Error 8076 on photo library

I created a library of Photos secondary on my iMac and placed in the "Shared" folder nested under the folder "users". 'USER-A' created the photo library and placed in this folder. I got a new MacBook and become useless 'USER-A' on this iMac, so I deleted the user. Now whenever I try to open the library of photos of 'USER-B', I get an error 8076. It is clearly linked to the fact that 'USER-A', which was the only user with read and write permissions is most noted on the iMac. When you attempt to change the user permissions, I get the same error 8076. Y at - it any resolution known to do this? I may have a time machine backup when 'USER-A' was still on the iMac.

I'm waiting for the confirmation of the guys from the Live team on this, but I've corrected this problem.

The error came from the fact that Windows registry stalled Chronogram of some access roads network I had on my computer from a former WHS (Windows Home Server) box so basically, Windows Explorer - WL photo library was still trying reach these network paths, even if in Explorer / settings there is no references to WHS, so registry entries in neutral paths and wrong...

Replace the data of those key in the Windows registry under the HKEY CURRENT USER corrected this problem and I was able to start WL photo library.

  • ICloud using photo library for the first time

I am considering switching to iCloud photo library for the first time - mainly so I'll be able to use the new functionality of memories in iOS 10. However, I have quite a large library of Photos on my Mac and I'm worried about the mistakes of synchronization, bugs and any damage my irreplaceable photos. I have a Time Machine backup, but each backup on which generally only lasts a week or so, and with a large library of errors can take some time to appear. Should I be worried? Are there precautions I need to take?

In view of all the people who use it, there are very few messages on issues. Since you have a backup, you can still recover. You can consider to get a 2nd external and make a copy of your photo library in order to have 2 backups. Depending on the size of your library, you may need to purchase additional iCloud storage as free storage space is 5 GB. With a large number of photos, it will take much time to complete the synchronization. Some people have posted their s took 2 to 4 weeks. Our respective synchronization went well and we had no problem.

    Hi all

I upgraded to the El Capitan Yosemite. Before I made a backup of the files I wanted to with Time Machine, among them was the photo library. Everything went normally, when I tried to reset the library, 'walk back' in Time Machine, I selected photo library file and began to recover, but whenever I do this operation he reached a certain point and opens the Finder error message, as shown in the image below.

I tried to copy directly to the disc and it pops up the same error. Already looked everywhere and still cannot find a solution. I already have all the permissions.
None of the solutions encountered solved my problem.

Translation of the error message box: "Finder has not completed the operation because it was unable to read or write data to"Biblioteca do Fotografias.photolibrary".

  • Creation of photo library

I just updated my 2008 PowerBook for a ssd hard drive and have the old internal drive in an external drive. I found the old photo library with externally connected and can select it and see pictures but cannot create a new library on the new SSD without error message when the file is transferred. My plan was to drag and drop it on the desktop and place it in the new folder of pictures and find a picture to make the new library. It seems he just can't copy a file too big, 90 GB and trying, but it is not all the way.  I tried to drag and drop time machine too with the same problem. Do I need an app or is there something about the Photo to get the library directly and create a new one on the ssd? I made a backup direct time machine I wanted a new system not cluttered with all the old debris virtually everything but the pictures are set up on the new SSD at this stage. Thank you!

Your old photo library may have a corrupt and need of repair before copy you it to the drive internal.  Also, there may be permission and file ownership issues.

I would first try to repair the photo library - how to fix is described on this help page: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht6be18f93

Then try again to drag the library to the internal drive.

It copies without errors?  If this is not the case, use a software of cloning (Carbon Copy Cloner, Super Duper). to clone the photo library to the new location. This can work around errors in the file.

  • Delete a photo library, now can bring into the iPhoto library

I have Photos of El Capitan put in place to manage multiple libraries on the same MacBook Pro internal hard drive.  I was trying to create a new additional library, but seem to have screwed things up.

I created the new photo library, called "BB_Photos", then introduced in photos from iPhoto to Snow Leopard.  I note that the same name iPhoto library is on a second internal hard drive.  The new library seems to have created OK in El Capitan.  However, I was unhappy and trashed the library of Photos of El Capitan, in the hope of re - create.  Now I can't pictures released Photos a second time.

In Snow Leopard, the library presented as 'BB_Photos.migratedphotolibrary' and I can line up the pictures of El Capitan.  (Even once, note that these are on two separate disks, because I am dual boot.)  Photos I am trying to re-import or something, but I trashed this library.  Are photos ransacked still hiding somewhere in the Photos?

The iPhoto library is visible from El Capitan pictures inside, but it is grayed out and not available.  However, I can still open and view inside Snow Leopard iPhoto library.

How can I cancel my original error and get "BB_Photos" in El Capitan pictures?  I can't the library of Snow Leopard to be "not migrated" so Photos can see it again?

Photos does not open "BB_Photos", because the file name extension ".migratedphotolibrary" shows that the library has already migrated to the Photos.

Simply restore the file name extension ".photolibrary". You can do this in the Info Panel.

Select "BB_Photos... migratedphotolibrary" in the Finder, then enter the ⌘I key combination to open the information panel. Change the file name extension in the "Name & Extension" section of the Info Panel.

You may need to click on, then uncheck "hide the Extension."

  • What does the option "copy photos to the photo library?

I explore this now app Photos (worst name ever) and I wanted to import photos in Photos. The problem for me is I want to let the pictures where they already are. I'm not interested in a database or the system that hides the pictures of me in the finder. I want to be able to right click and reveal in finder - "export image" is a terrible choice.

So, I see an option to check in the preferences. It reads: "Copy pictures to the photo library" but has no explanation as to what that means or does. This is what it will move my photos if I select copy? (their disappearance from the original file)? It will resume photos - clutter up my drive? If we make a copy and I update the original in Photoshop - it will reflect this change in the Photo?

So many questions and I can not find an answer to any place. Even the help files had nothing that I could find.

Default is 'Copy photos to the photo library' enabled.  Then the pictures will do exactly that. Any Photo that you import pictures is copied in the photo library and managed by pictures. You can remove the original outside the library after you have verified that it imported properly.

If you disable the option, pictures reference the file in its original location and does not copy it.

This configuration is not recommended because you have to manage photos on your own. If you delete photos of Photos, you must delete the original outside yourself. You cannot use iCloud photo library with referenced files and if dot nee restore you from a backup library will need films to another drive, you will need to manually reconnect all originals. It is subject to errors.

If we make a copy and I update the original in Photoshop - it will reflect this change in the Photo?

It will not work. Two Photos will ignore changes to Photosho or lose the connection to the original file. To use an external editor in pictures use extensions to change Photos photo editing panel. Let the pics to send the original to the external editor.

  • Send photos to iCloud photo library - referenced files

I am trying to transfer photos to ICloud library and get the message error "775 files referenced in your library don't download not to ICloud photo library" when doing the research on this site I found how to make a smart file of the "referenced files" and selected "consolidate."  When I do that, it says "Allow photo to access your media" and tells me to choose a folder "sub" and where to find.   When I find the folder and select it I get the message "Cannot find the original file IMG_4515.JPG" when I go out and look for this Image and as always is a duplicate I then go back and go through the process again only so he could tell me another photo it does not remove it.  I get the sense he'll browse all 775 files in this way?  Help?  What should I do to get rid of these referenced files?  and if I find them in the photo and delete them is that going to help?  When I search the photo in the finder can't find something?  I am, once again, at a loss?  It seems that my system continues to download on iCloud, as the number of downloads is moving?

and get the message error "775 files referenced in your library don't download not to ICloud library"

It is not an error message, this is just a warning.  You can ignore other photos upload nevertheless.

What should I do to get rid of these referenced files?  and if I find them in the photo and delete them is that going to help?

If you are sure, that all of the referenced photos are duplicates, delete the photos in your smart album "referenced". I would create a copy of your photo library on a backup drive, before you do. In this way, you will be able to come back later, if you notice any missing files.
