  Try the following methods.

  Method 1:

  Download and install the latest Windows install http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8483

  Download WindowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe for Windows XP.

  Method 2:

  Register Windows Installer service; To do this, you need boot mode safe.

  1 restart your computer and press F8 several times before the Windows Logo appears and select Safe Mode and press enter

  2 - log on your user account (must be administrator).

  3 - Click Start, and then select 'Run' or Win Key + R to open the "Run".

  4 - Type cmd and press enter

  5 - in prompt type command sequence,

  I have a problem with my laptop start-up where windows can sometimes load and run, but other times I gives me the option to "Repair Windows" or "Start Windows normally".

  I got the message "boot device found" or "Please install and opertaing system."

  Well, I know that it is a responsible OS that I wouldn't be able to sometimes start in windows successfully.

  Primary hard disk Self Test I ran and returned the following results:

  Quick test

  100% complete...

  Hard drive Test passed.

  Full test

  48% complete...

  Hard drive 1 full (305)

  Intelligent control

  HDD SMART spending

  End of the test.

  What does all this mean?

  My hard drive is in failure or default and on there way out, or y at - it cable losing hard disk connection.

  Any assistance with this issue, I'd be very happy.

  I would recommend you replace the HARD drive because he's looking for as you HDD is dying and that's why you have this problem starting.

  I'm fixing a child 6 years out of warranty HP m7160n Media Center PC with a motherboard failed.  If I replace the MB with a new one, I have software problems?  My goal is just to make a quick motherboard replacement and restore the computer to the owner with that little pain as possible.  What I don't want to do, is to have spend $90 (HP parts store wants $250) on a replacement motherboard and then have to deal with software problems then currently installed programs or the operating system.  It did not come with a Windows Media Center CD, everything is in the HP recovery partition the existing drive.

  It's my understanding that even though I am an end user, I should have no problem getting it registered/validated until I replace the motherboard with the same make and model that came in the original system.  Thanks in advance for your answers.

  A motherboard with like-for-like replacement should be no. emits either with software, drivers etc although you'll probably have to revalidate.

  Problems arise only if the new hardware is substantially different from the original, in particular with the chipset of the card. That being said however in many cases you should be able to boot and install the drivers required during the initial start-up. The only exception is the player interface as this may generate a blue screen INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE and the only way around this is to pre-install the new drivers on the old system before the change, though if the reason for this change is a dead motherboard that does not help.

  I once replaced a mobo with a failed IDE port by plugging a PCI one which enabled him to start, install the drivers for the card, install the drivers for the new Board of Directors and then replaced the Board of Directors.

  My HP Pavilion 1019wm g7 started running more slower and slower resulting in poor performance. It became so bad that I felt that the only cure was to format and reinstall. After that four failed attempts I admit now that the hard disk is unable to learn more about disk errors hard 303 and 305. When the new hard drive is installed and verified (3) recovery disks that came with my laptop will Windows7 and all the software that came from HP? Unfortunately the HP warranty expired two weeks ago and understand that it is my fault not HP. This laptop is only a few months old and slightly used for personal use only.   The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 51 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive.  There is no need to format the new hard drive beforehand that all that will be taken in charge by the recovery process.  This process will reinstall the operating system and all the necessary drivers - essentially, the laptop will be in the same condition as when you bought it, in addition, the operating system automatically.

  When you have installed the new drive, type following the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to launch the start menu.  Choose the option of Start Menu (it often comes to f9) Insert your 1st recovery DVDs and close the player.  Use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  This will start the process of recovery and you can find more information in this regard on the link below.

  Recovery of the system - Windows 7.

  As you will be reinstalled on a new drive, the option to choose is Factory Reset.

I can create something from one of these other HP laptops? Download something somewhere? I don't want to have to buy Windows again. I love this phone and need her in my life as a game.

  You must do a clean install of Windows on them. The hard drive has drivers for completely different material. Too bad that you did not have your drive to retrieve the value. It would restore the hard drive to HP with all the drivers/software installed. It would depend if the hard disk is at least the same capacity or larger than the original.   Error 303 and 305 codes are respectively the Self Test short and long drive failure and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also compatible with the inability to see the HARD drive when starting your installation disc.
