[Envy dv6t Quad Edition laptop] Can I change my graphics card?

Laptop: HP dv6t Quad Edition Envy

Proccessor: Intel 3rd gen i7

RAM: 16 GB

Operating system: Windows 8 64-bit

The current graphics card I have in my laptop is the Nvidia Geforce GT M 635. I was just wondering, it would be possible for me to change the current graphics card Say... the Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 M? I tried to search if the GTX card is compatible with most laptops, but have not found a solid answer.

What is the full product name and the product number of your laptop? Post so I can watch the BIOS updates to see if improvements to the one you asked. So far, it's a no-go on this one. I know when you share your product number or name of the product with us.

On further inspection of the improvements in the BIOS for both models, I can tell you that the Nvidia GTX 660 M is currently incompatible with the motherboard of your laptop.

What is a desire dv6t-7200 or 7300 series?

7200-7300 series CTO will accept these

Best regards

ERICO

Sorry to say, but it is not really practical change your video card - although it's called a 'map', it is actually physically soldered to the motherboard and therefore, is not an evolutionary element.

  • HP probook 4545 s: can I change my graphics card

Hi I have a Hp probook 4545 s and I use it a lot for the games and I was wondering if I could change to improve performance on my most demanding games. Thank you!

    Hello @qwerty6905 ,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do to commercial Forums.

Even if it is a Commercial product, the graphics card is attached to the motherboard on laptops and is related to the processor. Change the graphics card was very expensive and not a guarantee. Here is a link that might help improve performance on your system.

    Thank you.

    Hello:

There is no graphics "card" in your notebook that can be removed and replaced, as they can in many Office PC.

The graphics card in your laptop is part of the motherboard, and to improve the graphics, the entire motherboard must be replaced by another which is listed in the service manual for your laptop that can have better graphics.

  • Satellite L500-1GK - can I change the graphics card?

    HEY! I need help

I'm a graphic designer and use Satellite L500-1GK. I found that the VGA is not good enough. The resolution is not really good enough for a designer

Manufacturer of the graphics card: Intel®
    type: Mobile Intel® GMA 4500 M
memory: available total graphics memory can be up to 1 340 MB with 3 GB of memory and 32-bit operating system system or 1 759 MB with a 64 - bit OS system memory and 4 GB
    memory type: shared

Is that what I can do to get the best resolution? Whatever he rib that I am able to change the VGA? is there a solution with that can you help me?

    Hello

Unfortunately it is not possible to change the graphics card. It s fixed/soldered on the motherboard and can't be exchanged. Sorry, but it is not possible to s.

But if you only need a better resolution of the screen, you can connect an external monitor. Here, you can work with a higher resolution if your monitor supports it.

  • I can't change my graphics card

I just bought my new 17 Alienware (with GPU GTX 780 M) last month, but so far I can't yet change my graphics from the first day. Whenever I try to spend (Fn + F5), a window opens on "Switchable graphics key detected. "Click Yes to activate (a system restart is required) or no to cancel. When to choose Yes, and after restart, the discreet graphics card simply disappear. Is it an evil to my operation, or it's just a system error. Why I can't move the graphics card as I did in my Alienware M15x?

    QUESTION:

I had no sound * on the 'go get' speakers (that is, from the cooktop for the first time). I say no sound with an asterisk (*) because it makes noise, just everytime he tries to make the sound he is supposed to make ends up looking like a noise low echo a little sound for a movie like "Friday the 13th" when Jason is lurking in the Woods (i.e., cheh-Shh-Shh-Shh... kah-ka-ka-ka). At no point has the appropriate sound has played from the speakers (start, stop and everything in between)... it was either the noise low echo or a sequence of tick-tick-tick sounds.

    TRIED SO FAR:

So far, I tried to solve problems by using the information below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03257712

I tried each of the 'steps', but none of them are able to solve the problem. I should mention that it runs that diagnostic stuff are not errors... it seems to "think" the speakers work as it should.

I've seen many "solutions" here who describe the new drivers download (even though when I clicked on the audio driver update, it said it was updated). It makes sense, why one would need to do if the computer came originally pre-loaded with Windows 7 and the new OS W8 won't play nice with all the drivers existing, but I guess for me it is not make sense why a brand new computer which has Windows 8 pre-loaded would be defective right out of the box like that. Quality control does not check if the speakers correctly? Or could it just be a flaw introduced somewhere in the process of packing/shipping-related?

I would phone HP and request repair under warranty. Select your country here for the info page > Contact HP Envy The series has a separate section on the page of phone numbers.
