Error installing quicken on vista 2.0

I have an old Quicken 2.0 prgram that I really need to install on my computer. I have a gateway GT5428 PC with Windows Vista Home Premium. When I try to install Quicken 2.0 I get an error message "file system (COMMDLG reading." (DLL) removed but not replaced. Abandoned facility. "Any suggestions?

This was requested by donslyvia but the response has not been published.  so could you post the reply or contact me by e-mail to give me a workaround solution. I don't know that it's a Vista problem I installed in a XP machine.  Thank you.

Settling in earlier Compatibility Modes will not work:

Contact the manufacturer of the program for assistance.

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/

More recent programs are written not only for more functions. Thay also get written to the compatibility of the operating system.

If others above works and quicken can not help; you will need to update your program (it is, after all, 17 years old).

Good luck with it.

See you soon.

  • Error 'setup.exe has stopped working' when installing Quicken.

Original title: setup.exe has stopped working

I have read through the related forums and don't think I've seen a solid answer to this problem.  I'm trying to reinstall Quicken on my Dell Inspiron 530 Vista with service pack 2.  (Long and ugly tells how he got deleted at first - thank you, Intuit).

When I try to install Quicken, I get the above error message.  I tried the clean boot solution; I tried to enter the installation and execution of the exe directly from there; I tried to do a right click to open/run as administrator... etc.

I have NOT run BigFix.com or other third-party software to solve this problem - I'm very comfortable with another piece of software download and throw into the equation.  What is a corrupted registry and I have TO run third to fix?  Is it a bug of Vista - is there a fix of bug for her?

I really don't like that to 'guilty' at this point, I just want to repair and recover my electronic payments!  Help, please!

    Hey, Keenon,.

Please, remove all existing components of Quicken from the computer and do a fresh install.

Step 1: use QcleanUI uninstall Quicken

Follow the instructions in the article below for more information on how to use this tool.

  • How can I fix error 1326 install Quicken 2013 in Windows 8

I'm running Windows 8 and I get the following error message (verbatim) when I try to install Quicken 2013 (or re-install Quicken 2012)

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Quicken Failed to install - Exit Code: 1326

    The reason for this error:

    1326.error error file security: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\ GetLastError: 5

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Intuit tip of the finger firmly at Microsoft and said that it is a registry error.

It is aggravating me beyond words. The suggestions that I find are to reinstall Windows Installer (Windows 7 solution) or unsubscribes and re-0register the installer, which does not work either.

If anyone has any suggestions or better yet, solutions! I would be very grateful. Currently, I can not install any version of Quicken because this error occurs every time now.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jim

Using Windows 7, I spent hours looking for the solution to this question - Intuit, Microsoft and all that I was able to Google.  I came across this answer on the Site from the TurboTax software, and in fact, it worked for me.  I should note that, instead of simply refer 2 folders, I Redid the security on what whether in files of program or lists lists common target Intuit or Quicken.  Maybe it will work for win 8 also.

    3. Click the Security tab and then click the Edit button.
      • If a UAC window appears, click OK .
    4. In the window permissions , in the group or user names section, select your Windows user name. If your user name is not in the list:
      1. Click the Add button.
      2. Type your username in the box enter the name of the object to select, click check names, and then click OK.

    Matt,

The 8024200d result code indicates WU_E_UH_NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD
Update Manager did not install the update because it must be downloaded again.
Suggest you download and Save the complete stand-alone package of Vista SP1.

Links to the standalone versions are on this page because you validate that the edition of Vista is x 86 (32-bit) or x 64 (64-bit). You can see the architecture of the system of opening in the Panel and next to the search System system type: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Before attempting to apply the SP1 please consider this information-

If you choose to install Windows Vista SP1 via the standalone installer available on the Microsoft Download Center, Microsoft recommends that you first check Windows Update and install all drivers in option. Read the Articles in the Knowledge Base 948187 and 948343 for more information.

Suggest you to create a folder on the root drive (the drive where Windows is installed, usually C:\) and name SP1.
Move the downloaded Service Pack in the newly created folder.
Disconnect all the devices, printer, external USB hard drive, etc.

Then, Configure the system starts in a clean condition
After you restart the worm as a clean boot, apply SP1.

1 Quicken uninstall using the Windows Control Panel

    2. run qcleanui.exe and clean all versions.

    3. restart your PC

4 Quicken resettlement to a new distinct and NOT in the Program Files folder in the folder where your Quicken data resides and install as administrator (if on Vista).

5 update Quicken at the last updated R6.
