y at - it a fix for this

Jake :)

Hmmmmm. something to do with your gfx then. did you say half-life? Half-life is a steam game but maybe you have a copy of the single player mode and you don't run steam? Hmm... sounds funky to me. I have all the half-lifes, all are steam... even if coming back to the question... When you're in the game, there is a menu of options for the video or the display on the right? What would you say to change the display or the number of bits in the video game options then try this. sounds like windows is having a hard time, passing resolution/depth of the game and return to the resolution you have set on windows. check this windows refresh rate is 60 Hz and try gfx settings in the game and get back to me. I'm curious to know why this is happening...

I just installed the game (Half Life 2)
whenever I play the game everything is fine until I have quit the game, my laptop fell down and restarts.
the error report I send said that there is a problem with my display driver.
before I start the game, I get a message that says that my display driver is outdated and that I could get in trouble, because my computer is a laptop, (Nvidia) do not carry the Toshiba drivers.
I've been on the Toshiba site and they have no display driver newer than the one I use now.
Please could someone suggest something I could try.
and Toshiba will bring a driver updated in the near future? This really seems a pity that the game seems to work verywell accept for this problem that exists.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P10 with a Nvidia G-FORCE FX GO5200 card inside.

I have the same card and I get the same message, however without crashing.

you have installed all the updates/fixes you can to ACE this may solve the problem.

What about drivers who are the cause of the accident, one of my friends had a lot of problems with regularize them and crashing and it was running the game on a custom platform so maybe it's not that the real fault.

  • Satellite Pro L100 PSLA4: ATI graphics card crashing in half-life 2, Team Fortress 2

    Hello

I have a satellite Pro L100 (PSLA4) with ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M graphics card.

During the game Team Fortress 2 and Half Life 2 Episode 2, the system breaks down frequently (screen goes black, then blue, then the computer automatically resets). After restart, Microsoft error reporting tells me that there is a problem with the card ATI display driver and recommend updating the driver.

I note that Toshiba has not released a new driver to display this map since 2005, and attempts to update via the ATI Web site do not work.
Is it possible to update the graphics driver or Toshiba has plans to release an update.
    Thank you

    Ian

    Hello

I use the driver of the * www.omegadrivers.net * site.
    It works on my laptop.

Download the right and compatible on then go to Device Manager and select the graphics card-> update

Then select Install from a list or a specific location-> don't search. I will choose the driver to install.

  • Update the display drivers for the game half-life 2

    Hey,.

the other day I tried to update my drivers for my gfx card on the Toshiba site (given that the ATI Web site download does not support Toshiba laptops) if I could play half-life 2. Whenever I play Half Life 2, my phone freezes within minutes. This happens only when I play Half Life 2, I can play games such as Far Cry and Medieval 2 Total War perfectly.

I have a Satellite A-100 237 with an ATI Mobility Radeon X 1600 256 MB. After that I finished installing the new drivers and restarted my laptop charged again but the contrast of the screen looked all messed up and the resolution is extremely low. So I restarted the computer laptop again and this time she refused to load Windows normally, just before he would charge up to the screen where I enter my password, a blue flash screen and the system should restart again.

I could start my system through Mode only without failure. I tried to do a system restore, but that did not work. In the end, I used the recovery CD and had to erase everything from my laptop. At the moment I am afraid to try again because I need my laptop for the University.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and solved?
Please any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I can only say that graphics cards for laptops are not the same thing as same GPUS for desktop PC. From my own experience, many games have problems with different graphics drivers for laptops.
I m also a player, but I would not buy laptops if I want to play the most recent, tough performance. Ok. I have a laptop for my mobility of its use and en office to play the game.

@macram: you can try the drivers omega but don t know if it helps.
Unfortunately, but I don t see any other possibility.

  • Data Execution Prevention ended at Half Life 2 (hl2.exe)

I bought half-life 2 and install it on my new Vista pc. So I finished the installation, and I open up half-life 2. It takes a strangely long time to load, and the second it seems to finish loading, it closes, saying that he had a problem and hl2.exe had to be closed. In my taskbar, a small message will appear, indicating that the prevention of execution of data is completed half-life 2, click here for more details. So I clicked on the little bubble, and he showed a lot of things on the data execution prevention. And so I tried to disable it to hl2.exe and hl2_launch.exe, and then I restarted my computer. Once rebooted, my computer, I opened hl2.exe again. Same thing has happened, data execution prevention blocked hl2.exe. (And I'm sitting at my desk thinking, "Hold it.") Didn't I just put hl2.exe and hl2_launch.exe as exceptions in the data execution prevention? ") So I googled until I found another way to help." Then I went in cmd, it ran as administrator and copied and pasted the code from a help page - bcdedit.exe/set {current} nx AlwaysOff

and you press on enter. I restarted my computer again. When it restarted, I opened half-life 2 and whadd' are knows, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. So what the hell is happening? Is it my computer? Or did Bill Gates? Help, please. It seems that I can't turn off DEP, and I can't add a program as an exception, even though my computer says I can. Oh yes, and I am the administrator, with all the privileges on my computer.

    Hello

As you have already given an exception to this game and the problem persists, it must have some other programs interrupted during the launch of a game. Try to disable all non-Microsoft programs and then play the game to check its operation.

    1. follow step 1 to perform a clean boot to disable all non-Microsoft programs: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    2. restart the computer and launch the game to check its operation.
    3. If the game works fine, then follow step 2 to step 6 to find out what is causing the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    4. follow step 7 to start the computer as usual.

You can also check if the problem continues in a new user account.

For more assistance, you can post your request here or contact the game manufacturer to find if there is a patch for this game: http://support.ea.com/

    I hope this helps.

  • Half-life games on win7 x 64 as 16-bit games

    Set launch options - 16bpp for 16-bit in win7 64 games.

But games like 32-bit still works (from the Task Manager)

How can I make a request on really running as 16-bit on x 64 machine?

    Hello udayonze.

64-bit Windows cannot run 16-bit applications.

To my knowledge, 32-bit binary only a half-life.  The 16bpp (16 bits per pixel) in the launch options refers to the depth of color and it is independent.  Today there is no reason why anyone run with less than 24-bit / 32-bit color.

  • 2 Ihave rundll to appear on my screen when I start saying error loading I need them to be installed or I can remove them thanks

2 rundll Ihave to appear on my screen when I start my pc, they declare that they are error loading c\windows\system32\prwleprn.dll. and c\windows\system32------nsiad.dll - (the specified module is not found.)   could you help please because I do not know if I need it or not if I could you tell me how I can install them, but if I don't need them could you tell me how I can remove them thanks

PML instructions are precise and concise.

My instructions for this issue are similar but more verbose - perhaps they will help you get your system fixed to the top (just read them first, then apply them).

A "Cannot find...". ', ' Failed to start..., "Could not load..." ». "Might not work... "" Cannot run ""error loading... ". "or"specific module could not be found"message at startup is usually related to the malware that has been configured to run at startup, but the referenced file has been removed after a malware scan, leaving behind him a startup item or the registry entry pointing to a file that does not exist.
It might be a removal of malicious software or an application not installed.  The entry may have a curious looking name since it was probably generated at random when the malware was installed. If you search your system for the referenced file, you may not find.
Windows attempts to load this file but cannot locate because the file has been deleted for most probably during an analysis of the malware. However, an orphaned associate of remainders of startup parameter or registry entry and tells Windows to load the file when you start or connection.
So you should delete the referenced entry Windows stop trying to load or run the file. It may or may not be included in the registry, but you can find it.  Autoruns (see below) you get the elements no matter where it is.

If you are comfortable editing the registry, you can find and remove the reference directly from there or remove it using a popular third-party tool called Autoruns.  The problem can always be found in the registry well.

Before making any changes to your registry by hand or with third-party tools, don't forget to first make a backup of the registry. There is no cancellation or exit without saving the option in regedit.
Here is a link to a popular registry backup tool:
You can also use the Autoruns to find the element of start remains little matter where he's hiding.

Autoruns does not install anything on your computer.  It will display all startup locations where the reference may be then you can turn it off or remove it completely.  Here is the download link for Autoruns:
Run Autoruns.exe and wait that he at the end of the filling of the list of entries.
When the Autoruns is finished scanning your system, it will say "Ready" in the lower left corner.  Autoruns can be a little intimidating to first if you have never seen it before because it displays a lot of information.  You are really interested only a few sections.
The problem is usually to start the system or the user startup entries, then click the connection tab and see if the startup item is there.
Scroll through the list and look for a boot entry associated files in the error message.
If you can't find on the connection tab, look in any tab.
You can also click file, search to search for logon, or any tab for all or part of the name of the element.
Right-click on the offending entry and choose Remove.  If you are not sure what it is, you can simply disable, restart and if the problem is resolved and then remove the offending entry.  If you don't see it in Autoruns, you may edit the registry and remove the item from your startup folder it.  Autoruns shall display the same information however.
Given that you had or have an infection, followed with this:
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.

  • Half-life 2 says failed to load the Launcher DLL specified module could not be found

Failed to load the Launcher DLL:

the specified module could not be found

    Hi Madoo17,

Welcome to the community of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue.

    1. Once you get this error message?

    2. it worked before?

3 did you changes to the computer before the show?

    Perform the steps:

    Method 1:

Put the computer in a State of boot is a way to know which application is causing this problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Step 1:

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

Follow the steps in the link below to do the same thing:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as shown here:

Step 2: To configure Windows to use a Normal startup state

After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    a. Click Start and then click Run.

    b. type msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    c. click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    d. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 2: Use the (SFC) System File Checker tool.

SFC system gives an administrator the ability to scan the files all protected to check their versions. If the System File Checker detects that a protected file has been replaced, it retrieves the correct version of the file in the folder cache (% Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache) or the Windows installation source files and then replaces the incorrect file. System File Checker verifies and repopulates the cache folder also. You must be logged in as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to run the System File Checker.

Check out this link to do the same thing:

Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)

Hope this information helps. Please reply back with the State so that we can help you.
