Error: Format of Windows Movie Maker not taken in charge when sending slide show
original title: need help in windows movie maker... *...
I use Windows Vista Home Premium and windows 7 on this computer. I am confused about how to view the slide show of pictures of classic cars, I took at a car show last weekend. I tried to put the slideshow on my external account and another external account, but got an error message in the sense of Windows Movie Maker format is not accepted. I was told that the file I have must be in WMV format. I tried a converter, but it did not have the required conversion. I can put slidshows together but how to get the updates and other, I'm kind of a total newbie to know what to do. Is there someone out there who can help me try to get this converted so I can view the slide show in the two external accounts I want to use? I don't know if it is acceptable to say what two external accounts I need, because sometimes forums do not allow the names of these accounts unrelated to the issue at hand.
Any help is greatly appreciated and welcomed. I have the slide show minimized in my taskbar, so I will not lose her, but I'd love to get help as soon as possible. I'll check in here to see what kind of assistance is coming to meet me.

It seems that you saved the file (mswmm or wlmp project
Depending on your version of Movie Maker) that is
useful for a re-release in Movie Maker and cannot be read
by others.
Try to save your project in the. WMV Movie format...

Error message in Windows Movie Maker 2
I use Windows XP and have the latest Service Pack.
In any case, when I download a Youtube video and import it into Movie Maker, it works perfectly. Then I add the clips in the Timeline. I cut the sound. I then cut part of the video. Then when I try to save it to my desktop, it fails and I get an error message saying that I either:1 is missing source files (I'm not sure what this is.) I think they are clips, but I already have all the clips when I imported the video.)2. not having enough space (I have more than 1.3 GB of space on my hard drive. The film takes only 6 MB.)3. the backup location does not exist (My Desktop exists.)I already searched the site and got no response. I tried to contact someone who works for Microsoft, but I have to pay $50 (which is a RIP-OFF).Can someone help me?Apparently the .wmv files you have are corrupted somehow.

I did a movie with effects and audio and save the file. However, when I go to open the file, I can not and I have a msg which States:
The file C:\Users\Yolanda\Videos\Yolanda's BDay 34th slide show. MSWMM cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.
In computer science, I'm not notified. I need advice so that I can open and see all the hard work that was put into this project.
Thank you.

You may need to split the clip 23 min into smaller clips. Publish them separately. Then re-import them in wmm and see if she agrees to publish this time. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

Three possible causes of the failure to save:(1) the incompatible source files... (eventually... MPG or MP3)
Sometimes it is useful to disable the filters... Tools / Options /.
Compatibility tab... Uncheck all the boxes / OK.Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:Photos - bmp
Video - wmv
Audio - wav, wma, wmv(2) files source corrupted... the only solution for this would be to
Remove the source files of the project one at a time and
try to save each time until the problem file is discovered.(3) project is too big or too complex for system resources.
Create several small projects... Save as WMV.
Then re - import WMV files collected / drag in the timeline
and record the final movie. The following of the former article has some info.

Substitute:
Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:
1. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»
2. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
3. in the menu 'Start', click 'run '.
4. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec/regserver", and then press ENTER.
If this is insufficient, the I would say to install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and run that to remove the Java remains Setup files that can cause problems with your current installation.

Click Start Orb, in the box, type search: Regedit.
Highlight: HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/services/msiserver
Verify that the SYSTEM account has full control. If it does not, add the SYSTEM account with full control.
Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

Windows Movie Maker-hardware error?
While trying to save/burn a movie on Windows Movie Maker project, I worked, I got the following error message:
"Windows Movie Maker can not be used because the required audio hardware is not found on your computer."
Please help, its a long time that I've used WMM, but I used many times before and would be eaten: lose my project, thank you.
It could be a codec/filter disabled, or inconsistent. In Movie Maker-> tools-> Options-> tab compatibility-> filters, see if your audio filters are checked (all others must be verified), if you haven't put the brakes on their topic. If all are already checked, click on the "Restore all defaults" button. Other filters will be disabled, you may still need those disabled to run other programs installed them. Enable disabled filter a while then check that filter out the origin of the problem.
If this does not work, it may be more of a need to get an extra codec rather than switch off. You can use the encoded Xvid or Divx files you need codecs. Make a search for K-Lite, DivX and XviD codecs and install them.
I hope I could help

Hi napoleonfoo,
Did you follow the steps provided by John Inzer?
To better understand the issue, we need the following information:
(a) what is the exact error that you receive when you import video into windows movie maker?
(b) what is the file format of the video you are trying to import?
(c) means the video sharing with each drive that you use or simply with a particular player?
To clarify, you try to install a program (or download the program)? What program are you trying to install? You get a specific error message?
See the link below for the file format supported.
Import video, images and audio in Windows Movie Maker
You can search online for the codec or convert the file into a format that windows movie maker can understand.
