  I'm running Vista Home premium, Equium P300. When I plug my Sony PSP, it shows as a mass storage device. When I try to access it, I get a message telling me to format the drive. I formatted the memory stick duo via the PSP, if I try to format it through the laptop I get the message:
  Impossible Windows in full format.

  In the section of the administrator of the PSP tool storage is displayed with a file system RAW instead of the FAT file system its supposed to be, my drive is in NTFS. I have it plugged in to another pc running Vista and it works fine so it's my phone that is the problem, not the PSP.

  If someone could help before laptops and the PSP go for a swandive by the window, I would be grateful.

  -SD up to 2GB
  -SDHC up to 16 GB
  -MMC up to 2GB
  -Memory Stick up to 128 MB
  -Tick Pro memory up to 4 GB
  -up to 2GB xD

  Memory Stick * Duo * isn't on the list!

  I am a novice so please bear with me. I use an Equium A300D with Vista Home OS. I lost any use of the touchpad. (synaptics pointing device)

  I tried the key F9, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and even tried the system restore, all to nothing does not. I have the touchpad icon on my taskbar. The backlight on the touchpad is more on. I looked in properties, and it shows as working properly without conflicts.

  One thing I noticed, is that previously, when I pressed the Fn key at the bottom left of the keyboard, the function keys are displayed on the screen. It also stopped.

  Can anyone offer advice?

  The touchpad needs two different drivers; one of Synaptics and Alps Electric 1.
  In your case, I recommend you to uninstall the two drivers. Just, delete it from the system.
  Then restart the laptop, clean the OS using a CCLeaner (free tool) and install the two drivers again!

  FN + F9 key will not work if you install t the VAP (value added package).

  Note: All these drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba European player page and please choose the correct drivers because there are different models of Equium A300D!

  * Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.
  * Install the Service Pack 1 of Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1)
  * Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)
  * If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.
  * Try to close the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.
  * To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

  If this does not work, the best option would be to backup your data and run recovery. If it still does not work, then the webcam itself may be faulty.

  The original hard drive was a Hitachi, 320 GB SATA

  The new hard drive is a WD 500 GB SATA

  EDIT: Trying to recover a Vista operating system

  For anyone who has the same problem, I found a solution. I cloned the original hard drive using the Clonezilla fallback option. After using Clonezilla to image on the new hard disk, the partition which held that most of the data of the laptop is not mountable, however the partition containing the restore partition was a perfect copy. I turned on the computer, hit escape to access the menu (for a list of options such as boot order, etc, which included an option for recovery), and then choose recovery option. While the recovery discs, I received from HP refused to work with the new hard drive, the Vista restored cloned recovery partition without flaw.

• Update of Vista 32 bit does not work after replacing the hard drive

  A month ago the hard drive of my computer (ACER Aspire 6920) had to be replaced. The disk image hard precedent (which includes the c: with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, SP 2 build 6002) has been mirrored to the new hard drive. Everything seemed to work fine until I noticed that I don't have more updates from Microsoft. I tried a manual update and got the message that the update service was not working and I have to restart the computer. However, the Task Manager showed that the update service has been executed. Of course, I rebooted the computer, but nothing has changed.

  I found a whole bunch of recommendations for this issue in this forum, but nothing seems to work:

  • The Microsoft FixIT tool indicates a problem with the update of components, and then said that the problem had been solved successfully. However, the problem is still there and rerun the FixIt tool Gets the same message on a problem (yet) found and fixed.
  • I also stopped the update service, delete all content in Windows/C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and restarted the service. without success.
  • I've temporarily disabled my security suite (Eset Smart Security 6) and tried the update. I also have fittings the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to the scope of the antivirus, without success. On the old hard drive, I used a different security suite so I thought that maybe the ESET (that I installed everything recently) could be the cause of the problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

  Recent hard drives using 'Sectors 4 K', also known as 'Advanced Format Technology'.

  If the installed hard disk driver currently is not compatible with this specification,

  It will result in oddities like the status of the service Windows Update is not recognized correctly.
