EM12c - how to move EMGC_ADMINSERVER after cloning a SGD?

Run EM12c with BP1 on Linux x 86-64. I (had) a unique server EM installation, the SGC and the repository database running. I'm moving EM installation to a server replacement.

I've separated the database repository, moved to the new server and all necessary up-to-date. Everything works very well.

I cloned the SGD using a deployment procedure, the new OMS is running on the new server. Everything works very well.

However, one piece is still underway on the origin server, and since I'm not very good with WebLogic I do not know how to proceed from here. EMGC_ADMINSERVER is still on the original server. I would like to move to the new server, so that I can stop the original and I have a fully functional EM environment running fully (and only) on the new server.

Any suggestions?

The recommended procedure to retrieve the primary SGD on a new server is covered in the 'Enterprise Manager Cloud Control administrator's Guide". Refer to Chapter 22: Enterprise Manager fault - recovery of the WHO. The main steps are:

-emctl allows you to create an exportconfig of the existing CMS
-completely close the primary SGD
-do a software installation of the WHO on the new server (this is important, because you cannot restore the configuration to)
operation, cloned, WHO)
-use 'recover omsca' to configure the new OMS. Be sure to use the - as if command line switch the
WebLogic Admin Server is recovered.
There are a few additional steps - set up the new agent, move the emrep to the new agent target, change the hostname for WLS targets and refresh the field WLS - and these are covered in the Administrator's Guide.

  • How to move the FILE from one place to another and keep "Indexing" have to move to the unknown location so you can't discover its full file path? Windows instructions provide information wrong re: how to do this!

Make a bunch of audio files, placed in a folder on my desktop. Files initially sent to RealPlayer to burn, but when finished burning CD and went to read a CD, folder got seized by Media Player, 'Indexed' and disappeared from the office. I'm a relatively new computer user, and I need to learn more about file paths, how to view the path FULL of a file on my computer and how to type (create) full path when I need to. The "Indexing" feature seems to erase this lesson for me, and after having spent four hours trying to find Vista instructions on "How to move the file from one place to another", I gave up! Windows 'Help and Support' on my computer gives wrong directions. It states that if I right click on a folder > properties, a dialog box opens with a tab by which I can move my account. There is no tab location here. I found locations tab when right click on the "Mobile" folder, but still no option to "move file". No idea what is the folder "Roaming" or why it's on my computer. I want my audio files in the My Music folder, but this place is "access denied." Don't know how to get the audio file it in any case, but if anyone has any advice, I would be very happy! Thank you. PS - I had no problem moving folders in XP. I don't like the idea that a computer is to decide where to put my files. I want to control where I put my files. I don't like the way search works under Vista. I liked the XP search companion better because, for a computer fool like me, it was really easy to organize and find files and folders and had an option specific to find audio and video file TYPES.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set
SEE drivers to hide Microsoft - update those with Dump in their names. (Also
updated the BIOS and drivers from the chipset on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

  • How to move Win7Pro from my HARD drive to a new SSD

I am running Windows 7 Professional on a desktop Dell 560. The software that I use for astroimaging involves math matrix on piles of large images (~ 30 MB each) in "battery" 8 to 20 images to resolve fine detail. Doing this on the existing HARD disk is tedious, with a deconvolution race take from 50 to 90 minutes with a profusion of disk read/write cycles. I want to change the operating system of a new SSD with the software. Is there a way to legitimately transfer the OS and other applications for the SSD? I'm guessing that copying simply of the C: existing to the SSD drive to prove unsuccessful.

    Did he do that?
    TIA
    James

    SSD of cloning:

You can clone the installation for the SSD, provided that the SSD is large enough to accommodate the installation to be cloned.

See http://www.ssdfreaks.com/content/664/how-to-clone-hdd-to-ssd-with-windows-7s-own-software or (easier) use a trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2012.

Note that, immediately after cloning, you must stop and unplug the original installation. The disc can be reconnected once the DSS started successfully.

  • Synchronize changes made after cloning

I just need to make sure that I understand something. I need to move a VM from VMware esxi 5.5 to another server. I try to do it with minimal downtime and loss of information. I am trying to run the hot converter as a conversion of the local computer on the new server. The problem is that the conversion takes about 10 h. I don't want to lose this amount of data. I noticed that there is an option to synchronize the changes immediately after cloning. It takes about 5 minutes. I guess that's simply copy the changes since the conversion began (10 hours). Is this correct? If Yes, I might only lose 5 minutes, not 10 hours. Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

Yes, that's correct. In addition, you have the ability to stop some services on the source before the sync step (for example a database server), so without loss of data occurs, only the downtime.

  • How to move virtual machines from one host to another without full VI and vMotion?

    Hello

could you help me with a question?

I have two installed hosts with ESXi 3.5 U5, which are connected to the shared iSCSI (Openfiler) - VMs storage are installed on the storage disk. My requirement is to have a cheap solution of DR - in case of failure of a host, I need to move and start VM on the host of work. How to achieve without going through VMware Infrastructure 3.5 and vMotion?

    I found this article:

    http://www.virtualizetips.com/2010/04/how-to-move-a-VM-without-vCenter-or-storage-VMotion/

but RCLI needs Infrastructure of VMware ESXi does not have default CLI So, how to move VMs between hosts (of course I mean "cold" move) without byuing any additonal VMware SW? It is generally possible in my situation?

    Thank you.

    ARO

    Danas

If the virtual machines are running in shared storage (two guests see the same storage iSCSI or NFS) then it's simple. If a host goes down, then look for the data store on the ESXi host work. Navigate through folders for each virtual machine, right-click on the VMX file and add to the inventory. You will then be able to turn on the virtual machine.

To move a virtual machine from one host to another, as long as both hosts had the same processors, you can pause the VM on the single host, browse and add the virtual machine to the inventory on the second break host and the United Nations.

If the virtual machines are on local storage, but the two hosts are connected to the same shared storage, clone virtual machines on a daily basis from local storage to shared storage. Use something like ghettoVCB http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8760 make the clone. In the case of a server failure, you will be able to browse the data store, add to the inventory on the shared storage and switch the cloned machine.

  • VMDK file size file size shrinkage / incorrect after cloning

While working with VMWare on case 1159631091 support we had to clone a virtual machine that had 3 separate HD located on separate to a temporary volume volumes, then when after starting the virtual machine successfully, we have cloned virtual machine again with appropriate VMDK dating back to their original Volumes...  These volumes have been configured thin and was originally considered appropriate sizes.  Now after cloning, the volumes are showing completely full.

    Example of

Volume 1 has a file VMDK 20 GB on a 25 GB volume and the volume shows 24.5 GB full on the SAN.  There are the 20 GB VMDK file and the file of 4 GB of Ram.

Volume 2 has a 150 GB VMDK file on a 150 GB volume.  The data on the volume is only about 10 GB at the moment.  My SAN previously reported only usage to 10 GB and so I guess that the VMDK file suit size.

Volume 3 has a 50 GB VMDK file on a volume of 50GB.  There are currently no data on this volume. My SAN previously reported use null.

So I need to know if possilbe and how to boom the VMDK files to their appropriate size so that they report correctly on my SAN.

    Thank you

You have several choices on www.vmware-land.com for shrinking vmdk.  For most use VMware Converter, use it to clone existing and increase or decrease the size of all readers and point to the destination storage systems.

If you found this information useful, please consider awarding points to 'Correct' or 'useful '. Thank you!!!
