Environment support UEFI HP or environment Support HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)

You have a question. I have a laptop HP 2000-2b19wm. I bought this system. It came with Windows 8. After I got it I have completely got rid of Windows 8 and IMHO set level to Windows 7 Ultimate. I deleted all partitions and let 7 configure the hard disk the way he wanted, got the drivers and so on and so forth. (not worried about security, I can handel most hardware repairs and software patches).

I looked to see if there was a new BIOS available and there was, however, I also noticed that there are two things called environment support UEFI HP and HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Support environment. I know they have to with the Diagnostics and recovery of a bad BIOS flash.

The question is this. Install HP UEFI Support Environment or environment Support HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI)?

Thank you.

Hi @bfldworker ,

Thank you for your query.

UEFI is preinstalled on your laptop.  It does not reside on the hard drive, so when you have formatted and installed Windows 7, it should not affect it.

If you want to check this press the "F2" key shorten once every second on startup (before Windows loads) and he has to show the menu.

I hope that this has answered your concerns.

  • Count lines of ColumnsetContainer supported on the Web Client INTERFACE

    Hi laurent,.

I would like to know if there is a limit to the size of lines shown in the datagrid (columnset container) on webclient UI.

As I feel a slight distortion when the number of records in the grid exceeds 1500 files and while I scroll UI distorted.

Please can you provide details about the limit of the interface user if one of the folders on the container defined column number or any other aspect of the question.

    A query more:

I used < acceptsMultipleTargets > true < / acceptsMultipleTargets > for some Type of object.

So is there a limit to select max records both in datagrid. ?

(I knew that the container set column will be disapproved of 5.5 but I use 5.1)

  • How to prepare for the change of OS?

The product name and number: HP ProBook 4740 s H5V06ES

Operating system: SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11

Initially I was planing to dual boot this laptop with Win7 but I gave up this cause of the idea of recovery and HP_Tools partitions get in the way.

I used the app to create HP Factory Image restore DVD in SLED 11. He created only wave disk.

I do not plan to delete the recovery or the HP_Tools partition is so that all I have to do before I start?

The laptop is brand new, so there is no personal files on this subject.

I wiped the entire HARD drive, installed win7 again.

I managed to recreate a HP_TOOLS on the HARD drive with the environment of Support HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) from my laptop. For this you must .NET 2 minimum and a partition on your HARD disk should be in FAT32 and named HP_TOOLS).

    Start HP_TOOLS collaborates with F2.

Before I recreated on the partition of drive I tested HP_TOOLS on USB I did and is also bootable with F2.

So to answer so many questions about the removal of the HP_TOOLS: Yes, you can safely delete HP_TOOLS partition and re-create again if you wish.

  • Hardware diagnostic tool

I have a HP Pavilion G7-1329wm running windows 7. I does not seem that hardware diagnostic tool program.  He seems to be spent on other portable HP like mine, and so I was wondering if there is a place I can download it? I used a link (sp4437.exe) I found on the forum, but after installing it, it says 'this version of diagnostic tools is not approved to run on this system. Y at - it an older version that I need?

    Thank you in advance!

Your computer uses a Diagnostics UEFI support environment to test the material for questions. Please see HP computers - UEFI and the Start Menu for instructions on using the features of Diagnostics UEFI. Hit "F2" or "ESC" then "F2" at startup should show the UEFI Diagnostics page.

Download and install the environment of Support HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) for a version update of the UEFI Diagnostics.

  • CQ57-425ER: Compaq Presario CQ57 does support UEFI?

I have Compaq Presario CQ57-425ER and you want to use Windows 8.1 GPT disk. I made a bootable USB key with Rufus (TPG-UEFI chosen option), but my laptop can not boot from the flash drive. There is a message - no boot device. Among the drivers for my laptop, I found an environment to help HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI).  Here is a description: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55477.html. I found 2 interesting points in this description: supports GPT disks and provides support for the installation of the UEFI System Partition. I tried to run this flash with windows on another laptop and it works fine. But in my laptop, I always get the message that there is no bootable media. Yes, there is a support of UEFI in CQ57? And if so, what should I do?

    Hello

This model of PC has limited support for Windows 8/8.1.  It does not support the GPT or UEFI 2.3.1 or later version.  It is the MBR only.

  • Support for UEFI BIOS

I have an IQ826t which took the HARD disk crash.  So I bought a thought of HDD 3TO it is a fairly new computer with Windows 7 Professional and it would not be a problem.  Well, it seems that the system must support UEFI and I can't find the settings in the BIOS.

If anyone knows if there is an update of the BIOS which allow UEFI?  Seems that HP does not update the BIOS for my wonderful system.

    Thank you

    Bill Cook

    Hey Bill,.

The IQ826t delivered with Vista, so if you are running windows 7 it has been upgraded. The PC was actually launched early 2009 (January 2009) is actually slightly older. UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is a new type of interface BIOS, HP Starte their use in Consumer Desktops and TouchSmarts around spring 2010. Unfortunately, there is not a way to update a UEFI BIOS. The reason to, it's because of the way it deals with space, the old BIOS version can handle hard drives up to 2.2 TB.

So unfortuately you won't be able to see all the 3 TB of this player.

    Sorry

    Bill

  • is windows 7 x 64 support MBR & GPT two partition types

is windows 7 x 64 support MBR & GPT two partition types

    Hi Afonso

It can be used as a boot volume on x 64 editions of Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. From Windows Server 2003 SP1, GPT disks can also be used as a boot on Itanium-based systems volume.
Note Windows only supports booting from a GPT disk on systems that contain startup packages Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI).

    Creation of GPT disks

You can only convert empty, no disks partitioned (raw disks or empty MBR disks) in the GPT format. To convert a volume that contains the data, you must first manually remove the partition. You can use the following methods to create GPT disks:
After you install a new disk, open the disk management console to start a wizard that allows you to configure the new drive. The wizard includes options to initialize the MBR or GPT disk.
Initialize the disk later by using the option initialize the disk in the disk management console.
Note starting with Windows Vista, you can install a Windows x 64 on a GPT disk operating system, only if the computer has UEFI boot firmware installed. However, the installation of a Windows x 64 on a GPT disk operating system is not supported on Windows XP. Try to do so gives an error.
    Readers convert GPT and MBR

You can convert a format of partition in a different format. For more information, see the TechNet articles:

  • Should I upgrade my G6-1107tx Pavilion in UEFI?

Hi HP Pro and the community.

I would like to ask should I switch from legacy to UEFI BIOS version because when I run my own driver to update research support from hp website it shows cela at:

My first question is do I need to update it because I'm worried if there will be side effects.

My second question is that we should I choose update the last being?

Thanks in advance. I appreciate for those who responded as soon as POSSIBLE...

My PC: HP Pavilion 1107tx g6

Original OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

    Current OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

Your computer supports already UEFI and it is already activated on your computer. If you have not already set it to update BIOS for HP Notebook System BIOS vF.66 update (Intel processors), you should consider to do this now. Regarding the 'Support UEFI HP environment', it's all the Diagnostic program of the HP hardware that provides hardware diagnostics UEFI based for your computer. There may be a newer version on the site of HP, but HP UEFI v5.3.1.0 support environment version for your computer will work fine.
