Equium A60-173: stops often

Hey guys, I have a problem with my laptop, that he often cut only when something like a scan virus and when I start up again it reconise even that windows didn't close properly. I checked and it is not a problem with the power supply.
So I was just wondering if it is a serious problem and if it can be fixed?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Jon

On this path, it is not easy to give you 100% correct answer, but I presume that the unit overheating if the CPU usage is very high (such as the analysis of the HARD drive).

Unit turns off suddenly without any warning?

My laptop turns off suddenly, it comes to a complete stop, I thought it was the battery had blown or something so I bought a new.

I put it on and it started working. Everything suddenly after an hour or two use it turns off again. Same thing happens again, just total shutdown, fresh does or anything like that.

Can someone let me know what is the problem with him?
    See you soon

In my opinion the laptop automatically stops because it is overheating!
This is a common behavior if the temperature reaches the critical level.

The laptop supports protection against overheating and this protection prevents the equipment from damage!

I recommend that you check the modules of cooling for dust and debris, and if necessary to clean!
You can do it by using a jet of compressed air!
Those air sprays you can buy from every laptop or computer!
Then clean the fans and check if this can help resolve this problem automatically shut downs!

  • Must disable Touchpad tapping Equium A60-173

OK, so my father, I bought a laptop a few years and now it has forwarded to me. I am wanting to turn off tapping it on the button, but I can't find an option to do so.
I installed a new copy of Windows XP Pro, so there may be some missing drivers that come on the recovery CD.
I tried to find all the drivers, but I can't find my notebook anywhere. I ran the Toshiba program that is supposed to detect what laptop you have, but it came with nothing when I ran it and I also searched in the drivers on the Toshiba site section, but my laptop does not even appear in the choice of laptops.

It is a Toshiba Equium and on the back, he said Equium A60-173 and the model number is PSA67E-00700C8J.

So, if someone can tell me please how to disable the tapping on the touch pad that would be great. I can't disable the touchpad entirely because of course I want to control the mouse pointer.

I saw a post that said to press Fn and F9, but has nothing, probably because I don't have the correct drivers installed.

    Any help would be great.

    Hey Buddy,

The touchpad tapping function can be disabled in the options of the touchpad driver. FN + F9 key combination to disable the touchpad together so it s another function.

The tapping function can be disabled if the touchpad drivers are installed. If you install Windows on a normal disc from Microsoft no drivers are installed and everything you need to install yourself. If you are using the Toshiba recovery that all disk drivers and tools are installed automatically because it contains a picture of the factory settings. Recovery disk is more comfortable.

All the drivers and tools you need now can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
    * Archive * > Equium > Equium A60 > PSA67E

As you can see you only need to search the Archives to find the drivers ;)

  • Equium A60-173 PSA67E does not start

I don't have a model Equium: Equium A60-173 (PSA67E-00700C8J) that will not start.

It tries to start hard drive turns, the fan starts, the dvd drive light flashes, the hard disk light flashes and then he died.

Battery life is very good, charger/power supply is fine.
Lights on the front shows the unit is on and the battery is being charged, they all light green.

I removed everything, left power and removed the battery for an hour, but it still will power not on.

    Any ideas?

It looks like a faulty motherboard, but it is not easy to say.

You have already removed the battery and the AC adapter and waited upward at the time, so you have to go to an ASP and ask a technician for help. They can check your laptop and exchanging parts.

On the Toshiba site, you can search an ASP:

  • Equium A60-173 does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello people,

I downloaded a BIOS updated toshiba for my Equium A60 - 173 and while it was loading on, restarted my laptop. Now, whenever I turn it on, the power light comes on for a few seconds, there is nothing on the screen and then it turns off again. I'm really worried, I've done some serious damage. I know a bit of the BIOS, but not that much. I need help, this is how I put a BIOS on here if I can't turn it on and the current one is damaged. Is it possible to get the loaded BIOS on without being able to turn it on?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Concerning
    James

You could try to remove the battery, wait 2 minutes and then go back, however he only its not very likely that your BIOS update was not successful. If I remember correctly when I flashed my A60-181 this process takes about 10 minutes. If your laptop prematurely reloaded until the program has finished, I'm afraid you have no choice but to send new to Toshiba to be fixed.

  • Equium A60 - 173: A the wireless card or not?

I wana to know either my laptop (EA60-173)
has the wireless card or not. If so then I can set it up

    Hello

Each unit with wireless card has a label of WiFi in the lower corner, and the card is also listed in Device Manager. Unfortunately I found the info Equium A60 isn't ready WiFi and only solution is the card PCMCIA WLAN or same USB.

  • "ati2dvag.dll" has stopped working on Equium A60 - 173

I posted this problem before, but despite the advice I got to reinstall the drivers from the Toshiba site. Unfortunately the problem persists. What is happening is that the display shuts off for a few seconds then reappear with a very low resolution, and an error message saying the ati2vag has stopped working. It happens spontaneously, without apparent reason, but if I connect to any type of device memory USB that sometimes "invites" the crash.

The web search seems to indicate that I am not alone with this problem. Someone at - he found a final solution or explanation as to why this happens, and what I can do to stop it before as I entrust the Tosh in the trash.

Just another thought, should I delete old drivers ATI through Add/Remove programs before installing the new drivers?

What is happening on the screen if I delete before reinstalling? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm not computer savvy.

    Thank you
    John

    Hello

Ati2dvag.dll file belongs to the whole of the graphics card!
I saw this message on different laptops with the ATI graphics card! Sometimes it seems after a long time the graphics driver malfunctions or does not work as it should!

Have you tried to use the graphics driver on the site omegadrivers.net?
Several people have reported an improvement!

    > should I remove old drivers ATI through Add/Remove programs before installing the new drivers
Usually it of not necessary to remove the old driver first! You can install the new driver on the old!
In this case he must go into Device Manager and use the update driver option

  • Equium A60-173 does not work after bios update

Computer laptop girls. A lot of windows screen blue/broken files. Who sets. Site Web de Toshiba says 1.8 bios c can stop it again - Web site also announces 1.90 bios. To go with this...

Tried to Flash the Bios 1.90 which you have to do in the (stupid) windows. Naturally it hangs during the "preparing for the bios update", with only 15% of progress. WAITED a very long time (30-45 minutes) - no progress took place. Had to turn off the machine and had clearly not worked.

Now the machine will even not respond to the switch. I was expecting a momentary start - but it's like the power switch has been disconnected. Actually attaching the power supply does not even turn on the power light!

Can a flash failure turn off the machine so much?
Or would it be another fault (as well!)?

    Thanks for the tips...

    > Not waited a very long time (30-45 minutes) - no progress has occurred. Had to turn off the machine

Looks like you broke upward from the procedure of updating the BIOS and it's deadly!
I put t see any other possibility as to contact the ASP in your country for assistance!

Maybe you are a lucky man and module ROM on the motherboard is not damage and must be flashed only
Please note that the update of the BIOS is risky! If you use an incorrect BIOS or update wrong procedure can damage the MB

  • Equium A60-173 PSA67E: WLan card supports the Orange Livebox router

This is my first post so please accept if he is not writing to apologize.

I have the laptop above and would like to know if it would be compatible with a wireless network card to connect to my Livebox Orange router?

    Thanks in advance.

    Neil

First of all, are you sure that your laptop is equipped and supplied with the internal WLan card 100%?
I m not sure but I think that this phone does not support the Wlan?  :|

In any case, if the minPCI wireless network adapter is not available, you can use an external WLan solution as a key USB WiFi. These sticks are cheap and easy to install.

I talk to you I recommend checking out the Livebox Orange router specifications. You know what Wlan standard is supported. You know the Wlan standards?
    I mean the standard 802.11 A, B, G or N most recent standard

B and G standards are best known and no longer supported.

Well well, to cut this story; You must use the card/WLan USB WLAN which supports the WLan standard even as your WLan router ;)

  • Equium A60 - 173 memory Question

Hey guys, I just used the recovery disk to reinstall windows xp after that I had a few problems and now when I look at the information system, it is said that the total physical memory is 512 MB, but the available physical memory is only 151 MB I was wondering why it is so low that I have not yet installed all the programs and this has something to do with me using the disk of recovery?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm not sure about this, but I think your laptop is just currently using 151MB, because there is no need to use all 512 MB. Maybe this can be changed in the BIOS or so.

    Good bye

  • Equium A60 - 173 died without reason

Hey guys, twice this week that my laptop has just turned off itself without reason, that he kept everything exploded. I was just wondering if he would do this cause of overheating or if it's a more serious problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Well, if the laptop turns off automatically, it could be an overheating problem.
I have this case you should check if the vents are working properly. You can try to clean with vacuum. If this procedure doesn't help you should contact ASP because the device overheating is a serious problem and it cannot be used to service partner.

    Good bye

  • Re: Equium A60-199 stops intermittently

Hi, hope you could help me with a problem iv been with my laptop recently, it seems to go off at different stages.

    prechecks-

    1. take battery out and running AC adapter (problem)
2 changed a work known and verified adapter adapter (problem)

-(la première fois après avoir nettoyer l'ordinateur portable démarré dans windows et était très bien pour environ 15 minutes, il éteint puis quand le ventilateur semblait venir?)

I read on the internet that it could be an overheating problem, and the fan is may be defective.

    What I've done so far-

    1. clean the air vents with a jet of air to remove all dust (just a little came out, but not much)

    2. laptop computer disassembled and checked for dust in the heat sink for - no dust to clean (internal parts all seem to own)

_Other info_ - lights at the front of the laptop (battery and taking pictures) turn on and turn off every 5 seconds.

If anyone knows anything else I can try, I would be grateful

    Phil

    > I read on the internet that it could be an overheating problem, and the fan is may be defective.
Yes, your problem sounds described as overheating but it can not happen because the fan is defective but because dust and debris to prevent cooling modules work correctly.
The vents may be blocked, and the fans might not run with full speed.

In this case, that the cooling modules must be cleaned I did several times because my portable temperature has increased at a higher level
I used the jet of compressed air, you can buy it in the shops of computers or some online dealers

I removed the dust from the fans and after this short intervention and cooling grids, the laptop runs more quiet and faster
