Original title: help with error message... Please...!
I use a desktop PC of HP Pavilion a6202.uk with Windows Vista Home Premium & Microsoft Office 2003. When I am back from vacation & turned on my PC, my password was OK, but rather to raise Windows, I received the following message: "Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed in is invalid for activation. He then listed the following options: "access your computer with reduced functionality (this will allow you to buy a product online key)" or "Type a different product key" or "contact HP to help solve this problem."
I have no idea what a product key is and don't have anything either in the type comes to connect as usual. I can't access anything to be same to reduced functionality. I can not type in a new product key because I did not. I can not contact HP - phone number does not... !!
I'm quite desperate, I travel docs to print and e-mail to answer and I don't have any idea what is happening. Please can someone help with this not very IT clued-up DTP...!
Moved from Vista programs Forum.
You should have a sticker with the product key on your computer, on the bottom, or under the battery cover. I try to type this key in and see if it accepts it. If this isn't the case, you might not have an authentic version of Windows installed.

8007371c with windows update error code. Vista Home Premium 32-bit system.
I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit system and I have problems with windows update since early April.
The system attempts to update 2807986 KB, 2809289, 2808735, 2820917, 2813345, 890830 (eventually successful), 2817183, 2813170 and 2823324. These will not update after many trials and the system will display an error message saying that some changes could not be completed, returning from changes, will try again on start up, do not turn off.
On reboot, it gives the message that the updates are not configured correctly, returning changes, do not turn off. I get the 8007371c error code in the popup window windows update but can't find specific information on this code. Help please!
Thank you.

How can I fix Windows Update? -Error 8000FFFF for Vista Home Premium
Your suggestions to other users did nothing to solve the problem. I always get: 8000FFFF with update microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. I ran Microsoft fixit as well as your suggestions for the record of change of name (updated - and reset file) without resolution. It shows that I have Service Pack 2, but it don't did me not run updates since 2009... I tried the steps with or without Norton anti-virus on.
Hi Okoserce,
You can try the following steps and check if it helps:
Method 1:
You can read the article and check if it helps:
If you have already run the Fixit from the link, then try the manual steps to change the registry settings and check if it helps.
Important: The above link contains steps to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
For more information, you can view the article:
For more information, see the article:
Method 2:
You can download and install the system update readiness tool and check if you can install windows updates.
You can see the following from the same article:
Method 3:
If the problem persists, try to run a SFC scan on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

Error 800b0100 KB2564958 Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit.
I am experiencing 800b0100 error when trying to install KB2564958 on Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. I ran the system update tool and tried to download and manually install the KB2564958 without success. Any ideas?
A repair installation isn't a big problem if you have the right drive. A new clean install is a much larger task.
Notwithstanding, there is no certainty that it will solve the problem but it is very unlikely to harmful effects on the system.
The missing file is a strange situation. It is formally identified in the Article, but on a Vista computer that I have here, there is no sign of the file. The difference with your computer, is that my updates normally and your not.

Commercial error Code 0x8007045D Vista Home Premium Version complete
Good afternoon... I been up all night trying to find answers to fundamentally
error codes 2 I receive when you try to install Windows Vista Home Premium full retail
version, 64-bit and 32-bit. 0x8007045D error code and error Code 0 x 80070003, the first
0x8007045D code receives most often, and during the phase of installing 'multiply '.
Files... he expanded on anywhere from 00 to about 50%, taking as long as 45 minutes.
When the error 0x8007045D code appears. The other code came during other phases of the
installation, but less often.
Now, there was a lot of "answers" on the forums online to the same question as above, plus all the
of them I've read has dealt with Vista and, like me, do a clean-install not one upgrade. Answers
varied bad hard drive and dvd drive not working not not for RAM (one person said a few years back to)
not 4 GB of memory, but less than 2). Others have said that the write speed of the
DVD player was set down too quickly, that... but mine is a full commercial version. And I have
Microsoft contacted by chat and phone and the product key is valid.
Remember, this is for Windows Vista Home Premium not Windows 7 Home Premium.
I went back to Windows 7 HP, if I can do some research on these error codes. In a few weeks
I have a new pc built for my Windows 7, but this 'old' pc that I use now is what HP Vista
will be used, if I can ever get it installed. The SPECIFICATIONS below are for this desktop computer
PC that I'm tempted to get Vista installed on HP. I'll Tinker (change) with parts
(hard drive, RAM and DVD drive), but none are too drastic.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you!!
Jimmy

Code 646 error when updated Vista Home for my Office Home and Student 2007 for KB976321.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2. System type 32-bit operating system. KB976321 will not update. I have Office home and Student 2007. Any suggestions?
Once from time to time, you must manually install the patches. Have you tried to download and run the patch manually (without using Windows Update)?
If not, you can download the patch here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=160ad53e-6475-4550-90c2-444e4abea730. Clickk download and then run. You must accept the agreement, then click on continue. After installing, restart Microsoft Update and click find updates. If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.
If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner. Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

1. have you made a recent software or hardware changes to the system?
2. are you able to boot to the desktop?

C:\Windows\system32\wshbth.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx and run Autoruns by using the tab all. Search for wshbth.dll and if you find it remove the control to prevent it from running at startup. Click OK and restart. The message should be gone.
If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135. If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem. Follow the procedures described in the article. Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall. Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.
Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here. A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Read the tutorials.A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed. There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Original title: Error Installing Win Vista Home premium.
I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium. Suddenly, it wouldn't start. I changed the boot CD ROM and put my Vista disc in and tried to do a "repair" that it came with missing engine or something like this. After several attempts, I gave up and formatted hard drive losing all my data and programs (rather difficult to backup files when the computer does not start). So, I tried a complete installation. I put in the license code and he started the installation. After a few minutes, the message came; "Windows Setup could not reset the deployment engine. to install windows, restart the installation. I tried several times including completely turn off the computer for several minutes and try again. I tried several times. I thought oh well, I will install my Windows 7 program (this and never used). Error on this installation was: your CPU is only good for 32 bit and Win 7 I have is a 64-bit version. I'D RATHER INSTALL VISTA BUT need help on the error regarding the deployment engine. Thank you, Lloyd
