End of 2015 21.5 "iMac16, 2 hard drive can be upgraded to SSD?

I have reports that the iMac 16.2 (end 2015, 21.5 ", Core i5 2.8 GHz) is purchased with a normal hard drive and not a disc Fusion that it lacks the necessary connector for a basic SSD PCle.

If anyone can check this? Is it possible to upgrade the original hard drive in this model? And what reading/writing speeds power you get with the original hard drive?

The 'normal' (non-fusion) 1 TB HARD drive in your iMac is bound to a Sata connector inside, so I assume that the HARD drive is a 2.5 HDD drive '' standard'.

So, it should be possible to replace it with a "standard" Sata SSD 2.5 ".

There are many 256-, 500 or 1 TB 2.5 "SSD available and cheap. The speed is about 1/3-1/4 of the PCLe flash, but still a lot faster than HARD disk drives. However, the new iMacs are very difficult to open. And even if I changed a lot of SSD HARD drives I have no experience with the end iMac.

You can search on the site of OWC, what your options are.

  • Change HARD drive can always use recovery disk to reinstall Windows?

I have a HP dv7-4296nr, partition recovery and recovery disks. Now, I want to change the current HARD drive to the new HARD drive. But I wonderring after I change the HARD drive, can I use the restore disc I burned before reinstalling windows?

    Hello

Yes you can.  Your existing set of recovery disks will not only install the operating system on the new hard drive, but will also reinstall all of the original software that came with your laptop as well as re - create the Partition D of recovery on the new drive.

  • How many hard drives can fit in a x120e?

Hello, how many hard drives can adapt? I would like to keep the included hard drive but also add a small ~ 30GB SDD to Windows host on. Is this possible or is it just a free SATA port?

one, since the mPCIe on the X120e is not compatible with the mSATA drive.

I want to install a second hard drive in my laptop (mSata SSD), I have two programs to install that "do not receive the", so I can create a system dual boot with the same license Windows on each disc. I can run only one at a time, and it's the same pc/laptop.

No, you can't, a second facility would be like installing on a second computer, you will need to purchase a second license.

  • I'm trying to run a program back to 7. I know it is not possible, but anyone who has used dosbox? And if I load xp on an external hard drive can I have essentially two separate computers?

How can I run a program back through windows 7? DOSbox? zinstall? Or loading of a xp via external hard drive? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

DOSbox or BACK (or XP or another 32-bit version of WIndows) on a virtual machine.

An external hard drive can be used only if it is connected by SATA (not USB). In this case, it seems to be an internal drive.

If you have Windows 7 Professional, you can use XP Mode. Otherwise, use VMWare Player http://www.vmware.com/products/player/, Virtualbox http://www.virtualbox.org/ or Windows Virtual PC http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx to host your virtual machine.

  • I leave my computer on at night, but when I wake up, he seems to be sleeping. Even if I click the mouse or the keyboard I can't use it. I ended up having to turn the disk hard drive off... there must be a setting I can change.

In addition, I recently did a restore on my computer, but everything else seems to work perfectly.

I have a windows vista Home premium 64-bit

    Hello

There are two approaches for this type of problem (usually caused by a device driver that does not support the waking state, gets into the system).

    (1) change your power settings (Control Panel/Power Options/change Plan settings) do not use the State of low power to the hard drive, but rather to put this line to 'never '.

    (2) see if your system BIOS has an option to change the State of sleep and cut in one step (for example from S4 to S3). Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

  • Hard drive and global upgrades

    Hi so my

    HP Pavilion p6707c

hard drive has an honor to failure so I want to replace it and take this opportunity to upgrade other components in my lap.

I want to upgrade the hard drive, RAM, CPU and graphics. I was wondering if someone could give me a good recommendation for a much higher performance processor and the RAM upgrade but the graphics should be an upgrade of my old graphics: a G - force GT-440.

The RAM is expensive, as I said and I do not think 4 gig sticks would work. I really don't think it tops out at 4 concerts. When this computer is out 4 concerts was very good, and now it's low-end but still usable.

The HP BIOS is limited and is not not going give you overclock options.

  • XP Pro - unable to detect the hard drive during the upgrade

    Hello

I was trying to add a second IDE hard drive to my PC, after the installation of the system tells me not hard are detected. Press FI to try again. F2 to set up. I did both, but the drive still not detected and the system could not start.

I try to install back my original drive (a drive), but the problem persists.

Can I know how to fix this?

It can because of the IDE Hard Drive cable?

    Thank you

    Low

It is not at all what you did (for example, why do you of the re - install your original disc).  However, if what you were doing was to connect the new drive to the middle connector on the cable and then disconnect it, maybe all what you did was disconnect the cable at the end of the motherboard.

Yes, your problem may be a faulty IDE cable... but that seems unlikely given that it worked before... unless you damaged the cable while you were trying to connect the second drive.

Look carefully at the end of the motherboard of the cable and make sure it is properly connected, do not offset by a PIN or two and - if you had unplugged, that you do not bend the pins when you reconnect it.

  • HARD drive can be found on LX835-D3380

Can anyone help? Went to switch pc on lx385-d3380 and all of a sudden, that is to say no drive found.

    Hello

The HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS?
Go to the BIOS by pressing F2. Usually the HARD drive should appear on the first page of the BIOS.
If it is not listed, the HARD drive was not found by the BIOS... I suppose that because of HARD drive failure.

In this case, the HARD drive should be replaced to solve the problem.

  • HARD drive and memory upgrade on the Satellite P200 - 17 c

    Hello

I own Satellite P200 17 c. My current memory is DDR2 PC2-5300 2 GB. I would like to upgrade to DDR2 PC2 - 6400 4 GB of ram. I can do and it's going to be some speed improvements, if I update to PC2-6400 PC2-5300 instead?

I have 2 hard drives on my P200 17 c. 2 x 100 GB. I want to upgrade one of these two HD ranging from 100 GB to 320 GB 5400 RPM. can I do this? and it'll be a difference if I update with HD who has 7200 RPM?

    Thank you

First of all: your machine is able to handle a maximum capacity of 4 GB RAM, but please be aware that you won´t be able to use all of the 4 GB due to some limitations of the chipset that are explained in the following article: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

Regarding the speed of module: chipset specifications are defined for PC5300, so it will not improve your speed when you install faster modules.

If you want to upgrade your hard drive then do as you like, because it shouldn´t be any restrictions, you can install a drive with 7200 RPM with a slower.

The only difference will be that the faster drive faster. The performance of the entire system would increase only when you´re install your operating system on the disk more fast (which is the recommendation of my side :))
