• General question: what is involved with a DBA position entry level?

  I hope I've put this in the right forum. I was hoping to get feedback by those in or near the field to get a better understanding of the responsibilities and requirements for entry level DBA work. (What is a "I need a job", I did not).
  
  I don't know there is a wide range of difference depending on who you work for. So, I guess I should post a more specific question, if any feedback is greatly appreciated. I don't need to know it is to meet the education requirements, I have that down.
  
  Number of questions:
  -With an "entry level" position, commonly how one should be in SQL and PL/SQL?
  -Would you spend more time working on isolated tasks, or management of database encompassing all the?
  -One would spend time to work in other languages?
  -Would one spend a lot of time on the architecture and design of DB?
  -Other than the server (and associated material general network) is there any other material can be expected to work with?
  -"Beginners" would require a vast maintenance, troubleshooting, and hours of coding?
  -In general, is "entry level" a post of Assistant?
  and finally
  There's anything like that, you wouldn't expect not as a requirement, but is often in the field. Such functions often passed down that one would not expect, or additional skills that would be expected not to in general.
  
  Thanks in advance for any comments. Feel free to include comments not mentioned in this post. I must add that I have a solid knowledge of google, but I'm hoping to get previews experienced (at all levels).

  It depends on.

  It depends on what you know already - master (or at least become quite good at) before entering the DBA work.
  It depends on how your store is set up.
  It depends on what is needed at the moment.
  It depends on if the shop you can (has a place for you) with your skill set.

  There is no standard for what makes a DBA. Not really. No s/n, at least no that last a very long time, never turns down a task because it is not DBA job to do. Therefore, the best DBA (very useful) are quite versatile in what they know and what they do.

• Recommendations for entry level FC SAN

  Currently have a NFS datastore.  Looking to add a FC SAN as primary storage and use the NAS for backups and secondary storage.

  The installer includes 3 x servers HP DL380 hosts.  Recommendations for an entry-level SAN FC?  Want a unit that enables the direct connection of the 3 hosts through 8 GB FC.  Require only 12 max motorization and would use only 8 disks to start.  Budget will be 20 k $ or less for cables, discs, 3 FC HBAS and SAN.

  just speak directly into the computer's speakers.

  This likely tip of the problem. I bet that your computer has a microphone, which is connected to the Realtek card, and that's what you record with. You will need to turn off the microphone so your Realtek can see and use the externally connected microphone.

  I would look at control panel > system > hardware > Device Manager > sound, video and game controllers and see what is listed. I have sides that your Realteck is hooked up to a microphone. You may need to explore your exact computer with the mfgr., to see how to disable the microphone.

• How can I configure an iPad to iOS and boot up without any question/entry level?

  recently, my greatest pain is the process of upgrading a remote iPad (Yes, for old people like my parents). So if I have an iPad set up in a specific way and there is an update to iOS, it restarts and goes through a series of Questions and comments. I don't mind (it's a lie, I DON'T MIND). For literate people no gadget, it is frustrating and therefore for someone by train - remote to help regain access. The Question is: can we have a configuration that goes through an iOS update WITHOUT asking one thing? Maybe an oke pop-up asking 'agree' with setting level and all other Q later? No PIN code of installation ask if I hadn't any prior to installation? I mean, if you please, seriously? I have install i-device in a specific way and I LIKE IT like that. Include a button in the installer to accept all license agreements or agreements after an upgrade without asking. Unless I have clear. PLEASE? I guess anyone who support parents or grandparents remotely includes part of the simple upgrade...

  So, is there a way of "secret"? It will never be a?

• iBooks author - TOC shows the empty entries for table - how to stop this?

  I spent hours trying to find an answer to this.

  My book has a few tables - nothing wrong with that.  I have a front cap of the table - that's what I want in the table of contents.

  iBooks author shows instead, empty entries whenever he comes across a table, that is hopeless.

  

  I just want the topic as indicated above - 2.1.  I don't want 2.2 which is the table.

  Does anyone have an idea how to do this, please?

  If this isn't the case, iBooks author is desperate for any book that contains the tables.

  I found an article from Apple which may help to answer your question and I pasted the link below. I think that you will have to 'say' iBA this is or is not part of the Table of contents (TOC) and's done it with the Inspector tool, Document tab, section TOC. Look down at the bottom of this window to the sign and arrow down to allow the addition of other document settings in the table of contents, or remove some.

  (1) you will need to re - question child iterators so that they do not look stale data

  (2) Yes. Ensure that the table is PPRed after deleting the line (should happen automatically if ChangeEventPolicy on iterator is set to ppr)

  Hello. I'm creating 9.0 Solution Campus of a college. I confront the issue as below:

  Implement AWAR > Foundation Table > academic Structure > academic organization

  I implemented the academic organization of these data Table: in addition to academic departments, I also type in academic institutions and academic groups.

  Then I create academic organization tree using the tree Manager. The tree is verified and valid a date of entry into force.

  Then I put in place the 2 tables below:

  Implemented AWAR > Foundation Table > academic Structure > program academic table

  Implemented AWAR > Foundation Table > academic Structure > Table of different disciplines

  Table of research of the academic organization developed in the 2 above table successfully. But when I put in place the other 2 tables below, search for academic organisation table does:

  Implement > AWAR > Security > secure Administration of the student > user ID > Security academic organization

  Curriculum management > Catalogue > Catalogue courses > tab offer

  I understand that the 2 tables above are based on the tree of academic organizations and not on the academic organization Table. I see no error in the tree.

  Because the search for academic organisation table can't happen in the tab 'Offers' course catalogue, the course cannot be saved.

  My question is:

  Any folk can help resolve the issue of the "academic organization lookup table cannot mount security academic organization and in the tab catalog of courses'? Or any suggestion on the tree of the academic organizations?

  Forums snub research related but different issues, so this is: is this another leak memory graphic or I missed something?

  The problem is simple, although I doubt it appears often.  If you ask a chart, its use of the space data memory must reflect what is needed for the history of the times ranking two.  However, any when you switch inputs between scalars and tables (does not seem to matter what type, or what size for berries, and I was testing with empty bays), the chart takes another entire buffer (history x 2), and data space grows from this amount.  If you come back, it grows again.  You can change the dimensions of the matrix, remove your entry and a new one of the same "order" of wire, or do any number of other things, and the data space is fine.  But once you make this specific switch, the data space is growing.  Everything I tried, there is not a way to free this memory, even by removing the graphic of the VI, except to CTRL + Z all the way around before you inputs wired.  If you closed or did a bunch of work later, I don't think that there is a way to recover, and it is not get cleaned up with a reboot.

  Of course, this probably has not yet arrived on the radar of anyone for several reasons, but we are often dealing with very large data sets, and I discovered this in a chart with a history of 1 M.  (On a 32-bit computer, not less.  Why even they those more)

  I have screenshots available if anyone is interested, but I have to shoot and crop before they are useful to someone else so I don't put everything here.  I haven't searched deep enough into VI scripting to find a programmatic way to see the distribution of memory usage - on that note, does anyone know how?- so I have no excerpts, either.  I'll be stuck in the lab so I'll be slow with the answers, but I'll be anxious to hear if anyone has any suggestions or foreknowledge of it.  Thank you!

  I wish I had access to a table in a Subvi to lower hierarch. Now using the property of the "appellants", that I have access to VI refnum at the top level and 'number of elements in the array reference' allows to write in the first item in the table to the right, but I would like to have access to all the elements separately.

  Please consider that I'm using LV 8.2.

  as you already use the nodes property you should connect the 'IndexValues' property to show the search item and then read its value of "ArrElem.Value". Or search the Forum as there are also other threads on this topic

  In general: the better (faster, without thread switches, [no] datacopies) is to wire the table itself to the Subvi.

• The queue from table question

  I had a recent application where I wanted to take 100 samples of something then get the RMS of the dara. This is happening in a loop, and until the end of the program. Very basic stuff.

  • Method of the QUEUE:
  • Get queues with max 100 items.
  • Queue data (data arrive on every 50mS).
  • Get the status of the queue when the number of items is 100...
  • ... Empty the queue and get all the items (which of course will be a prison guard) and use the RMS funtion.
  • Repeat

  • TABLE method:
  • Initialize the array with 100 elements of the DBL 9999.99 (it is a value that can only happen in the data)
  • Insert data in the table to help replace a subset of table
  • When 100 index isn't 9999.99, then...
  • ... Put the table in the RMS function, then re - initialize the full array of the 9999.99
  • Repeat

  My questions are, who should be faster, including better management of memory?

  Why not just use the RMS PtByPt VI. In this way, you don't need to store data at all? This may require that marginally more calculation, but will require less memory.

  If you insist on the pad, I'd probably go with the table for simplicity. I think you can simplify your system to determine when to treat well. No reason to have all these 9999.99 is here.

• Ring of table question

  I'm using LabWindows/CVI 8.5 and I have a question about the use of the rings in a table cell.  I have a table that has 10 columns, and the columns are a mixture of numerical values, chains and rings - that is to say 2 columns are rings.

  The table is filled by the program (initially it will be empty).  Each of the ring cells is supposed to contain 30 values.  I've noticed that I fill the table with data in different columns, all works well - rings unless.  After filling the table, cells of the ring show only the first element that was written on the ring.  Also, when I click on the arrow to display other values in the ring, nothing is happening, i.e. There is no action to drop down at all in the ring.

  I walked through the loop in the code that makes the call to InsertTableCellRingItem to insert every element in the ring, and everything seems to work.  Return the statutes by the calls of the insert are always 0.  I also watched the TableCells example in L/CVI 8.5 and I see no real difference in the example, in what I do.

  For me, it sounds like a setting somewhere, but I was unable to understand what could be this setting.

  Any ideas?

  OK... Sorry about losing someone there is time on it.  I kept playing around and found the answer.

  The global settings for the table, it was in mode 'Column', but he was not in "Hot" mode  Once I did 'Hot', the rings started working as expected.
