Equium A60 - defective power cable

The power supply for my laptop began to divide and although I have wrapped in insulating the split tape, it still does more. Annoyingly, the separation is the wire that connects the computer (which is attached to the battery), so I think they're pretty difficult/expensive to purchase.

Anyone know where I could get a new track that doesn't cost the Earth?

Thank you very much!

Hello

they are not very expensive, this site-> http://www.pcupgrade.co.uk/productdetails.asp?ProductID=3146&categoryid=368 wants only 40 pounds for a such AC, so if you use "Google.com" and type 'Equium A60 Ac adapter', you will get many results on adapters CA / CC for Equium A60... :)

Good luck

  • Equium A60-155 - touchpad cable required

    Hi guys,.

Recently, my mousepad on my laptop has stopped working. So I took it to a computer to check it out.
He concluded that the cable that connects the mousepad on the motherboard had a small tear in there that cut through some of the metal strips.

So I am buying a new internal cable of mousepad from somewhere but I can't find anywhere that sells it.
MY warranty has run out and I do not get a response from technical support Toshiba (at least not yet).

Anyone know where I can get the Toshiba Equium A60 - 155 Mousepad cable that connects the motherboard to the United Kingdom?

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hello

Generally, all Toshiba laptop parts could be bought of the ASP in your country.
I think that guys would be able to order directly from Toshiba.

If one of the local FSA does not, then try another service point.

Here you can find the database with all of the ASP s worldwide:

http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/-> support Download Center &-> find an authorized service provider

  • Equium A60-692-power - laptop gets no power

    Hey

My Equium A60 - 692 has ceased all powered by the AC adapter (though I measured it and its give a good 19v). I noticed the end of the adapter (the end that goes into the laptop) is different from the normal ones. Rather than having a hole in the center that integrates a pic on the laptop, it's just got a piece of flat metal. Wondering that was normal and the problem is inside your computer laptop or if the latter has somehow broken and is stuck in the adapter. It looks like its supposed to be that way, but it seems a little weird...

    see you soon

    HELLO Rodders,

I fear bad news. The flat piece of metal that you describe is the rear part of the central axis that broke inside the power jack on your laptop. It is quite a common phenomenon (check some other posts on these forums).

Unfortunately, the solution to this problem is for your authorized Service partner nearest replace the motherboard (expensive!) unless you can find someone ready to weld in a new socket.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    Kind regards

  • Equium A60 - 155 Power Supply Problem

    Hey guys,.

I've had my laptop for several years now, but it was replaced a few times is not so old.
I have problems with my battery to charge, I thought it was the power adapter that was the problem until I bought a new one and it would not load.

When I used to plug in the charger it works if the lead was bent at an angle, now it won't work at all... So I think that there is a problem... as with the port it charges through internally.
If anyone has any help with how to fix this or how it will be cost to fix the help would be appreciated so much!

In addition, my warranty has run out so this is a no go.
    Thank you, Rebecca.

    Hello Rebecca

Sorry, but I think that there is nothing that you can do it alone. The laptop needs to be tested with special tools and this should be done by technicians.
To write something on the price isn't easy because I think that the prices are not the same for each authorized, service provider

I don't know where you live, but I recommend you check out http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ > support & downloads > find an ASP. You will find the addresses and phone numbers. Connect with some of them in your country and ask for prices.

  • Equium A60-692 - no power and removing the HARD drive

The power has gone on my A60-692, the adapter is ok but there is just no no LED on the laptop. I had to get replaced a few years ago so maybe it is related to that of the power connector.

I took to a local repair place, he said, it would cost more to fix this, so I should really find it useful laptop only think about recover my data.

Is it really so hard to fix these things?
How hard is it to make the hard drive out, & how would then access down my data?

    Thank you
    Dave

    Hello

    > I took to a local repair place, he said, it would cost more to fix this, so I should really find it useful laptop only think about recover my data.
I agree with the authorized service provider. My personal opinion is that it s a malfunction of the motherboard and it is a very expensive part. Besides, Equium A60 is pretty old model so it would be better buy you a new laptop and recover your data.

    > How difficult is it to make the hard drive out, & how would then access down my data?
It of not difficult, but I m really wondering why you need access to these data. You don t have a backup? In my opinion the backup is the most important thing you need to do on a computer.
Anyway, normally on the underside of your laptop there is a HARD drive cover which is guaranteed by one or two screws. You must remove this cover and then you can see the HARD drive and you're able to remove it.
Also buy an external HARD drive enclosure where you can install the HARD drive. Then you can connect it to another computer to back up your data. ;)

  • Of crashes/blue Equium A60 laptop screen when the LAN cable is in?

    Hi all
I have a laptop Toshiba Equium A60 which now extends for less than a year.
    I am running WinXp Sp2

Yesterday, my laptop started to plant flashing a blue screen (not the time to see what he says that the computer reboots too quickly).

I found that only apparently failed when the network cable is connected for example if I start the laptop, it will be put in service as usual, but when it starts to communicate with the network/router (I see glancing at blue screens in the lower Task Bar to the right), it crashes. I tried another port on the router but no luck.

Is my network card: Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

It works well in Safe mode and doesn't crash.

I updated the driver but and it's always the same.

I then decided to restore my laptop to factory/day via the Toshiba Recovery DVD.

When it worked fine all day restored (had internet access via the network) until I clicked on: set up a home network or small business in the control panel. He crashed again in the same way. Now it will crash repeatedly like above.

This could be a problem with my cable?
    Help, please... Any ideas?

    Thank you for the charges,
    Shay

    Hello

If the network connection works fine, it is not necessary to set it up again. I guess there are conflicts and the unit freezes. In my opinion there is no problem with the hardware or with your cable with the network settings.

  • Equium A60-199: question on the colors of the button power/powerlight

I was wondering if someone could explain why the power button on my Equium A60-199 changed from its usual blue to a Pink/Purple mix, and also why usually green power light on the front of the laptop has changed to amber.

    Thank you.

If the powerbutton is Pink/Purple and your amber powerlight, that means that your machine is in mode. This happens usually when the computer has been configured with a power that leaves your machine goes mode sleep after using only not in a period of time.

Or you have vista and click on the button in the Startmenu which supposedly should stop the machine but rather switch to standby.

    That's all.

    Welcome them

  • Equium A60 with defective built in memory

    Hello

I tried to recover my Equium A60 with the recovery DVD and it does not boot to windows. I tried to install a number of different versions of windows and the error messages lead me to the conclusion that the module memory is faulty. The system came with 256 MB of memory and it is hard because it is part of the motherboard. My question is if I buy a memory module and install it in the expansion slot will be it be prevented from working by the faulty memory?

    Post edited by: binkey1st

    Hey Kevin,

There is unfortunately no way to isolate the faulty RAM on your motherboard. Even if you install a second module of RAM the system always tries to use the built in so defective module.

You will need to take you laptop to an ASP for the defective replace module.

    Kind regards

  • Equium A60-157 will not power

    Hi people!

Could someone offer a bit of expertise and tell me whether or not the series Equium A60 - 157 has a center pin in its socket? I need to know that my laptop doesn't have one and it will not power! I'm deeply frustrated because I paid at the time £999 and it doesn't work!

I have a feeling that the PIN has cracked and is now part of my dc adapter but I need to be sure before I get it fixed!

Also if this is the case anyone Kow how much it may cost to do fix an indicative maybe!

    Cheers for your help!

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Yes, I think the A60 use an outlet that has a central pin. The CAP at the end of the head of the AC must have a central hole. You can find that the spindle broke and is now stuck in the plug on the power cord. This is not a rare event on the series of satellites, laptops.

The bad is more Servicers will simply replace the motherboard (where the socket is together) rather than perform a repair to the component level. It is obviously a costly option for you, but is probably more faster/easier for the repairman.

I have, in the past, tried unsuccessfully to find a source for the plug for my A30 (just in case) but I only managed to find a supplier who could provide a component of second hand provided by a junk motherboard. :-(

    Kind regards

I am looking for a power cord for my laptop L10 - 300 and I was wondering which would be the right model of Toshiba to buy, because I'm not sure.

Do you need a power cable or the whole power adapter?  :|

    The sector adapter you need is: PA3396E - 65W - 19V - 3. 42 a - 100 ~ 240V

It can be ordered from the ASP in your country!

  • Equium A60-191: number of Modem - only an analog phone lines are supported

My Equium A60 has been turned on when lightning struck nearby and caused the power supply turn off and turn back on.

The OS is XP Home and my ISP is AOL. When I try to access the Net with DUN, I get the repeated error message:

"Connected phone line is not compatible with this modem. Only analog phone lines are supported. »

My desktop computer, which also uses AOL, always connects to the same phone line with no problems.

I restarted the A60 several times; changed and I tried the 2 phone connection cables - both work; the phone line works very well; I reinstalled the driver provided on this site; removed the tick from the box that says to wait for the telephone line; verified that the modem is working and on the Device Manager list. All this is in vain.

Convenience store suggests that COM 3 is not enabled. I don't see that com 3 listed in the device under Ports Manager.

I tried Google and ASK with the error message. There is not a lot of posts, and it seems that the Toshiba modem is actually an Agere. This fact seems to be the object of some of the complaints.

Finally, I uninstalled the driver/modem, AOL and another DUN connection. I restarted and went through the process of installing AOL and "new hardware". While the modem is on and allegedly working... I am still unable to connect to the Net. I reinstalled an additional 'pay as you go' ISP. When I try to dial a number on which it generates error 680. It does this even when the box is unchecked, to wait for a dial tone.

I would be very grateful if someone could help it. I'm out of ideas.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

You are right, the modem supports the Modem Agere chip.
You won't find the COM3 in the Device Manager for the modem uses a non-real com port. It s virtual com port.

I think you should start the diagnostic tool test and check if the Modem has no malfunction.
Additional you must remove the connection in the region Select utility and after restarting again create a new.

I also found useful Microsoft article on troubleshooting network and dial-up connections.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/trouble_all.mspx?mfr=true

and you'll find info on the error of DUNS 680:

  • Motherborad Exchange on Equium A60-155

    Hello

can anyone help please. I have an Equium A60-155 dead (PSA67E-00300C8J).
This laptop I had since and is awesome, I recently spilled and that pushed the power in unity cable adapter, initially when running back (as it was off when he went) it worked, I noticed that the adapter has been pressed and waved it I heard it I think has a little spark and now the laptop tries to fire for a few seconds and turns off now I think the motherboard is dead and I am able to buy a motherboard to another model satellite A60-152 PSA67E-00200D8J, but can't find any information about this model.

Someone know if I can put my p4 2.8 in this forum and use it or have a plug on this forum?
If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
    Thank you very much
    Colin

    Hi mate

You can use another motherboard to another satellite or Satellite A60.
But the stronger CPU depends on the chipset located on your motherboard.
You should first check the specifications of the chipset, and then you know what CPU would be compatible.

But note; replacing the motherboard is delicate. I doubt you could do this without additional assistance of a technician. In addition the DMI and firmware must be updated after the replacement of the mobo. This is necessary because the CPU would stick with 600 Mhz if the microcode would not be updated. This can be done by a technician of ASP.

That's why I donation to recommend t this is

  • Equium A60 - 157 HELP Card/PCMCIA wireless network!

    Hi all!

This problem has been frustrating me for at least 2 months.

OK, I recently bought a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card (wifi card).
The first time I installed the wifi card it worked perfectly. I powered
extinguish your laptop (after I had finished working on it). The next day
When I turned the laptop on, you guessed it, the wifi card was not
work. I did not remove the wifi card for the power off/power on stage.

When I went into Device Manager, a yellow exclamation point was
above the wifi card. When I looked at the properties of wifi cards, I found the
    following message appears:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

I tried unistalling and reinstalling the wifi card. I tried to use the latest Belkin drivers for the wifi card. Sometimes it works, but when I have the power turned off/turned on the laptop it s not go.

One of the ways I got the card to operate was removing and inserting the card several times
until he finds resources and finally worked. I put t use this method as, obviously, I might damage the cardbus slot and the card. In the meantime I ve been using a Belkin Wireless G USB network adapter. I had no problems with the USB adapter, but I prefer to use the wifi card. This is because the majority of the wifi card is housed inside the laptop, so it s not easily evicted. The USB adapter is great for wireless networks inside, but too risky for roaming outside.

I had this problem of 1.70 at 1.8 ° C bios version, and I still have it with revision 1.90. I intend to return m wifi card in the store for an Exchange, but I have a really bad feeling that the same thing will happen with the replacement of the card. I m not convinced that the current wifi card is defective, because it works perfectly when he gets the resources.

I tried to manually configure resources on the devices, but I have a major problem. Windows seems to be LOCKED in the automatic settings. The automatic settings check box is grayed out completely, it is impossible for me clear the checkbox. I did not take anything in the bios that can help me solve this problem.

I noticed that there are many devices running off IRQ (interrupt requests) 19, when you view resources by type in Device Manager. These devices are:

Standard enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
USB host controller standard OpenHCD x 2 (two entries)
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
    Controller CardBus Texas Instrumetns PCI-1410

When the wireless card works she also runs IRQ 19, but as I said before Windows is locked in the automatic settings and do not manually configure the hardware resources.

Equium A60-157 is not provided on board, but it has the potential for. WiFi L.e.d. on the front panel, physical location for wifi turn on side panel wireless icon and F8. Someone know if Toshiba offer an upgrade service, or can I install wifi on board myself?

ANYONE, PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE QUESTIONS!
    Thanks for your time!

    Hello

    I found this for you:

Both devices have received a same ports of entry/exit (e/s), the same interrupt, or the same Direct memory access channel (whether through BIOS, the operating system, or a combination of both). This error message may also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device (for example, if a (USB) universal serial bus controller does not get a break in the BIOS because of a damaged MPS (Multiprocessor) system table).
You can use Device Manager to determine where the conflict is and turn off the device in conflict. On the tab General properties of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.
Try disabling the features of conflict. It will be interesting to know if the problem will occur again.

In my opinion, you should contact the Service partner and ask them if the unit is ready for the Wi - Fi module. Sorry, but I'm not sure about that and I don't want to give you a bad information about it.

  • Equium A60 does not restart

    Hello

My Equium A60 which I had since almost two years earlier this week crashed and does not restart. I met previous problems of slowness and the computer laptop closing (which I believe was down to heat), but it's much more serious.

All that happens when I pass on is a black screen is displayed, as if the monitor does not work, and then after a few minutes it turns off, there is nothing really to go. Is there anyway I can record what's on my hard drive or who lost? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

You can try to connect the HARD drive to another laptop or desktop as an external device using the USB HDD box. The disc HARD should be recognized automatically and you can copy all of your files.

Of course, this is possible if the HARD drive is not defective. I did several times with my old Satellite 1900 HDD. No problem at all.

On your device, I can tell you just follow: after pressing the power button / stop if there is no activity (HDD led, display, the cooling fan noise) I guess the unit must be controlled by the service.

  • White with vertical lines colored on Equium A60

    Hello

I'm new on this but really need your help. My laptop is around the age of 18 months and has always worked well. Last week, I plugged modem broadband via Ethernet cable and configure the broadband services. A few minutes after doing this, when I looked back to the screen, he went all white with vertical lines colored it. I rebooted the machine etc and that's all I ever get now. As soon as I turn on, it will just right to white with these colored vertical lines.

I tried to connect an external monitor to it and that works very well. The laptop is a Toshiba Equium A60. I'm worried that the screen is burned, it is possible for a power surge or something like that to go down the Ethernet cable and the screen shot?

    Thank you

    Adrian

Display features has nothing to do with the Ethernet cable. Test with external monitor is very good, and on this way, you can see if the graphics card is perhaps responsible for that.

From your description, I think that the view is the problem. Of course, just intensive display test can give more answers.
