Envy 17 t: keep your laptop plugged in questions

Hello

When a laptop battery 100% and is still connected to the charger, not

1. the charger wasted energy (because the laptop is already full)?

2. the laptop overheating?

3. the life expectancy decreases battery?

Thank you

Hello:

Only #3.

The duration of battery life decreases if you constantly leave that it plugged into the charger in a 100% charged state.

Please see the link below for advice on the maintenance of the battery.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01297640

If the computer is running mainly on the sector, let the battery completely discharge and recharge once a month.

It would also apply to the removable batteries.

    Hello

The best information comes from the machine system.

Batteries and loads in portable computers today are designed to stay in the computer
available to use and reload. The system more now have an automatic release of configuration which
will drain the battery a bit then are. That helps keep the battery refreshed
If the battery has more power and lasts longer.

    Hello:

Laptops today have smart cards and smart batteries which means that the adapter is supposed to stop charging the battery when the battery is fully charged.

You can keep the charger connected to the laptop, most of the time, but I suggest that you unplug the charger from the battery twice a month and run the laptop battery until you get the notification to connect to an external power source.

  • This Bios is not for your laptop!

First I started having this massage of error at startup 'System Fan (90 b)'

I searched HP's site and found several tips to resolve this.

one of the tips was to check your Bios version and to the most recent update.

    I followed the steps carefully.

1 check my bios version / date.

    2. check my cpu model.

3 open the HP website and let it detect my laptop model (and it does correctly).

    Laptop HP ENVY 14-2136nr
    Model: LM764EA #A2N

    4 select my operating system (Windows 7 X 64)

5 - Check the Bios Driver and download it.

6 - everything seemed perfect and once I try to install the driver I get this massage of error (this bios is not for your laptop!)

    HOW IS IT?

    HI @ibraham-hashem.

I see that you have a laptop of HP ENVY 14-2136nr and that you receive 90b fan error. One of the suggestions is update the BIOS, but when you tried you have received the message that it was not for your laptop.

First of all, I ran the HP Support Assistant to help with updates and solve problems.

Have you checked against viruses and malware?

I try to restore the bios, and then retry the update. Restore the BIOS

If it is not successful, I would go to the bios screen, and when you look down, you should see an option to restore the default values.  Please restore the default values.

Now, try to install the update to the bios.  Updated the BIOS

    I hope this helps.

  • Basic tips to keep your printer running longer.

Everyone whats to get the most for their money, but many people do not know or realize, that you have to put in a little effort to keep things smooth.  Just as if you want your car to last for 1 million miles, you need to do regular maintenance.  If you want printer last more than 2 years, you must do a regular maintenance for her as well.  Granted it is not oil to change, or the transmission to the service, but there are rollers that need cleaned and nozzles that need to rinse.

For all the problems I have all come to work on printers, one I saw put more that it's fair share of printers low is the simple paper jam.  The jam itself is rarely the culprit.  The error message is normally what causes the need for replacement.  The error message might get stuck on the screen and turn your printer brick quite expensive.  The best way to avoid this problem is to not get a paper jam.  Paper jams are actually fairly easy to avoid.  Just a simple cleaning of the rollers with a lint cloth (coffee filter or lens tissue are best, but paper towels work in a pinch) and bottled water are the best things to use.  The lint cloth and water bottles are free of contaminants and ensure that any partial microscopic don't stay on the rolls.  If you're wondering which rolls to own, a good rule of thumb is just to clean one of them you can see and reach safely.  Remember to turn off and unplug the printer before performing any cleaning or before you get into the machine.  You must clean the rolls at least once every six months earlier if you have a problem of dust.

The next thing I saw leading printers must be replaced, was a print head that was out.  If the printhead goes out, the only options are to replace the print head or the printer if the print head is not replaceable.  Which can be expensive anyway.  The best things you can do to keep your print head is to let your printer is a regular maintenance, clean the print head no matter when you replace an ink cartridge and align the print head no matter when you replace an ink cartridge.  The steps to follow those who depend on the printer you have.  You should be able to find more information a cleaning and print head alignment here.

Something I have seen a lot, but never really caused replacements, were related to food.  Most of the customers of HP don't know that the printer they bought was built in the surge protector.  It is to have important information.  The reason why it is important is because if you plug a surge protector in an another surge protector, or power strip protector, the device you're trying to power, no matter what it is, will not be able to get all the power they need.  This is very true for printers.  Printers have a sleep mode, which reduces the power they use.  When the printer goes to wake up, it consumes more energy than normal, and a power strip or surge protector, be read as a hint of power, however the built in surge protector knows what is happening.  The first protector of power surge or power strip, will block the necessary extra power and cause errors on the printer.  To avoid this, simply plug the printer directly into a wall outlet.  If a socket cannot be made available, use an extension cord to power the printer from another outlet directly.

These are the three main things I noticed that cause people to have to replace their printers at the beginning.  Now these things won't keep things of bricking of your printer, but it will go a long way to prevent them.

    I hope this helps.

    JNMilan,

It is not possible. You must use a third-party software to do or contact the manufacturer.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

They are smart enough to get money from customers, but there are other ways to solve it, and as I don't have an answer from someone to solve so I did it my way.

You need following things and a bit of work to solve the

    • External drive WD at least 20 GB of free space
    • An additional computer / laptop to make bootable USB
    • BootCD Hiren CD or Acronis True ImageSoftware (first available for free and a second trial can do magic)

Follow below steps and you "ll do work

    • Insert your hard drive in computer (that came with your laptop)
    • Reset or run recovery on your computer
    • After a successful Installation
    • Download Acronis True Image or use HIREN CD/USB to use acronis to---> make a bootable USB stick (you can make usb bootable of their trial version as well)
    • Restart your system and boot with Acronis Bootable USB or HIREN USB or a CD Hiren
    • Now make a BACKUP of your entire DRIVE DISC and save the image on your WD drive - remember all the disc not a few partitions (it takes an hour to complete.
    • When it's done to Shut Down the Laptop and connect your new hard drive to it
    • Yet once start from ACRONIS or HIREN and then run the RESTORE disc
    • Select WD hard drive image and let it run on any disk (even takes one hour)
    • When it's done, turn off your computer
    • Remove all USB and WD drive

It is quick and your recovery disc and HP Recovery USB will work also on it

  • Keep your PC until it is done. Updated 27 47

My laptop Acer Aspire V5-571 is running Windows 8.1 and hung up during an update for about 4 hours now. When I shut down and restart using the power button, it returns the same blue screen with the circle of rotation points, displaying the message "keep your PC until this." Updated 27 of 47 "installation. The keyboard and the touch screen do not respond. I'm running Avast free antivirus and do not any recent change in hardware or software. Basically I can't do anything with the laptop at this point. How can I get out of this situation?

    Hello Yann,

Thank you for your response. I waited about a day for the update to restart, but the locked condition has not changed. The PC was completely insensitive to the keyboard and the touch screen. Then, I did what you are not supposed to do and powered down and back up with the power button. That I go back to the previous message without change. Then, I turned off the PC and removed the battery for about 10 minutes, thinking I had nothing to lose. When I reinstalled the battery and powered, the update is resumed at the 27 update and finished.

I guess the update file has been altered because of our internet connection is slow. The PC seems to work normally since the update.
