Equivalent of Pane Navigation in InDesign?

I wrote a manual 25 chapter in Word. I'm good for navigation in my document in word by using the Navigation pane. I can click on a topic or subtopic and go immediately to this position in the text.

I paid a Publisher to convert my manual all on InDesign. It now looks a lot in InDesign, but I can't navigate around my document almost as well. I just make the pages and down looking for the right section or subsection. It is a book of 400 pages, so it's not nearly as effective.

Is any navigation pane equivalent in InDesign? Where can I go directly to the "section 16.4" for example? Maybe the editor took a few shortcuts conversion to InDesign, not sure. But what would be the best way to specific chapters, sections in a large InDesign document.

Thank you

In the TOC Panel, you must check the option of pdf bookmarks

  • Content of the pane Navigation fleet back

    When I try to use the Vista Navigation pane to access folders on my computer, it tends to float to the left to view the directory names better.  But in doing so it does not point to the left of the directory names.  I have the pane stretched enough wide, I don't think it's in the case.  I have a few long directory names, I want to clarify the contents of directories.  But this requires records to float left making it is impossible to reach the directories that are shorter named.  Is it possible to lock this little sucker in place?  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Navigate from a to an other navigation pane navigation pane

    Hi all

    In the navigation pane, we can spread one component to the next.

    But what happens if I want to navigate from a navigation to another part of the navigation pane.

    for example: -.

    hand. QML: -.

     ActionItem {
                    title: qsTr ("ReadFromSD")
                    imageSource: "asset:///images/action_addcontact.png"
                    ActionBar.placement: ActionBarPlacement.OnBar

                    onTriggered: {
                        if (_addressBook.detectSD()) {
                            var page = secondPageDefinition.createObject();
                            navigationPane.push(page);
                        }
                    }
                }

    and the second page definition is like: -.

     ComponentDefinition {
                id: secondPageDefinition
                source: "filePicker.qml"
                Page {
                    Container {

                    }
                            paneProperties: NavigationPaneProperties {
                                backButton: ActionItem {
                                    title: "Back"
                                    onTriggered: {
                                        /*username.text = "";
                                        password.text = "";*/
                                        navigationPane.pop();
                                    }
                                }
                            }
                        }
            }

    The problem that is happening, is that the flow is not the trigger from one component to the other:

    NavigationPane {
        id: navigationPaneFilePicker

        onPopTransitionEnded: page.destroy()

        Page {
            titleBar: TitleBar {
                title: qsTr ("Select contacts File")
            }

            Container {
                layout: DockLayout {}

                // The background image
                ImageView {
                    horizontalAlignment: HorizontalAlignment.Fill
                    verticalAlignment: VerticalAlignment.Fill

                    imageSource: "asset:///images/background.png"
                }
                FilepickerScrollView {

                    Container {
                        horizontalAlignment: HorizontalAlignment.Fill
                        verticalAlignment: VerticalAlignment.Fill

    ................................................
    ...............................................

    When I click the first page its not sailing does not to the second. When the second does not have the navigation pane it worked correctly, but as soon as I added the tag in navigation pane to it it stopped working

    Please suggest

    The element root firstPage.qml and secondPage.qml doesn't have to be a NavigationPane but a page element. You already have a navigationPane in your hierarchy of context and as a result, you can refer to your main QML file NavigationPane directly.

    For example:

    hand. QML:

    include bb.cascades 1.3

    NavigationPane {
      id: root
      Container {
        Button {
          text: "Push the first pane"
          onClicked: {
        var first = firstPane.createObject();
        root.push(first);
          }
        }
      }
      attachedObjects: ComponentDefinition {
        id: firstPane
        source: "firstPage.qml"
      }
    }

    firstPage.qml

       include bb.cascades 1.3

        id: navigationPane

        // The initial page
        Page {
            content: Container {
                Button {
                    text: "Display First Page"

                    onClicked: {
                        var second= secondPage.createObject();
                // Use the navigationPane defined in main.qml
                        root.push(second); //pushes the defined component definition (first)
                    }
                }
            } // end of Container

          attachedObjects: [
            ComponentDefinition {
                id: secondPage

    Hello

    Windows Media Player is included in Windows 8 and Windows Pro 8, however, it does not include DVD playback. There is no separate download Windows Media Player available (apart from Windows 8 N and KN edition).

    See the article:

    1. are you drop files moved into a section of the playlist in Windows Media Player, where it says "Drag items here to create a playlist" or another area of Windows Media Player?
    2. What is the format of the files you are trying to drag and drop?

  • InDesign and export of .svg images

    Y at - it a plugin or otherwise allowing InDesign export .svg images?

    My documentation tool accepts only the vector images in .svg format and all my illustrations are made in InDesign (because it's a heck of a lot easier to use than Illustrator).

    Currently, my workflow is kind of ridiculous!

    Since InDesign - export the illustration in PDF format

    Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat - crop the image to a specific size, save as a new PDF (because save a cropped picture of InDesign seems to behave badly from time to time - as I don't know the equivalent of 'Work Plan' in InDesign)

    Open a PDF in Inkscape - save as .svg image

    I really wish that I could just export directly to .svg! Curiously, I swear to you that InDesign supports .svg back in its infancy. FYI, .svg is always an important vector image format and a darn bit size more effective than .eps.

    * BUT * there is no way I'm paying $199 for a plugin (re: purchase SVG Kit for Adobe Creative Suite 2.0.2). It is quite excessive, IMHO!

    I understand that this post will go nowhere... wanted to just scream a bit.

    There are no SVG export in InDesign.

    Try to save your InDesign file in PDF format. Open the PDF in Illustrator (may not work if you use fonts), then choose file > save as > SVG. Illustrator can record all the illustrations Illustrator in SVG.

  • How to create indesign using Java Script

    I am new to indesign and want to create indesign application using JavaScript.

    When I use AppleScript to create the Application Indesign I use this statement

    Tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5"

    myDocument to make document with the properties of the value

    tell the end

    Application InDesign create successfully.

    How to create the Application Indesign using JavaScript?

    or what is set equivalent to (tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5") in Java Script.

    There is a sample java script given on the forum or in the sdk. These departure example with app.

    When I debug these java script using ExtendScript ToolKit 3.6 it gives error on app (application not defined). I think that this app AI application object.

    How to create indesign application object app in javascript?

    Although this script runs successfully when I put these script in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5.5\Scripts

    and executing these script use the Scripts panel (choose window > utilities > Scripts), and then double-click the script name in the Scripts panel in indesign application. But in this case I have indesign application start and then choose window > utilities > Scripts, and then double-click the script name in the Scripts panel.

    I want to create Application Indesign (instance), using JavaScript.When I run or (debug) my JavaScript in any javaScript tool as ExtendScript ToolKit 3.6 then Indesign application should start, as in the Apple Script.

    Thank you

    long story short... NO!

    However, if you run the script from ESTK, you need not copy the script in the folder "Scripts". Do not know exactly if that's what you want.

  • How to put a transparent image on top a panned object?

    (1) I have a group of image pasted inside a frame.

    (2) I applied a Pan 'only' to this image.

    (3) I placed two forms degraded on top of this framework; the one on the left side of the frame and the other to the right.

    (4) when I saw the page, the image jumps to the top of these two forms of gradients, which isn't what I want.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you!

    The two gradients shapes must be pasted into another "Pan" frame only with the group size same as the size of the frame in the container. You must place the framework above your original one pan one pan frame in InDesign and you're done.

  • How can I set whose records are developed by default in Windows Explorer?

    I guess I'm not the only one having this problem:

    Windows Explorer expands always 'libraries' and other items directly under the desk at startup. It is really annoying, that I never use libraries, do not want the extended control panel, or what they think is my repertoire.

    Is there a way to customize it or simply to stop Windows Explorer to expand at startup at all? (The latter would be less desirable but still better than the status quo.)

    (2) fix the Bug of scrolling in the left pane: If you view a folder and expand in the left pane to display its subfolders, the folder is annoyingly prefer to the bottom of the component causing the subfolders do not appear, making it difficult to work with. Double click on a folder in the left pane can also cause this problem.  Vote to fix it..

    (3) when several files are selected they should stay selected when changing the sort order (ex: name of size). Maintenance of the files selected in the sort should be a requirement, and this feature should not have been removed.

    (4) the option to remember the view settings of each folder (Recalling the positions and sizes of the individual folder window).

    (5) the option to remove 'Complete the selection of lines' to see in detail. "Selection of whole lines" is very annoying when the file is complete and has no empty space to click on. Also, when dragging / delete the file to another folder - if you release the on the line of a subfolder or file de.exe/.zip/.rar 'selection of whole lines' causes the file to be moved in the subfolder ou.exe/.zip/.rar instead file the file provided.

    (6) a search engine with all the advanced search options. No required syntax.

    (7) the option to always display free disk size space and record on the State and/or the details pane toolbar. Also always automatically show the size of the selected files (when several files are selected it will not show the total size).

    (8) the option to show the pane that is your mouse with wheel mouse, even if this pane is not selected.

    Using the classic interface to restore functionality of Windows Explorer

    After you have installed the free Classic Shell , you can customize Windows Explorer more closely to how you want it, the quote below is just a way to do it. Click here to see some of the options that you can customize, and here is the FAQ page for the classic interface.

    A solution that worked for the restoration of some features.

    (1) install the free Classic shell.  It's very customizable and works like a mod for Windows Explorer rather than a full blown replacement. You need to install the classic Start Menu option, but you can if you wish.
    (2) restart the computer.
    (3) launch Windows Explorer (Start - computer) and turn on "Always show Menus" (organize - Layout - check menu bar). It's just for the configuration, you can disable it again later if you wish.
    (4) make a right click on the menu bar and turn in the "Classic Explorer bar. This adds a series of icons for cut/copy/paste in Explorer. Basically, it also adds the "Configuration" icon
    5) go to the configuration and from there you can edit things to your heart's content. To kill the horrible record-jumping 7 Windows, place you Vista in 'Style Navigation pane. You can even hit back to XP mode if you want (this adds lines to the tree of folders and adds a classic icon "+" for the expansion of folders). The Windows Vista folder display style looks about the same as the view from Windows 7, but it gets rid of the horrible blow.
    (6) adjust other settings you want.

    After that, you can activate the toolbar and menus walk back to explore if you wish. Explorer Windows seems largely the same, but folders is no longer jumping around.  Vote for Microsoft to fix this bug.

    Now if only MS allows to code correctly so that we don't have to mess with third-party applications to get Windows actually works...

  • Windows Explorer for Windows 7 - How to stop automatically sort my files

    I have Windows 7.  Explorer Windows automatically sorts my files in each folder.  I put in "sort by..." Name ', so for now he is sorting alphabetically, but no matter what I put in 'Grading', it does it automatically.  But I want to be able to move the files to the folder in different orders, and then once I'm satisfied with the order, then I can change the name of each file and then choose to classify them alphabetically or otherwise.

    For example, this is useful for a folder full of photos.  Let's say I have a folder with 50 photos in there of holiday, and I would like to re - order these photos, but I want to play visually with different orders until I have decide to order, I like most.  So I want to move each file/photo until I like the Decree.  To do this, I would open this particular folder in Windows Explorer, then select the "Large icons" view and then moving the photos until I like order.  And then once I have pictures in the order I want, then I would like to rename each picture (1, 2, 3, etc.) and then Windows Explorer say "sort by...» Nu.  That's how it was on my old computer, but I got XP and now I have Windows 7, but I can't imagine that Windows 7 would not let me do the same thing.  But the way it works for me now, Windows Explorer comes automatically orders/sorts my files depending on the option "sort by" I chose.  So if I change the name of the files (from 'Photo #25' to ' Photo #10 "'), it automatically goes this photo between" Photo #09 "and" Photo #11 ".»»  And if I try to move 'Photo #10' next to say "#37 picture"to see how they look next to each other, it won't let me. After you have installed the free Classic Shell , you can customize Windows Explorer more closely to how you want it, the quote below is just a way to do it. Click here to see some of the options that you can customize, and here is the FAQ page.

    A solution that worked for the restoration of some features.

    (1) install the free classic Shell. It's free, completely customizable and works like a mod for Windows Explorer, rather than a full blown replacement. Personally, I did not fit the classic Start Menu option, but you can if you wish.
    (2) restart the computer.
    (3) launch Windows Explorer and turn on "Always show Menus" (it's just for the configuration, you can disable it again later if you want).
You can even go more retro and hit return to XP mode if you want (this adds lines to the tree of folders and adds a classic icon "+" for the expansion of folders).
    (6) set the parameters of other institutions. I have so that the bit "more details" in the dialogues of copy is automatically extended, I checked the option "display free space and size of the file in the status bar" (no need to right click on the drive to see how much space is left), personally, I decided to stay with the "overwrite file" dialog box Windows 7 style (the default is the simplest dialogue style Vista/XP) , and I went for the Windows Vista style folders display that looks about the same as the view from Windows 7, but get rid of the horrible jump.

    After that, you can activate the toolbar and menus walk back to explore if you wish. Explorer Windows seems largely the same, but folders is no longer jumping around.

    Now if only MS allows to code correctly so that we don't have to mess with third-party applications to get Windows actually works...

  • Get the current PAge

    I want a QML solution to find out which page is open. I had nested in the tabs Pane Navigation components, most of this navigation is carried out automatically. How know when a page is in sight? I want something like 'onCreationCompleted', but which is only called when the Page is created.

    Basically, I need reminders such as onResume(). or onPause(); that you get in Android.

    for a navigationpane, you can use https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/reference/bb__cascades__navigationpane.html#function-topch... or the top property.
    The TabbedPane gives you the activeTab or activePane.

  • Can I use Classic wallpaper in Windows 7?

    original title: Classic wallpapers?

    My employer has just upgraded our computers to Windows 7 from XP. That's fine, and I'm sure I'll come to like it once I get acquainted with it.

    One thing bothers me: where are the classic wallpapers? This stuff is all very pretty, but I don't want rabbits, kittens or anime characters or sunsets. I want that good old wallpaper that I used on my Windows machines for at least a decade. But I can't find them on my machine or online. Can someone help me?
    Thank you!

    Hello

    According to the description, you wanted to have classic display of Windows XP on the Windows 7 computer. Please correct me if I do not understand the question, that you face.

    Classic view gives Windows the look and behavior of earlier versions. You can change just the start or Control Panel's Classic View menu, or use the Windows Classic theme for a broader change. You can also change your folders to Classic view, which turns off the preview pane, Navigation pane, and toolbar in all folders. This setting gives you more space to display the files because it hides you don't have shutters.

    To change the start menu to Classic view, do the following:

    The classic view of start menu is based on an earlier version of Windows.

    a. open the taskbar and Start Menu properties by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, then clicking on the taskbar and Start Menu.

    b. click the Start Menu tab, click on the Classic Start menuand then click OK.

    To change the Windows Classic theme, follow these steps:

    a. open theme settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, personalizationand then click theme.

    b. under theme, select the Windows classic theme in the drop-down list and then click OK.
