Error on startup scan hard disk

seal here is the error that I got when I did a scan of the hard disk bios... but I have no problem, the hard drive works fine... the only problem is that when the windows 7 is started it takes at least 3-4 minutes for programs to function normally... for example when I started the google chrome it will not show at least 1.2 minutes and after it opens but will not respond as I said it would take at least 3-4 minutes to function normally...

the other thing that is at the right end of the computer where the HDD I noticed get warm enough even in normal use (I mean the Internet surfing)... any help in this would be very appreciated... My doubt is that my drive is dying on semi-bas has been a year and a half since I have this Dell laptop (i3, 6 gb, 500HDD) N5050

Note: I have disabled all programs to start msconfig, so this isn't the issue of the slow

Danny,

Yes, you can replace the 500 GB drive with what anyone up to 2 TB. If you have created a recovery disk, you can reload with it.

  • T1200XE error fall on hard disk 0 initialization

    Hello!

I just bought an older T1200XE. When I start the laptop, it prints the message "error initializing hard disk 0" after the memory test, (a few seconds). I have to start with a floppy disk BACK.

If I run FDISK, after awhile, it says 'Disc read error fixed', but if I run FDISK/status it shows me the disk of 20 MB. I downloaded FreeDOS and the FDISK, including in this OS says "controller error".

I have an another T1200XE and this is exactly the same!
I can't believe that two controllers or hd is dead!

It may be possible that the free battery CMOS have erased the BIOS, but, how can I access the BIOS and configure the 20 MB HD? any idea? The setup1.exe program do not have a HD section...

    Hello

Your HARD drive is perhaps a pity
Can you see that the drive listed in the BIOS?
Are you able to reinstall the OS?

    You should first check this.
You could also test the HARD drive by using the drive fitness test tool:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm

This will check the disk on some points.

But if the HARD disk is damage need you a new!

    Hello!

If you enter the product recovery disc, Windows will be relocated and will be erasing all data on the HARD drive.

I think that your HARD drive is damaged. You can check this with the Drive Fitness Test. Here you can download:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.
On the same site is a user's guide if you want to know more.

By the way: you can save the data on the HARD drive, when you put it in a box external HARD disk. Then you can save the data on another PC, if the HARD drive is ok and have no errors.

I'm NOT a novice but I am confused.

I also went in the Boot Options in the BIOS to boot from a USB and put the USB HD in the first place.

When I restart it does not recognize a USB key. I tried Windows 8 and UBUNTU which ususally works on all the machines I've fixed so far.

    No chance whatsoever.

    As I mentioned earlier:

    I'm puzzled.

I have no recovery CD and cannot make one because I'm not running Win8 on any of my PC.

    Thus, any suggestions?

    Help, please

    Thanks in advance

    Henry of Kai

    First of all:

Thank you all very much for taking the time and you answer!

And now, for what happened after I did all what has been proposed:

    Nothing.

    The message remained the same.

Still no hard drive (even if it was new)

Then I took a hard drive to work with Win7 on it from another machine, put it in the Compaq and... nothing.

I tried the USB with Win8 (NTFS with Rufus) does not.

I don't know why, I tried again, but when I used the same USB with UBUNTU Live - 14.04. on that I had taken or tried before... He recognized at startup.

Weird hard drive wiped completely since it was not recognized by the BIOS (one with Win7 on it... data paths but I had backup ).

So, now I'm running the faithful Tahr on the Compaq and it works fine.

I will try to put the original Win8 on it, but the system doesn't seem like more since USB NTFS NTFS are not recongised at startup.

Well Anyhoo, I got the machine to work.

Would have been nice to know what was wrong with him to solve future problems, but at least I had to register in this forum

So I could bore you guys with questions in the future.

    Take care

  • G8 Pavilion laptop hardware error - new hard disk?

Hello, I spoke with a representative from HP and I wanted a second opinion. Here are the facts:

Possible virus causing the model to be very slow and have errors at the start up.

Problems of gel even in "safe mode".

Decided to do a "System Restore" using F8. Follow-up of the steps, took 20 + minutes, FINISHED.

A screen says that I can, "1. update of security for HP and microsoft;   2 re - install any other software;    3. install all the backed up files. I selected 'NEXT' at the bottom of the screen, then, "OPERATING SYSTEM not FOUND '. Now I can't other than 'F' screens anyhere

I call HP. A rep tells me to use F2, test drive. On a quick scan, 1 hard disk failure (SMART disc is OK). The full scan, 1 hard disk failure (SMART disc is OK).  The representative asked me a long code determine the failures, and there is NOT.  I go out of the main system diagnostics page and there are two failure codes: 303 (quick scan) and 305 (full scan). The rep wants codes any longer, but there is not.

My question: do I need a new hard drive, or I can just recovery disks?

Thanks for any help you can provide!   -Sarah

    Hello

Longer code (up to 24 characters) means that the HARD disk is dead. 305 error would indicate that your hard drive is defective and must be replaced. Please backup your files/data as soon as possible. Is your machine still under warranty? In the affirmative, please call HP for a replacement.

Update: Sorry, I'm a little slow - 3rd opinion then.

    Kind regards.

  • Windows hard disk error message

I just got a strange error message that popped up while I was surfing around Facebook.  Before you do anything, I want to be sure that it is legitimate and not somebody trying to make me install a virus or something like that.  And if it is legitimate, I want to know what I would do to this topic.

    The error message says:

"Windows has detected a hard disk problem.

Back up your files immediately to prevent loss of information, and then ask the computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace the disk. »

Then it gives me two options:

    "Start the backup process."

    "Ask me later".

If the drive fails before the following caveat, you may lose all the programs and documents on the disk. »

So, if I click on the button "Show invisible characters", he says:

    "For immediate action."

Because a disk failure will make you lose all programs, files and documents on the disk, you should back up your important information immediately.  Try not to use your computer until you have repaired or replaced the hard drive.

    Which drive is a failure?

The following hard disks are fault condition:

Name of the disk: Seagate FreeAgent XTreme

    Volume: I:\ »

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit and the hard drive in question is a disk Seagate external, as indicated by the error message.  Also I screenshotted the message box if this description was not good enough.

to keep redundant backups of your important data (use several methods).

I have run chkdsk full and sometimes without error, but at startup it says Smart hard disk error. Press ENTER to continue and it starts OK

Go into the BIOS and run the drive Diagnostics (long version).

Normally, when you get a SMART disk error this means imminent disk failure.  Smart drive test checks the environment of hard disk and is much more than chkdsk thorugh.

A cautious soul would replace the disc if the diagnostic test is a failure.

    Hello!

I'm trying to install Windows on my iMac (late 2013, running 10.11.6) without success.  I created the ISO to a flash drive, but when I try to use the Assistant Boot camp, I am referred to the following screen:

I did my best to study solutions. The cause, by apple support discussions, is that there is another partition of pre-empting (stop) the wizard boot camp partitioning the hard drive.  I studied the partitions on my HDD after unplugging all devices and found this:

This shows the main partition: Macintosh HD, the bootcamp partition: BOOTCAMP; and 2 unknown partitions: "Apple HDD ST100DM003 Media" and the same * M004.  I was able to delete the first Apple ST100DM003 HARD disk partition and ran first aid on the fusion drive after that the second he would not remove.  Also, I can't delete the boot camp partition.  I keep getting the same message when I try to install windows on a partition of the fuser unit using Boot Camp Assistant - "Startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition".
