Error message "incompatibility of Type Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d': ' Cdbl'/ME2/Apps/Commerce/Common/Functions.asp, line1548 '.

I was on a wepage login page, I filled out the form, I hit continue and the next page that came was the error message: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: ' Cdbl'/ME2/Apps/Commerce/Common/Functions.asp,line1548

Also, yesterday, my mother was in his email on my computer and she tried to open an email and got a script error (I didn't see what he said) that she clicked on OK and then she locked out of his email and shegot an error message 999.

Who would have something to do with the other error message?  And what I can do about it? I don't know what to do.

Thank you.

These are errors in script on the pages (and probably have nothing to do with your connection or your system or IE) and there is not that you can do on them - that they sometimes occur.  However, you can stop or severely reduce the notifications.  Go to Tools / Internet Options / Advanced and uncheck display a notification of every script error and also the checkboxes next to two script debugging options to ensure that they are disabled.

I don't think that the errors are related (they are different pages) and I don't think you need worry no or do something beyond what I suggested above, unless you start to have more frequent or constant problems to access web sites or to stay connected or getting locked - then after back again and we'll take another look at the situation.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

My apologies for this presentation as a 'response' to another question. I am completely familiar with the mechanics of this forum and could not find out how to submit a question, but hope someone can help me!

I seem to be yet another victim of 'trust Tamper store', 'Windows 7 build 6701 this copy of Windows is not genuine,' 'Non-genuine Windows,' problem.  (Error code 0x80070005)  Win7 Pro, Lenovo OEM - had reloaded to "factory condition" on 2 new discs of hard without any problem.  This time he managed without problem for almost a year.  I applied all updates from MS just after 'Microsoft Update/patch Tuesday", on 21 and 22 April and checked several times thereafter:"up to date ".  Everything was fine for more than a week. During the race, my desktop went black (no picture, but the icons & files remained) and the non-genuine warning appeared in the lower right.  I checked MS Update (again, nothing).  I've not originally clicked on the links in the pop-up of MS Windows, suspecting that THEY might be malicious software (I aperiodically having a pop-up invites to update my antivirus right [AVG] - sometimes after having updated, but close the pop-up window and update normally, usually not to receive updates).

Then I found I couldn't open MS Office (Word, Outlook or Excel) programs (any of the worksheets first day of the month is NOT a good deal!).  The pop-up "Red Cross" read "Microsoft Office is unable to verify the license for this product.  You will need to repair the Office program by using the control panel. "I did, nothing helped.

I clicked on the link to "microsoft.com/genuine/validate/" and after that it lasted several hours, I gave up on that.

Somehow (perhaps via "Support and help" I found same son "Mike Toyn", "JasonSSX" and started reading these threads.  When I saw the entry on "inviolable trust store, I ran"Belarc Advisor"and concluded that the product key Windows 7 Professional (x 64) was QUITE different than on the OEM sticker (MS Office key was the same as on the DVD cover).»

I returned and tried to follow the suggestions in these discussions, running in some "dead ends."  In the command prompt, I have successfully changed the key to the right pair, but could not activate, receive «...» Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Permission denied. »

I downloaded and ran MS Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and ran it (see report below).  While I did not understand the report, I was worried to see the last 2 groups of 5 characters of my Win7 (NOT those of my Office key) under 'other data-->' ' Office details:

Today, I noticed later 'victim' of this issue, Eileen D. Pike, and I want a decided to try to get into this thread to do not have to back-up/image of my HARD drive, reformat and start of the way back to (to 2011) factory settings!

    Hello

The randomness of the name, the refused permissions and the fact that it is a file .vbs strongly suggests that the file is a virus tries to run the code that will change the set of system files. Do not allow him to run, but rather work to remove the file in question. If your Norton software cannot do, delete manually by rebooting in safe mode and delete the file from Windows Explorer. Hello Ronald.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

Significant changes have been made on the computer before this problem?

A runtime error is a software or hardware problem that prevents a program to function properly. Runtime errors could cause you to lose information in the file that you are using, causing errors in the file (corrupt the file) so that you cannot work with it, or prevent you from using a feature.

Runtime errors can occur if you are running two software programs that aren't compatible, if your computer has memory problems, or if the computer has been infected by malware. As you get "VBScript Runtime error '800A01A8'" on Internet Explorer 11, I suggest that you try following the suggestions provided in the following article and check if it can help solve the problem.

    Hello

You can put your system to boot in order to check the issue.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista or Windows 7 by performing a clean boot.

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 3 of the above article.

    Can anyone help?

Well... It has been a week. I know too much now.

ATTENTION: This field is very complicated AND there are too many incorrect analyses out there.

The problem for me is (FOCUSED) that the current user HK had entires THAT SHOULDN'T BE!

The computer settings are found under the Local Machine of HK. HKLM must be correct.

Procedure: REMOVE all entries in HKCU. Correct path the InprocServer32 value.

My specific (2738) error occurred trying to find "vbscript.dll" (aka "\{B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8"})

Some antivirus software redirects requests for certain things by herself (aka 'diversion'). If the

InprocServer32 is EMPTY (in HKCU - for me). All of the solution has been to remove the HKCU entries.

Another little attention is: (for example) vbscript.dll has several references (app, authorization, RegExp)

so be on the lookout for the 2 and 3, as well.

I removed the entries in HKCU. Run the error code again. (Mine = .msi)

This information is redundant. Gokul T response (upstairs) was correct. It does not sink into my head when I read it. But this thread was open the door to the solution for me.

    Thank you...

I am trying to install a turbo stick on my acer aspire - and getting a 2738 error could not access VBScript Runtime for custom action. I am running windows 7 and acer and Bell - my provider have not been able to help.

    Hey Kevin,

    Thank you for the update.

    1. Run as administrator command prompt:

      1. Menu start-> all programs-> Accessories
      2. Right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator
    2. Type the following command at the prompt: reg delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE \Classes\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}" /f, then press on enter.
    3. Then, you must also type the following command: c:\windows\system32\regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then press ENTER.

Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Problem of uninstalling with the error 'could not access VBScript Runtime for custom action'

I'm having a problem uninstall a program. I'm getting repeatedly blocked in error: "could not access VBScript Runtime for custom action.  That means this error in uninstall a program? Would appreciate a fix for this. The program is called Soluto.  Thank you.

P.S. I tried as admin and type regsvr32 vbscript.dll then regsvr32 jscript.dll in the command prompt.

As well as their registration as an administrator, you may need to remove the entries for them in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

    See:

Also, make sure that your antivirus software is not blocking scripts.
