software to do this. Also check your recording volume control. You may be able to change this for all applications.

You can also view: set up a microphone: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/speech_setup_microphone.mspx?mfr=true

  • Inspiron 7720 SE 17 ": how to connect two external monitor?

Is possible to connect this laptop external monitor 7720 to two (don't mind if computer screen is disabled or duplicate).

I have two samsung 21 '' monitor (HD).

    If so, how?

Hi, I would like to participate.

I wonder if one of you can confirm that it is impossible to use this inspiron 7720 in a configuration triple monitor (no duplication but only stretching from the screen)? I wonder because it is usually possible with maps of optimus and win7/8 but not this time - could only manage to run 2 of the three.

And to answer riscy00: Why use a splitter? Simply use HDMI and vga, and turn off the screen of the laptop. I did it today.

  • Satellite L555-10R: Question about using an external monitor with 1920 x 1200

    Hello

I have this toshiba laptop: L555-10R

I want to buy a screen external 24 "to use for CAD

Please can you tell me, my graphics card composed with run at 1920 x 1200 monitor, and a second screen 1600 x 900 at the same time see my cell phone?

I really want the 1200 vertical height of the external display for CAD work such as size of the screen vertically made a big difference.

If not, is there anything I can do about it to update the graphics card from the laptop?

If not, can you suggest a new laptop that would support this? I am looking for excellent performance for rendering using 3DS Max, autocad, sketchup, etc.

    Thanks in advance
    Christopher

    > Please can you tell me, my graphics card composed with run at 1920 x 1200 monitor, and a second screen 1600 x 900 at the same time see my cell phone?

I think that this should not be a big problem
The graphics chip is expected to provide support for 1920 x 1200.
The question is whether the graphics card driver contains such special resolution of 1920 x 1200

However, you can certainly choose two different resolutions for the screen internal and external monitor.

  • can I use external monitor with my laptop, but the laptop screen is broken can it work

my screen is broken I can see pieces of the screen, but not enough to change things so can system work I connect always external monitor at the moment until the repair is possible thanks steve

    Hello Stephen,

Assuming that you have the right cable, Yes, you can. In all likelihood, you will need a cable to VGA 15 pins to connect your monitor to your laptop. With a bit of luck, your laptop should recognize your external monitor and shunt video to it.

If it's not, or you need to change whatever it is, go to control panel, Manager of devices and open this applet. You may need to check both places. The first is graphics cards - your video card, which is part of the integrated graphics card likely your motherboard. The second is monitors, who will be where your external monitor is displayed. Your duty to make sure what your video (graphics card) points to the external monitor (monitors).

If you have any questions, please post them here. Let me know how you fare.

    Kind regards

  • Can I use 2 external monitors with Satellite M70?

Is it possible to connect to the PC (M70-131) 2 external monitors? Put do so via video splitter I have only 2 monitor Setup mode, instead of 3 as it should.

How do you mean that. do you mean one to the external VGA port and the other to the S-video?

    Welcome them

  • How to use the external screen with my Satellite M30?

Hi guys, I have the following problem:

I have a portable Satellite M30-642 former. My keyboard it is completely broken (spilled something on it) so I use an external USB keyboard.

Now that I bought a TFT I wanted to use it as a primary device, so I need to take the laptop to the external output.
The laptop itself recognizes as a secondary screen already, but this isn't what I want.
Problem is I can't switch from the display without the FN key devices!

I tried to search the net and this forum - but the solution posted does not work for the M30. There is no option in the utility of HW and not in the BIOS to enable the external keyboard support.
Please is there any other combination of keys that would work or a software utility that allows me to turn on? It's a really bad situation for me :(

    All solutions anyone? :(

    Greetings and thanks in advance
    HQ

    Hello

Please don't be crazy on me but I write here very often and somehow try to help, but I'm still irritated if someone thinks that anything is possible. Unfortunately, you have to accept that sometimes there is hardware limitation and there is nothing to do.
I want to talk about primary and secondary monitor.

On most laptops, the LCD is always set as primary and cannot be changed. So, as far as I know, without using the FN + F5 key combination you extend the desktop to external display and use both of them. Using display settings you should be able to switch to an external display only (display control panel settings NVIDIA advance settings and so on). Please test only because I don't have M30, but the principle is used the same.

If you will be able to use external display only try to restart your laptop and see on which screen the office will be shown. If you will be lucky and office will be shown on the external display, try to extend the desktop to second monitor (laptop LCD).

    Good bye

  • How to use Nokia BH-501 with my laptop

I just bought this headset, and I used it on my phone, no worries. High quality and good battery life.
Now, I would like to use Skype on my computer but when I connected automatically, it's headphone only. So I had to connect in the headset or handsfree (what is the difference?)
Poor quality have both these protocols (?).

How can I get good quality with the microphone? I know its possible because I can do with my phone...

Is there a config file, can I change to force a different protocol (the one that uses my phone to connect to the headset) for best quality?

If you prefer to control your headset by the software, you must use hands-free (HFP) instead of the profile headset (HSP). HFP is bidirectional, which means the works of audio stream in both directions which is required for communication. The downside is that it uses low quality as a normal phone. The A2DP profile is for music, but it is being. This means that you can listen to just, so your microphone does not work.

The quality of the headphone is OK, but you should keep in mind that a good VoIP communication also depends on other components (for example, the network connection) that you do not experience if you use a mobile phone. It is not possible to connect two profiles A2DP and HFP, at the same time due to bandwidth issues, so you should use one that suits your current needs.

  • How to use two displays LCD + with ft ROLLSIGN

    Hello

My project needs both screens to be there:

    (1) one only to display the alphanumeric text / does not require any user (Rollsign) input

    (2) to display graphics, images and gets to user input. (LCD)

Please suggest me how this can be accomplished. I've seen tutorials for setting a unique LCD with RPi (LINK HERE ), but what I want to do is

To attach a display simple just like that of the bus to show routes and destination. It would be a static in which no human contribution is required

And another kind of LCD tablets. so that the user can enter their choice

Please help me to find the correct VIEWS for types, and how can we programmed and connected to pi raspberry and if possible to the place where I can buy those as well.

    And another subsidiary issue?

and Yes, it is possible for me to use my tablet to LCD screen

    Thank you

    Hello

You can use the Java SE API like Jasper and the API of Google geo location on Raspberry.

You can use JavaFX to view your screen and hide the backend, it is more related to permission configuration and the boot of linux. I suggest you to use JavaFX user interface to work with and use any regular I2C LCD to make your roll sign proof-of-concept... I believe that the time and investment to use a sign of professional roller can be a problem for you at this time.

Due to legal issues, we can postpone the deadline for the challenge, but submit your idea with a working, same interface is not quite ready!
