Envy 15 t-j100 Quad added: upgrade memory?

I was wondering if I can improve my memory on my laptop (I have 12 GB in there already)? But I can not find the specs for the laptop.

It will take up to 16 GB. You have a 8 and a 4 and you need 2 x 8s.

I have HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition laptop which currently has a 1 to 5400 RPM HARD drive. I'm looking to upgrade to SSD drive and need help with the following responses

    (1) the laptop does support more than 512 GB since the laptop computer maintenance document lists (and does not) support max 512 GB

    (2) any 2.5 SATA 3 SSD should work with the configuration given my laptop as long as its not more than 9.5 mm thick. Please confirm.

I was chatting and asking for a response for the last month 1 HP support and I have not received a positive response. Forums suggest that capacity any no where like the cat and people on HP customer service gave the following answer.

The manual list only up to 512 GB because that's all there was when the laptop was sold or just would not be a market for the 1 TB SSD. Not too long ago, they were $7-800 and beyond almost anyone means. But there is no reason that your laptop can not run a 1 TB SSD. Also, you are right. All SATA 2.5 inch wide SSD will work as long as it's not more than 9.5 mm thick. These days, almost all of them are 7 mm. I would recommend a Samsung 850 Evo but there are a lot of good ones out there. We had a set of trouble on the series MX Crucial reports, however.

  • Want 15t_j100 Quad E2E34AV Ed: 10 Windows upgrade failed - blinking display of Envy 15 t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC

Upgrade Windows 10 failed on my Envy 15 t-j100 Quad Edition laptop.

Symptom after upgrade has been a video exhibition quickly flashing without control of the PC.

I have to go back to the previous version - Windows 8.1.

Back with success on Windows 8.1

Symptoms point to video card problem after updated Windows at level 10.

My laptop has two, provided by HP online:

    Intel HD 4600 Grapics (internal)

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M

See the research, that Intel and NVIDIA have Windows 10 drivers for these graphics cards.

Yet immediately when Windows 10 signing after upgrade, the laptop display has been viewed quickly.

The only way I could get control of the laptop was CTL-ALT-DELETE to start the Task Manager.

The Task Manager showed that more CPU resources would "host setting synchronization process.

Called Microsoft Support - they indicate a likely problem with display adapter driver and advised to "go back" and then contact HP support.   called HP Support and they advised to work with Microsoft.  Great!

Would appreciate recommendations on the way forward for Windows 10.

I also see 10.18.15.4248 that place listed for the Intel HD 4600 graphics card.

Can I install both of these drivers before you upgrade Windows 10?

Both are supported on Windows 8.1?

If so, why HP Support Assistant would not have install me the upgrade?

    Am I missing something here?

Install only the softpaq grahips from Nvidia. It will allow to install the two drivers.

When I click on the button 'Download' blue, it offers two choices:

Use HP download and install the Wizard (recommended)

    Download only

This is the second option that you recommend when you say to use "usb flash drive support? Yes. Create an installer of Flash 10 Windows usb player. This is the second choice option.

  • HP Envy 17 t-j100 Quad Edition: product number mismatch

    Hello!

I'm about to upgrade to Windows 10 and have questions about my laptop.  By my initial order, the number of the product I ordered was E4S82AV, but the HP Support Assistant and the battery compartment that it is E1P14AV. When I touch E4S82AV in the issue of the product on the site Web of HP, no software or drivers are found. I have a matte screen, no touchscreen model.

Can someone tell me the difference between these two products numbers and why the one I ordered does not appear to exist on the support Web site? It's not touchscreen touch vs?

I fear that if I need software or driver updates, those under E1P14AV are really suitable for my system.

For example, I had a problem with an update by HP Support Assistant on my CyberLink PowerDVD software failure (it finally updated OK).  He had several Softpaq SP70823 and this file already exists in my folder in C:\SWSetup.  I checked the support Web site, thinking I would try to download the software from there, but I don't see that listed as an option under E1P14AV sp70823.

    Thank you!

Your Envy 17 t-j100 Quad Edition is a CTO (configure to order) machine that starts with a number of basic product which replaces a specific number of product once that order you with the card you want. Not sure about the DOWNLOAD - but not the first time neither model which has software missing from the support page.

  • HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition: replace the motherboard for HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC

    HI guys,.

I have "HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC"

    Serial number: (deleted content)

    Product number: E1P04AAR

Bought a laptp renovated off eBay from someone with thousands of positive feedbacks. It worked great for 6-7 months and then one morning it has not started up. I tried everything, called Hong Kong HP support and even bring to the service center, but was not able to get it fixed because this model was never launched in Hong Kong...

I tried calling HP we support and they would fix it for $ 300 + and that too, I send this laptop in the USA to someone I know and then HP will come from there. Is not possible.

So now what I'm trying to do is to look for the replacement of the motherboard, this is what im says does not work. I searched and found these links - I need to know if it is OK for my model?

    http://www.eBay.com/Sch/i.html?_odkw=HP+envy+motherboard&LH_PrefLoc=1&_udlo=49&_mPrRngCbx=1&LH_FS=1&...

It will be a great help if you guys allow me to know which of them is compatible with the model above.

    Thank you!!

    Hello

It's a CTO machine therefore normally only available in the United States and perhaps the Canada. Please use a portion for PC cards from the following link:

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=E1P04AAR

Again, it is a machine CTO, you should check its parts before you buy any replacement.

    Kind regards.

All you need to do is use Google or the search engine of your choice to find compatible parts. It must be done on your side, so you can find a provider on the region of the world you live in. I did a search for memory at the following link. http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/?gclid=CJDLteHhg8kCFQUGaQodvAwPGg&cm_mmc=Google-_-us-_-DRAM-_-null&ef_id=VI@KzgAAAIbDQQpP:20151109163024:s . for the SSD upgrade, it has been discussed in the following thread. I recommend using a Samsung EVO or SSD Intel. http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/hardware-upgrades-replacements/upgrading-to-SSD-on-HP-envy-15T-J100-Quad-Edition/TD-p/3542337

    Hello @paradive,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your post on your ENVY 17 t-j100 battery does not charge and wanted to tender hand for you.

The system shows the loading if you disconnect and then reconnect the battery power adapter? The question has just begun or occurred after an update or upgrade?

You can start to test and calibrate the battery and review suggestions on improving the performance of the battery.

If you haven't already done so, please make sure that you use the latest software and device drivers for your system.

I just this last year, but I think that the cd/dvd drive is dead.

If I put an audio cd, makes a lot of noise (as it tries to read it), then I opened a few media software (i.e. WMP) and it claims I have not yet have an F drive.

so if I go in "my pc", then open it from there, I'm alerted to "Please insert a disk".

    Yes, I tried several disks.

  • Can I upgrade the graphics card on my ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition

It was made with the core i7 and HD graphics card processor intel 4600 treated 12 GB of ram? Listed HP that it may have been created with the NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 740 M with 2048 MB of video memory dedicated. Hello:

You should probably pay more to improve the graphics as it would be to buy a new laptop with the graphics of 740M as the only way to replace the motherboard to update the video together.

  • HP ENVY 17 t-j100 Quad Edition: never had a lot of volume, now I don't have

The Beats Audio on this laptop never gave a lot of volume, I had to use headphones when watching a DVD, and I could barely hear anything (this has been the question since the first day of purchase). I took my laptop to a local trust MCSE certified Tech this week and it upgraded the laptop to win 10 Pro. Major issues with the upgrade, the DVD of recovery kept crashing due to a hard drive failure. I wanted to start clean because I had problems with Flash and Java, but discovered that my problems were due to my HARD drive do not as they have failed to recover, and tests showed he was wrong and gave warnings. Technology is an installation from the Microsoft site as he had the product code on the back of my laptop Pro 8.1. The tech downloaded the drivers and configure the laptop. When I picked him up he said volume was up and you should have put your ear next to the speaker to hear anything and everything was quiet. I just downloaded and installed the audio drivers from the HP site. The laptop has rebooted and guess what, I still haven't any volume of this machine. What good is having the Beats Audio system if there is no volume? Unfortunately, I never complained about this before, and my warranty ran out Dec 15. It seems that the HP machines are not worth the money, the consumer pays for them. How cdo me this laptop audio that I can hear and date the volume?  Thank you.

The little info I could find, it seems that this HP detection tool is simply a browser add-on, extension, or plug-in.

So, to stop working, you go to Chrome and follow the instructions in this link: https://community.box.com/t5/Account-Information/How-To-Disable-Plugins-Add-Ons-Extensions-In-Multiple-Browsers/ta-p/19
