  I could use some help with Essbase Studio... I installed Essbase in distributed environment (Studio, Integration Services, and Essbase Server are installed on the same machine). Now, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm starting Essbase Studio Console, when you are prompted, I should enter the server name (address) Essbase Studio Server where, as a result, the machine mentioned above. It works fine, when it's done in client tier installed on this machine, but I can't seem to log on remotely (from another place), the error is: network communication with the server failed.   The studio console can be located anywhere and connect to studio server, if the server of the studio is definitely up and running, it could be a firewall issue, make sure that the ports of studio are certainly open.

• dimension of the hierarchical attribute with Essbase Studio

  I need to load the product dimension that is organized in a parent-child relational table like this:
  (parent_code, member_code, member_alias, mark, consolidation, formula)
  
  Each product has a mark and I need to load brand as a dimension of the attribute. The thing is the brand isn't flat, but it has its own hierarchy. For the brand, I have another relational table, where the data are organized parent-child like this:
  (brand_parent, brand_child, brand_alias).
  
  I do this load with Essbase Studio but I know is not how to create the Product hierarchy in the cube schema in order to load the parent-child hierarchical attributes. Documentation and tutorials only show examples of dishes attributes. I thought of these two ways, but do not know if will work:

• How to set the alias with Essbase Studio?

  I read through P113-P118 "Oracle Essbase Studio user's Guide" on how to implement aliases. It seems easy t create the Alias defined according to the document.
  I want to put 100-10 aliases as "Cola", the information comes from the RDBMS to confirm. The product in RLDB a field SKU and SKU_Alias columns table, the Reference value is: 100-10 100 - 20, etc.

  First of all, it can be useful convert IST TBC in the Studio model, for this you will need to configure EIS and create the example application to confirm.
  Once it has been created in Studio, you can go to tools > migration catalogue IST and migrate the TBC of IST at the Studio application.
  If you use this method, all the aliases etc will be already set up to see how it's done.

  To set up the alias, you would go to
  Tools > "Alias set Manager" > create a new alias say "Default" and add a link, for example PRODUCTDIM. SKU to PRODUCTDIM. SKUALIAS

  Then on your right click "Properties Essbase" model > Alias tab > select the default alias table and move the window selected tables.
  This should then assigned the default table, if you check the properties to say PRODUCTDIM. SKU in the default alias tab and the mapping must be indicated.

• Error when connecting with the Remote Console

  We get the attached error when you click on a paralytic to vCloud Director.  The inner coating IP address is the ip address of the proxy console.  Any ideas what might be causing this error?  I thought, it might be something with my SSL certificate, but I'm not sure.

  Certainly, that's the problem here. It shouldn't take 1 minute and 45 seconds for the remote console to pop up window, in fact, I would say that it should begin in a few seconds (certainly less than 10 seconds). You are not sure if it's because of IE 9?

  The error message looks like it tries to connect to my server vCenter.  Do the users who are connected to vCloud Director must be able to connect on the server vCenter Server?  I thought it would just use the user that configure you when you connect on the vcenter Server.

  The console proxy (a component of the cell of vCloud Director) acts as a proxy for users connected to vCloud Director. It is the latter that connects to your vCenter Server server, and that's what you read in the papers.

  Try this on any other OS/browser support matrix. In addition, if you can dig why it takes more than 10 seconds for the remote console to the pop-up window, you would have found yourself a solution. If this does not work, contact the Support of VMware.

  I tried to restructure an ASO for a unicode application outline... and I get this error:

  so try to use the command

  I tried to put the command in a signed file UTF8, but still have the question.

  Is it possible to use this utility (ESSCMDQ) on request for ASO to restructure the sketch?

  Is there another way to make outlines of a request for ASO restructuring?

  In the environment where ESSCMDQ runs, the value of the environment variable "ESSCMDQ_UTF8MODE" and make sure it is equal to 1:

  2. Once you have verified that it is located in the environment for the user/cmd line used to run ESSCMDQ, run ESSCMDQ again. It should now be able to compact this sketch ASO Unicode.

• Essbase Studio Error (1021001): could not establish a connection with SQL data

  I try to deploy a cube Essbase Studio but I get the error: "* Error (1021001): could not establish connection to the SQL database server."
  
  My environment is Linux 5, Oracle 11 g and EMP 11.1.1.2. Database Oracle and Essbase has been installed with different users. The .bash_profile to hypadmin user (i.e. install Essbase) I put the following variables

  In my pc (windows xp), I can open the Essbase Studio console, the connection to the Oracle server, get the tables and create a minischema of measures and hierarchies (I can see the preview of hierarchies). I also can create cubes with EAS and can connect with MAXSHELL to essbase.
  
  When I try to deploy the cube of Essbaes Studio there get the error ' Error (1021001): failed to establish connection to SQL Database Server.

• Receive error message when you connect to a Hyperion Essbase Studio 11.1.2

  I searched the forum trying to find an answer to my problem without success. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  
  When you try to connect to Essbase Studio Client, you receive an error "connection with Essbase Studio Server error: network error ', in the details of the tab of this popup is"network communication with the server failed. Check your network connection and try again.
  "Connection refused: connect". I found that this usually means that the Essbase Studio Service is not running. 11.1.2 Hyperion Essbase Studio is installed as a service. I don't know if this is the case in previous environments.
  
  The windows service is running and running and I also try to start from the start menu and it doesn't seem to be errors. But when I look at the logs of start-up, that's what I find.

  I tried out the "-" in the server names and the name of DB without help, I tried to put quotes around the "hstudio_dev.hypsql" with no luck, and I tried to connect to a database that had no '-' inside. I also followed the steps described by the support for the same question in 11.1.1.x which you enter in the DB > Security > schema > add a new schema/user, create the user and the owner of the schema, etc. It also did not help.
  
  This is a new installation and everything else is fine to connect to DB, default user hypsql DB is the DB hstudio_dev. I installed in different environments, and this same problem happening in both environments. Please let me know if you have any questions, thank you for your time and your help.
  
  Also, I realize in the DB and I see that a lot of tables in fact were created then it will connect at least during Setup. I've also reconfigured several times without success on different from the DB and always new/clean the DB. and the hypsql of the user is a DBO for this DB. It's DB SQL 2005, Windows 2003 servers.

• Doubts with LCM and Essbase Studio.

  Hi, I come back to Essbase world after several years of working with other platforms (specifically, Business Objects) and I'm trying to understand how the LCM with cubes designed with Essbase Studio 11.1.2.2.
  My client works with 3 atmospheres, Dev, pre and Production. So, when I draw a cube from a relational database in Essbase Studio this cube uses a dev environment relacional database and now is when my doubts, if I use the LCM to promote the cube of Dev to pre, how to change the connection uses the database relacional of pre-production to load and forest - through actions?

  The essbase studio server must be started before you can use the client, the client connections to the server studio.

  It's the equivalent of saying why can not I use customer EAS without starting the application server in Regional service.

  I have a model in Essbase Studio to work well, when I deploy using the Essbase Studio console can load data and dimensions to the Essbase cube.   We have 3 essbase BSO cubes and we perform a data, Member charges twice each day with Essbase Studio. Because of these many frequent deployments, the history of deployment for these models is spent and we try to clean history using the following command:
  
  call 'util': 'cleanModelHistory' ("ModelName", dataset:------' SchemaName "");
  
  PS: I've had rechangés mdoel and schema names with our model names and the cube schema
  
  But we receive one the following error message:
  
  CPL - procedure irregular name 'cleanModelHistory '. Line = 1.
  
  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. I will be able to define DT, i.e. at level 1 for the hierarchy of measures and get the transactional details for all children less than the parent?
  
  3. for the Scenario dimension, I defined DT at level 2. When I zoom in to all levels, DT is available for level 2, level 1, Level0. This is how it is supposed to work, or is it all just because my model follows the recursive hierarchy?
  
  4. Finally, in what other ways the source can be defined outside the recursive method? A simple example would be beneficial.
  I want to explore different options in order to acquire a full understanding of the capabilities of the studio.

  For recursive hierarchies, you specify the level that you want to activate to break through. He returned then all children level 0 under that level in a SQL clause.   You can use hierarchiers generation/level based as well by the presence of different levels of the joined tables or columns. My book Look smarter tan you with Essbase Studio gives examples of these types of hierarchies (this a shameless plug)

• Drill to Essbase Studio Thru Smart View

  Summer face to pierce through problems to access smart reviews based rpt with Essbase Studio, Smart view recognizes drill thru rpt but would only generate headers on drill definition report relational access through data is missing.

  tried the two standard GUI based summary report and SQL custom, also tried using SQl custom directly within SQl parameter passing these drill products required through data, you can also use Essbase Studio break through content report GUI test based passing parameters (filter values) this product good value.
  
  issue seems to happen on the forest to view smart thru where its not not brining in data on drill thru (only report headers are displayed).
  
  Essbase studio server is 64 bit windows 2003
  While Foundation server and RDBMS is on the box of 32-bit windows 2003, SQL server 2005.

  We use the EIAS for production and it seems to be more stable in Essbase 11.1.1.3 than the studio version.

  It seems that you use a member called Level0 to the dimension of the responsibility to a value of 3510.8365.0000000 and to represent the child of Member having a value of 60100 etc..
  Remember that you will have to put in the CP_number before the name based on the table alias. So if Timeperiods resembles join TimePeriods cp_101 then your $ $ColumnValue$ $ is replaced by cp_101.Months and bets of $$ $$ColumnValue replaced by 'MS '.

  Make these changes, and then run the query using a sql tool
