  • Downloaded PDF file is not readable

    For more than a site, I downloaded PDF files and saved on my computer. I am running the latest version of Firefox under Win 7 32 bit. When I go to open the file with the latest version of Adobe Reader 9 or Foxit, I get an error message indicating that the file is not in a recognized format or is corrupted. (Although the content of the messages are different, it is the substance). Download the same file in IE produces files that can be read by a PDF reader.

    I don't mean to play the file in Firefox, just download it, then open it. None of the threads that I've explored seems to solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated as I really don't want to use IE anymore.

    Thank you!!

    A quick update on my problem. After I posted this question, I remembered seeing a post somewhere that mentioned a performance bug that occurs when the downloaded file is being saved to a folder on a network computer, not the computer that's been downloaded. That's what I do. So, to test it, I changed the location where FireFox stores files downloaded from the network location mapped to a folder on the computer that I use to do the download. Guess what? The downloaded files are OK and not considered "corrupt". I can't find the post that said that there is a problem with FF transfer the file to the computer on the network without giving full NTFS file properties, but this seems to be the issue. So, I guess I just solved my problem. Go figure.

    I found the solution:

    I had to reset panels to view the Pages again.

    After seeing a few screenshots of the file I think I see what's happening now. There is a watermark diagonal URL through the page that is converted to a link automatically by the application. Disable it go to Edition - Preferences - general and uncheck the box that says "create links from URLS".

  • How can I call Save as dialog box before you download pdf files?

    How can I call Save as dialog box before you download pdf files?

    Here's my favorite scenario:

    1. the user clicks on the button

    2 Save as dialog box displays

    3. the user chooses the place

    4. a set of PDF files download here OR download a single zip file

    Background:

    I want to ensure that the user sees that the files are downloaded. I'm content to users who are not Web warned.

    Concern:

    1. the user has no idea how to find the downloaded files or files have even downloaded.

    2. I would like to deliver all in the form of zip files. Not sure if the automatic opening of zip files still exist.

    FOR INFO:

    I use jQuery UI buttons. Not sure if that factors in the response.

    Just for clarity, I'm not forcing a download. The user will click on a button.

    Click on a button or click on a link, either way you are technically running a script to force a download.

    I guess that's the PHP on the server.

    Yes but it is only a part of it.  Once the form runs, another script is called that opens the browser download dialog.

    Y at - it a php script to call the open/save dialog box?

    Yes.

  • downloadable pdf file

    Hello

    I'm trying to make a downloadable pdf file from my ftp server.

    the best way to do is to download the file on the ftp server, but then I don't know how to link

    or what link I will give

    any help?

    Catalyst allows you to create a click on > the interaction of the url. This won't work for a http link, but you can change your project in the generator to make the link to load via ftp.

  • Firefox 11.0 stopped download PDF files automatically when I click on a link. The download folder is always selected in the preferences.

    When I click on a PDF file that would normally cause the download folder to open it, I am rather taken to a blank white page and nothing happens.

    I use a Mac OS X 10.6.8.

    I recently installed Flash Player to preview an FLV file that I put on my site. I don't remember if the problem started after the installation.

  • Period of the network while putting the image (PDF file)

    Hello

    I use following code to place texts and PDF text files unique chassis.

    If the PDF file is located in the local folder then file works perfectly as desired, if the PDF path is a network path, then overlap going on.

    I insert the text and pdf in this sequence.

    Place the PDF

    place Text1,

    place Text2,

    place Text3,

    Place the PDF

    place Text1,

    place Text2,

    is it possible, to tell the system to wait(sleep will result in more delay) until we put the content and then move to the next text content.

    or

    is it possible to load the PDF for the links and then place the PDF from the link?

    example code:

    var tframe = app.documents[0].pages[0].textFrames.add ();
    tframe.geometricBounds = [0,0,"150mm","150mm"];
    var myfile= "C:\\Karthik\\Ellipse.pdf";

    //inline.anchoredObjectSettings.anchoredPosition = AnchorPosition.aboveLine;
    for(i=0;i<10;i++)
    {
    // some network path
    myfile= "\\xyz server\\Ellipse.pdf";
                    if (i==0)
                    {
                                    var inline =tframe.insertionPoints[0].place (myfile)[0].parent;

                                    }
                    else
                    tframe.insertionPoints[-1].place (myfile)[0].parent;
                    tframe.insertionPoints[-1].contents = "\rSample text\rMore sample text\r";

    }

    is it possible, to tell the system to wait (sleep will cause further delay) until we put the content and then move to the next text content.

    or

    is it possible to load the PDF for the links and then place the PDF from the link?

    example code:

    You can make the system sleep by calling $. sleep() like this:

    $.sleep(milliseconds)

    I doubt that this will solve your problem, however, because the commands run in the order that program you.

    The content can be moved because your textframe overflows. Try the history instead targeting when you place.

    tframe.parentStory.insertionPoints[-1].place(myfile)

    Does make a difference?

  • How to remove the downloaded PDF files?

    I use an android phone and can access the PDFs using Firefox, I downloaded but how to remove PDF files, that I can't keep?

    By default, Firefox stores downloads in your device's standard download folder. So here's what I suggest:

    (1) removal of in Firefox: menu > tools > downloads > press and hold the > delete

    (2) check the downloads app system to ensure that it has been deleted physically there as well and, if not, delete it using this application

    To confirm the interaction, you could open the app downloads system first, make sure that the PDF file is there, then delete it to in Firefox and when you return to the downloads application, it should be gone.

    It works on your device?

  • Corrupt downloaded PDF files. Why?

    When I download a PDF file, I am not able to open them later. File is corrupted.

    Hello perdomoff, a fix for this problem should happen in firefox 26. in the meantime, you could also install the current development version of the pdf viewer, which is available as addon from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi and that should already contain the fix.

  • Firefox won't download PDF files with javascript:doDownload();

    I just installed Firefox version 9.0.1, hoping that it would solve this problem, but no luck. My bank allows me to download and print my credit in the form of PDF files on their site. I checked the code and the button that I click implements a javascript:doDownload(); function. A small panel that allows me to enter the radius of the page opens. I then click OK and nothing happens. An earlier version of Firefox (version 3.0) had no problem with that and I was able to download and save my bank statements on my hard drive in the form of PDF files.

    Also, please check if it has been updated to work with the latest Firefox. Tools (Alt + T) > modules, click on Extensions to the left, right Add on PDF and find updates or click more and Home Page to go to the website add-on.

  • Chrome - cannot download pdf files

    I just realized that I can no longer download or save a PDF file open in Chrome during navigation.

    PDF download files when using my Windows laptop, 10 in Chrome and will also work when using Firefox on Mac.

    Opens a PDF fine, I can use other tools such as printed, rotate, zoom in/out all work fine, I can not just save them via the "disk" icon in the upper right corner. I also tried to do a right-click Save - as, but it only allows me to record in an HTML file.

    Any ideas?
