Erase files on a rewritable disc

I I want to burn to a cd of songs, but there are songs on it already. It is a CD - RW. How to delete the files already on the disc?

Hi Dalton20,

Click Start
Click on the computer
Click on your CD drive (most likely called... E :)
Right-click on the music file, then select Remove.

If this does not work , then it is not possible to burn anything on this CD (or remove anything from him) as he is in control.

Hi, I tried to copy/paste a XL (Office 2010 on Windows 7) file to a DVD disc. Without success. The 'Paste' option on the right button of the mouse was swept away.

I tried also to drag the file on the disk, without success.

Finally, I saved the file on the DVD drive, in which the virtual disk has been inserted, and it worked like a dream.

DVD-RAM has been formatted in my computer for UDF 2.01.

You'll appreciate suggestions how copy and paste or make drag a file on the DVD RAM disk.

    Thank you, Joseph.

    OK, J Guz,

I've made a little progress: first method all no 1 and 2 that you suggested did not help. I did not apply the method 3, as I fear this will mess up program and security updates.

What I found is that I can drag-and - drop or copy and paste a file, If it was previously recorded for example in 'MY documents'.

As far as I'm concernrd, it is a reasonable solution.

I could drag-and - drop or copy and paste files not saved on a DVD RAM drive in my computer XP Pro SP3 previous probably because I had a program InCD is installed as part of NERO burning program.

The following link provides a nice explanation:

  • DSA files: I can't watch avd files from a dvd disc. How can I do this?

I can't look at avd files from a dvd disc. How can I do this

DSA files are 7 BACK.  I spent nearly 45 minutes looking for any program that would read this type of file and could happen to any (see below - it may as well have been none).  I don't know the reason, you can't look at AVD files from a DVD disc is because he has not installed software capable of reading this file type.  None of the major software look at programs to support this type of file and I could not even find a 3rd party single program (freeware, demo, shareware or ware) that claims to be able to read this type of file (and I spent more than 45 minutes, looking in all the obvious places: www.download.com,www.tucows.com, Bing and Google). I could also find no program which converts the AVD files into a format readable by standard viewers.

Well, this is not quite correct.  I found the folllowing: http://media-geek.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_details&Itemid=142&gid=160 but I do not qualify to become a member (and doubt do you either) and the program is not in the home page of the manufacturer list (which means maybe he is no longer available or taken in charge) and it does not say what operating systems it is compatible with (so I don't know if this works with Vista even if we could get at the point of download it which I doubt somehow).  I'm not even sure that it is applicable for the DVD you have.

Indeed, if it was already possible with earlier versions of Windows or Windows software, I do not think it is no longer possible.

You can search by yourself and I wish you success.

    Good luck!

  • burn mp3 to CD audio files, can not put all the files in the 1 disc,

I am trying to burn mp3 to CD audio, if I choose audio CD, some how when I drag the file in the burn list, it's auto show 1 file in a single disc, how can I put all files on 1 disc? If I choose the data disk, so I put all the files in the 1 disc

In fact, when you copy MP3 files as such, it is written as such, in digital format. In other words, the size of the file is important here. Depending on the size of CD, 650 MB to 800 MB, you can add files only up to the storage capacity of the CD.

In the case of the audio CD, the data is written in analog format (as a cassette tape or gramophone record). In other words, in the present case, the duration of the file audio issues. The capacity varies between approximately 74 minutes to 90 minutes, respectively.
Because each file is 50 + minutes, as stated in your post, it is normal to restrict a file per CD, such as the capacity is 74 minutes to 90 minutes. If you use the MP3/WMA format instead, you can put all the files in a single CD.

  • Problem burning files on DVD-R disc

Yesterday, to make room on my laptop Windows 8, I started burning files on DVD-R discs.  I have an average combustion 4.18 GB on 4.7 GB discs with great success.  Today, I tried to continue the exact same process, but I keep getting warnings that there is not enough space on the disc and I need 2 more GB of space.  Nothing has changed.  The same discs, same type of file.  Everything is exactly the same thing, so why I get the warning?  This happened to me in the past with my computer laptop windows 7 and different flash drives.  For example.  I had an empty 16 GB flash drive that I tried to add the 5 GB file and I got a warning that the flash player was not large enough to hold the file.  I'd appreciate any help I can get.

now when I go to Device Manager, it shows another device with a small yellow Panel. OK I rigth click above, then click on set to update driver, then I chose to let go online to update the software. He said software was found and install it. then he says met windows Aproblematique installing the driver software for your device... There is a usb icon, it says usb mass storage device... access is denied!

OK so I go into the properties of the device and it says:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

    Access is denied.

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click on reinstall.

    Hello

Lite-on should have been able to give the exact registry entries necessary for this drive
    (not only the filters).

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To install the drivers for this device, click Update driver, which starts the upgrade wizard to update the material.
-Device Manager, double-click the device CD/DVD - tab of the driver.

    ================================================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the drive appears not to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your system manufacturer Maker and device for firmware updates as possible and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Secure erasing files - at the vmdk level?

    Hi all

We are implementing a corporate secure deletion policy by which our support staff will use a Windows tool that supports at least US DOD 5200, 28 - STD file deletion (all reasonably simple), but he was asked if the erasure spreads through to the underlying disk to VMware and if so, is the data stored in the disk correctly deleted also?

Our file servers are W2K3 and have HBA connections with our without.  VMWare "disks" are stored in hard (s) on the SAN.

Your comments and advice are appreciated.

    LEA

    Hello

Moved to forum security and compliance.

If your VMDK is stored on a storage that does not "copy-on-write", then it is possible to run a wipe program DoD disk in the virtual machine to zero level the VMDK. However, this may not work if you do not fully understand the underlying storage.

For linked clones, this will erase the link but will not erase the captain VMDK. Or this will remove any file .vswp, .vmsn, or .vmss files. These have images memory and therefore should also be properly deleted. If its not simple to delete a virtual machine to the DoD standards. Data disc are fine but the memory data is a little more difficult.

  • Need to file for "TOHSIBA Recovery Disc Creator" on Satellite A205-s5825

    Hello

    I've got Satellite A205-s5825
Well, I'm 4,000 km of distance from my Toshiba Recovery DVD, comes with the box.
No problem - I can use the recovery disk creator... so I thought.

The laptop is less than a week in use, no partitions are changed, etc.
Well, page 59 of my guide tells me to 0 (zero) button while turning on the machine to start in the partition recovery... No, this won't work. I tried many different variations.

And 60 page told me to use the 'Office' for the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator icon.
No, there is no icon. It is the same graph icon here, but it is for "Toshiba Software Updates" and not "Recovery Disc Creator"

Toshiba Assist (executable program)... No, not help for this.
I looked in every path of C: trying to find out what executable mystery... and also any exploration of menu start... nothing.

I need Windows executable for "Recovery Disc Creator". (need name of file as trdc.exe or something else)
    Anyone know it?

    Thank you

(P.S. Shell repair when pressing F8 and asking "repair my computer" also does not provide the option to create recovery discs.
It assumes that you have already created those when in the shell.)

    Hello

It seems that it is not a European model possibly the American TV series so I put t know exactly how it works in the portable American TV series but by pressing the F8 key, and then choosing the option fix my computer would start the HDD recovery procedure.
It would be the same as restoring from Recovery CD or DVD.

The Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator must be also installed somewhere on the HARD drive.
I think you should check the folder programs and Toshiba.

  • TimeMachine erases files?

Lost any content using Time Machine as a return to the top.

    What I did:

Make a TimeMachine backup to an external drive.

    Installed El Capitan of iMac.

Migration Assistant/TimeMachine to restore content to the iMac.

Re-installed Snow Leopard and Migration Wizard used/TimeMachine to restore backed up files to clean the snow leopard.

It seems that he was more content in the external drive TimeMachine to restore to the iMac

Looks like that TimeMachine erased the files after it their copied in El Capitan of the first restoration.

We didn't see any warning that the files would be deleted from external TimeMachine upward.

How can I get the files back?

    Hello gregfromoakland,

I understand that you are looking to get back to Snow Leopard to go to El Capitan, while retaining the files were backed up by Time Machine. Fortunately, your data should still be intact, but is not accessible from Snow Leopard.
