Hello

To me, it seems that your HARD drive is dead.
SMART stands for self-monitoring, analysis and Reporting technical and it s a feature that reports errors with your HARD drive.

The error is clear to me; a fault has been detected on the HARD drive.
Now, the laptop can not boot into the Windows operating system because the operating system is not found. Why? Because the HARD drive seems to be dead.

In my view only new HARD drive could help!

Good bye

Currently my hard drive (750 GB) is having a problem. I have a spare hard drive (500 GB), I can replace the 750Go with the 500 GB hard drive using the recovery disks that I created when I got the pc?

    Hello:

All I can say is that you have nothing to lose to give a try.

500 GB could be sufficient to allow the recovery discs, you did to work.

  • the hard drive of my computer is purchased full.i a drive.how external hard change outside the primary disk so I can download music easily?

the hard drive of my computer is purchased full.i a drive.how external hard change outside the primary disk so I can download music easily.right now my external backup just my computer that isn't doing me good

    original title: external hard drives

You don't want to change your external drive to your main drive.

You can move your music files on the external drive - or you can move other data on the disk to make room for your music on the internal drive.

What applications do you use to play music?

As described in the first link below, you can move your full "My Documents" folder on the external drive.  Alternatively, you can simply move your music files.  If such an arrangement would give you a satisfactory performance, however, depends on how your external drive is connected (for example, USB 1.1, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire, network) and other hardware features of your computer.

Not all of the following conditions will be applied to you, but some of the tips can be useful.

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive.   You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you.  Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.

    • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
    • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
    • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
    • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
    • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
    • You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)

" How to recover disk space on Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP computers? ."

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive.  If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location.  You can not simply move the files.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook v024ca 14: SMART disk error

    Hello

My laptop says SMART disk error.  This occurred just after installing windows 10.

SMART errors mean that the hard drive is about to fail.  If the laptop really is "still covered under warranty.", then have a talk with the support to have it fixed.

I have a Mac mini that I bought 4-5 years ago and have been using it without any problem.

However, yesterday when I try to wake my mac mini I get a black screen with only the cursor.

I force turn off the system and restarted, and then use disk utility.

I immediately noticed that the only partition of my Mac mini is highlighted in red, and the SMART status showing as failure.

There is also a warning saying that my hard drive has a hardware problem that cannot be repaired and suggested to save all possible files.

When I try to make the permissions and disk checks, all reports like OK.

I'll do a backup in case where, but curious, it is always possible to use Time Machine to back up to this point?

I also need to back up my settings browsers and programs if it is still possible. Any help is very appreciated.

Chapter 3 of the service manual indicates that you can go to a 500 GB 7 200 RPN SATA II HDD.

I recommend these to this provider if you live in the United States.

As far as I know, you can buy or order the recovery here disc:

    This problem very strange s.
Could you please tell me if this problem occurs after you reinstall the OS from the Toshiba Recovery CD?
I read on several forums of Vista that some Microsoft Vista updates may have a bad influence on the touchpad driver
Therefore, it would be very interesting to know if this problem appears immediately after the use of the recovery CD.

  • Pavilion 4070 - us: new hard drive for the recovery disks do not work! Help!

Hi - the hard drive on my Pavilion 4070 - crashed us, so I bought a replacement - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB drive.  The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery disks to work, and neither Microsoft nor HP is willing to help me.  Of course, Microsoft tells me they don't give me any help for Windows7 OEM versions and HP said that my product is no longer supported so they do not help me.  This is ridiculous - I own a legal copy of Windows 7 and I can't get any help from the company who sold me the computer?

What happens when I go through the process of installation with the recovery discs, is that instead of the Windows installation continue as it is supposed to, I have "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."  I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimum image recovery, the other was a factory restore.  Nothing seems to work. What can I do?   Moreover, the original hard drive is not * completely * dead - I can still access most of the data on it.

Have you tried to format the HARD disk until you try to use the recovery disk?
Sometimes, I read in the forum that this may solve the problems with the recovery disk and so you can take the Windows XP disc or another tool that is able to format the drive.

But after that, you have the Toshiba recovery disc. You are not able to use the HARD drive recovery feature.

  • Equium A60 Notebook failure during the update of the BIOS

    Hello
My computer crashed during the BIOS update recommended to treat the blue screen error message. I have turned it off completely and now it won't start at all. No lights turn on or it's like there is no power getting to the machine. My outlet does work as I have tested. This could mean my battery is dead? I tried to remove and clean the contacts or the update of the BIOS had something to do with it?

    Thank you
    Phil

Hi, Phil the A60 sometimes fails started well only very rarely that incidentally that happened to me once. To solve this problem requires the removal and re-sitting of the battery pack. However, in your case, it sounds very likely the BIOS update has failed unfortunately is a return trip to Toshiba.

  • Smart disk error disk 1 fast (303)

    Hello

303 error seems to indicate your drive is failing and must be replaced.

A possible way to try to recover your files from a disk non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data even a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/use-Ubuntu-Live-CD-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-Windo...

To reinstall the operating system on the new drive that you install, you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • HP probook 4445 s... Smart disk error

I have a hp probook 4445 s.  win-8. 32-bit problem is smart disc error... why this required problem... How to solve this problem... Thank you...

The result of the test hard drive means that the hard drive needs to be replaced. If you are still able to connect to Windows, then do it as soon as possible and copy everything you want to save to an external drive.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP for a warranty replacement drive. free standard warranty is one year from the date of purchase. Check the status of the guarantee

You will need your recovery disk series or usb recovery media that you have created previously in order to perform a recovery image of origin on the replacement hard drive.

The following picture of the maintenance of your laptop & guide service shown compatible alternative specifications or hard disks in option. You can also use an SSD if it has sufficient storage capacity.
