Hi Ellen,.

What program exactly do you use to do the download (name and version) - I'm not familiar with any Office program that performs downloads - although you can get attachments via Outlook (Internet Explorer and if so which version)?  In the place where (what exact path name) do you download (desktop, downloads,...)?  This ONLY happens on the PDFs - I mean can you download other types of files such as .doc or .xml or other (or if you have not tried)?  What is the EXACT message text receive you (especially the vz module error message but all other messages as well) and when to do each process occur?  What version of Vista are you using (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2) and you have installed language packs?  When exactly the problem started?  What version of Microsoft office are you using?  Do you have Adobe Reader installed (or some other ptrogram which can open and read PDF files (if so, what name and version)?)

Let's start with a fairly simple option that can solve the problem.  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time before the problem started (give him room to manoeuvre a little if you can).  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

For additional help (if the system restore does not resolve the problem), I need answers to the questions in paragraph 1.  Sorry, but we need your help with this information to help you.

Thanks and good luck!

  • Downloaded PDF file is not readable

For more than a site, I downloaded PDF files and saved on my computer. I am running the latest version of Firefox under Win 7 32 bit. When I go to open the file with the latest version of Adobe Reader 9 or Foxit, I get an error message indicating that the file is not in a recognized format or is corrupted. (Although the content of the messages are different, it is the substance). Download the same file in IE produces files that can be read by a PDF reader.

I don't mean to play the file in Firefox, just download it, then open it. None of the threads that I've explored seems to solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated as I really don't want to use IE anymore.

    Thank you!!

A quick update on my problem. After I posted this question, I remembered seeing a post somewhere that mentioned a performance bug that occurs when the downloaded file is being saved to a folder on a network computer, not the computer that's been downloaded. That's what I do. So, to test it, I changed the location where FireFox stores files downloaded from the network location mapped to a folder on the computer that I use to do the download. Guess what? The downloaded files are OK and not considered "corrupt". I can't find the post that said that there is a problem with FF transfer the file to the computer on the network without giving full NTFS file properties, but this seems to be the issue. So, I guess I just solved my problem. Go figure.

After seeing a few screenshots of the file I think I see what's happening now. There is a watermark diagonal URL through the page that is converted to a link automatically by the application. Disable it go to Edition - Preferences - general and uncheck the box that says "create links from URLS".

  • How can I call Save as dialog box before you download pdf files?

How can I call Save as dialog box before you download pdf files?

    Here's my favorite scenario:

    1. the user clicks on the button

2 Save as dialog box displays

    3. the user chooses the place

    4. a set of PDF files download here OR download a single zip file

    Background:

I want to ensure that the user sees that the files are downloaded. I'm content to users who are not Web warned.

    Concern:

    1. the user has no idea how to find the downloaded files or files have even downloaded.

    2. I would like to deliver all in the form of zip files. Not sure if the automatic opening of zip files still exist.

    FOR INFO:

I use jQuery UI buttons. Not sure if that factors in the response.

Just for clarity, I'm not forcing a download. The user will click on a button.

Click on a button or click on a link, either way you are technically running a script to force a download.

I guess that's the PHP on the server.

Yes but it is only a part of it.  Once the form runs, another script is called that opens the browser download dialog.

Y at - it a php script to call the open/save dialog box?

    Yes.

    Hello

I'm trying to make a downloadable pdf file from my ftp server.

the best way to do is to download the file on the ftp server, but then I don't know how to link

or what link I will give

    any help?

Catalyst allows you to create a click on > the interaction of the url. This won't work for a http link, but you can change your project in the generator to make the link to load via ftp.

  • Firefox won't download PDF files with javascript:doDownload();

I just installed Firefox version 9.0.1, hoping that it would solve this problem, but no luck. My bank allows me to download and print my credit in the form of PDF files on their site. I checked the code and the button that I click implements a javascript:doDownload(); function. A small panel that allows me to enter the radius of the page opens. I then click OK and nothing happens. An earlier version of Firefox (version 3.0) had no problem with that and I was able to download and save my bank statements on my hard drive in the form of PDF files.

Also, please check if it has been updated to work with the latest Firefox. Tools (Alt + T) > modules, click on Extensions to the left, right Add on PDF and find updates or click more and Home Page to go to the website add-on.

  • why I can't open a downloaded .pdf file?

When I download a PDF from the Internet and save it, the name and the file extension pdf all them seem to be in order.  However, when I try to open the file I get the following error message: "Acrobat file cannot be opened" site/folder/name.pdf "because it is not a type of file supported or because the file has been damaged."  I use Adobe Acrobat XI for Mac.

I was able to open other pdf files that are not downloaded from the Internet without problem.

After I download a PDF from the Internet I can't use select all to select the document to use in Pagis.

Because I frequently need to access pdf files downloaded from the Internet, the current situation is totally unacceptable.

    Help!

This happens usually if he was transferred incorrectly or inconsistent with the download, probably the first system. This happens with all PDFs or just a little? Have a link so that we can try? What operating system and the version of Acrobat are you using?

With regard to the problem of download, people sometimes download a PDF as ASCII file and it's a binary file. Download ASCII corrupts the file. The first need is to see if it's a problem of downloading or something else, then the URL would be helpful.

  • How to remove the downloaded PDF files?

I use an android phone and can access the PDFs using Firefox, I downloaded but how to remove PDF files, that I can't keep?

By default, Firefox stores downloads in your device's standard download folder. So here's what I suggest:

    (1) removal of in Firefox: menu > tools > downloads > press and hold the > delete

    (2) check the downloads app system to ensure that it has been deleted physically there as well and, if not, delete it using this application

To confirm the interaction, you could open the app downloads system first, make sure that the PDF file is there, then delete it to in Firefox and when you return to the downloads application, it should be gone.

    It works on your device?

  • Corrupt downloaded PDF files. Why?

When I download a PDF file, I am not able to open them later. File is corrupted.

Hello perdomoff, a fix for this problem should happen in firefox 26. in the meantime, you could also install the current development version of the pdf viewer, which is available as addon from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi and that should already contain the fix.

    Hello

WordPad can't open PDFs correctly, you need a pdf reader, and the most popular is Adobe reader. Please download it from the following link and install it on your computer:
