Equium M50: No icon of CD/DVD drive in "my computer".

Hi all

I use an equium m50 and I encountered a problem.
There is no CD in cd/dvd drive icon in the section 'my computer '. I have installed a cd burning software and burned a cd, shortly after the CD-ROM icon disappeared. I've removed the device using Device Manager, and then installed the driver of device again. He said, the drivers have been installed successfully, but cannot find the hardware.

Also, I get this message now when I click on properties of cd/dvd rom in Device Manager "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) "now that I can't use a cd, the possibility of reinstalling the operating system is also excluded. can someone help me with the problem im facing?

Thanks in advance
Kiran

Hello

You can t see the drive in the my computer because the registry entries are damage. Well, I put t know all other possibilities to fix these entries outside the new installation of the operating system with the recovery CD or / and to use the Windows XP System Restore tool.

Well, I think you should try these options.

Good bye

I deleted the upper and lower filters in the registry, uninstalled the drive, reinstalled the drive, the drivers updated, physically removed the drive from the computer and check the connector, everything looks ok. Is the drive itself bad? If so, why then I see it in my computer. I ran a few fix his well they say they fixed the drive sucssefully it is still a problem, and it still does not work. Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

  • DVD drive no longer works on the Satellite X 200

    Hello

Although my laptop X 200-191 is just 3 weeks, this afternoon the DVD player suddenly stopped working. When I insert a dvd, the drive makes sounds like it will play the DVD, then stops and nothing more happens. When I click on the DVD drive in 'my computer' section, the Player opens and asks you a DVD... It will not play music cd's.

I just installed a new (HD) driver for the DVD drive on the toshiba site, which should be compatible. I also tried to reinstall the previous driver, but the problem persists. I can't use the CD recovery either, for the reader DVD does not have to start the recovery cd...

    Hello

I guess that you do not see the CD/DVD drive in MY computer area.
    Right?

I think I can help you
First go to Device Manager and search for CD/DVD drive.
Select this device and delete it from the list.

Now, open the registry (type regedit in the search) and remove the filters above and below to the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\Control \Class \{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
