Error 1335

Hello

I just bought a new laptop running Windows Home Premium (32-bit) Service Pack 2 and I am trying to install Steam. Whenever I do, I get the message Error 1335 indicating that the "file 'Cabs.w1.cab' required for this installation is damaged and cannot be used. This may indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

I don't think that a network error is the cause that I have Steam on my main PC that runs on the same network as my new laptop computer. Steam is also downloaded not installed from a CD. Any ideas?

Thank you.

  • Error 1335 - corrupted file

    Hello

I recently installed windows 7 on my new custom machine built a week ago. I ran into a problem when I tried to install a game [Crysis] error occurred during the installation began to copy files and install the game. This game is using .cab files to install the software.

I have an error message at the beginning of the installation, "Error 1335 - file is corrupted etc. The file is there and works. I tried to install other software such as photoshop and various other games.

After searching the net, I think that the problem is the windows installer. Another solution, I found, is that it could be down to the RAM. I ran a diagnosis of memory who found a problem. I would like to know if there is a real solution to the problem or if I have to buy another RAM.

    Methods I've tried;

1 using the msiexec / unregister, and a few other commands, but I'm not sure if they do.

    2. has tried to install the software on the hard drive

3A ran a registry cleaner, clean up and disk defragmentation

These are the methods that I can remember off the top of my head.

Any guidance or possible corrections would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Hazzerf,

You can try to change the stick to another location, or use a different stick of RAM to check if there is a problem with the RAM.

See thread below who carry the same mistake as him with a different game.

  • Error 1335 the Cabinet file

    Hello

When I install Microsoft Flight Simulator X, I get the error message 1603. But before I got this messase that I get an Error 1335 the Cabinet File "D1 ~ 10.CAB '.

I copied all files from drive 1 and 2 on my hard drive and I still get the same message.

    Help, please

    Hello

Cabinet (or CAB) is a file format to archive for Microsoft Windows that supports compression without loss of data and embedded digital certificates used to maintain the integrity of the archive. CAB files have .cab file name extensions.

Install the game in the clean boot and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: follow step 4 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Hope this information helps.

    Hello

Thanks for the update on the issue. This can occur when a service or installation file is corrupted, which in this case could be done by the virus on the computer.

  • Installation procedures w / all Cal Exec, getting corrupt files Error 1335.

We bought just Calibration Executive v3.3 with all procedures, then we can expand our capabilities in the laboratory of metrology. While installing procedures of the discs, I get errors of corruption (1335) for all the cabins on each disc. I tried to copy the disks to the hard drive and get the same error. We are running windows xp w/sp2. Any ideas what's wrong with the discs? I have a minimal programming experience, but am willing to do all that is necessary to get the software running and upward. We are down in this area, as I removed the old Cal Exec 2.0 already.

Have you tried it on another computer just to make sure that's not the optical drive? You should also try to temporarily disable all antivirus software. It is possible you have a bad batch of discs - it has been known to occur. If you contact your representative local sales OR they may be able to get you a new together pretty quickly. Maybe even to stay overnight it to you.

  • Error 1335 and error 2350

Operating system windows xp 64 attempted to install the last set of Resident Evil 5 and these codes came during installation, which CAB file also read data required for this corrupt setup cab 12 and cannot be used this may indicate a network error to an error reading from the cd-rom or a problem with this package.  Note that pc is not online for which I will have the question.

    Hello trucks2much, welcome.

Read errors can be caused by a number of things. I would try the following:
    1. use a CD/DVD player to see if the lens in the drive is covered with dust
    2. make sure that the disc you are using to install is not scratched. Try wiping them with a clean, soft cloth
    3. try another CD/DVD drive in your computer to install (if applicable)
    Hope this helps,
    Thank you!

  • Error 1335: Data1.cab corrupt or the source file is damaged and can not download

Recently I formatted my hard drive and installed windows xp professional 64-bit and had no problem installing updates automatic and all my drivers but then a few reboots later, after installation I started to receive an error message saying "the source file is damaged" or "the cab data1.cab file is corrupt and cannot be used. I never had problems like this on my windows xp home edition. Do you know how can I solve this problem?

I tried to install programs on different browsers, removing all my temporary files and choosing a different download location.

    Thank you very much

    Cort

    Hello Cort Adkins,

Issues such as this error, "the source file is corrupted" is usually a RAM problem. If you have several sticks of RAM, removel, restart and test.
It is best to test a bar at a time until you find the one that is causing the error to corruption.

Go to the Start button and in the search box, type in memory. This will bring up a Memory Diagnostic Test.
You can also test RAM using an application like Memtest.

Please answer back with an update and let us know if it helps.

  • I am trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 on Windows XP sp 3. I am getting Error 1335

    Hello

I try to install Photoshop Elements 10 on PC Windows XP sp3. The Installer gives me an error with data13.cab

Have checked the hard drive error

    Have defragmented the hard drive

Have you tried to install internal DVD player

Have you tried to install from network of the installation DVD copy (made from an another DVD reader)

Tried installation connected to Windows as a brand-new user account.

Installation failed to get Element_StarFrameCircle.psd, although windows seems happy enough with the cab file.

Downloaded trial version of the website of Adobe, but that would not be executed (exe file is corrupted, but it is mentioned as a possibility on web site)

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Stuart

You get an error trying to download?  Are you able to try another browser such as Firefox or Chrome?  You will need to download the whole trial, we do not have the data13.cab file available for download.  It's a good idea to get a new download anyway as there could be additional problems not yet met your installation media.
