Error code 80070570

I know error Code 80070570 was discussed here a few times, but I have not been able to find the answer I'm looking for.

Let me explain a few things:

  • I am on Windows 7
  • My computer is 64-bit, a laptop HP g62-231nr
  • My antivirus software is SecureIT Management Console
  • I got this computer from August 2010
  • My problem is that I cannot perform updates Windows due to the aforementioned error code
  • According to me, this lack of updates, it's what causes an audio problem on my computer, where all audio streams skips and stutters.
  • I'm NOT able to just go out and buy new software to fix my problem
  • I'm paranoid about things online downloading, so if this part of your proposal of solution, please explain what that download will do and why
  • I'm also paranoid about deleting things from my computer, so once again if it is your proposed solution, please explain why
  • I DON'T spreken ze tech-talk - please he dumb down for me.

So my question is how to resolve this error code situation insofar as I can finish updates (preferably without having to download anything). Let me know if you need more information (remember, specific and dumbed down) and I thank you in advance!

ERROR_FILE_CORRUPT 80070570 indicates that "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable".
