  Somehow my diary of the administrator password does not work. I tried everyting. I use Windows Vista.

  I continue to be asked to provide a 'A' floppy to recover my password, but there is no floppy drive on my computer.  I have not configured a retreival diskette.

  I am not able to access all the programs that I installed as an administrator through the comments log in.

  I tried to re - install the complete operating system after no longer being able to access my programs and I am not allowed to do it either.

  I'm sorry but the Microsoft forum rules do not help users circumvent passwords of Windows OS or software systems.

  I do not understand why you have problems with re-setup because it has nothing to do with your original administrator password. Your copy of Windows came pre-installed on your PC or did you buy a boxed copy and install it yourself?

  If you are unable to re - install probably you get error messages. What these error messages?

  I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now.   You can try the following.

  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

  Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

  The pop3 Checker will not work with apop.  Apop Protocol requires that we send a MD5 hash with the user name.  We can, adding this ability.  In the meantime, you can simply use the Socket TCP Checker to make sure that the port is up and listening.
