Error ORA battery 1 555 have I need to worry?

Hi DBAs,

Today morning I received a warning as below:

ORA-error of the stack (1 555) saved in /db_logs/admin/zeus/bdump/alert_zeus2.log

and the content of the journal is:

ORA-01555 caused by the following SQL statement (SQL ID: 5tm5tghm9zgy0, query term s = 103367, SNA: 0x0aee.93eed439):

SELECT THE ROWID IN APP_EVE_AUD WHERE PK_SGDATA_ID IS NULL

I googled about this error and found that its related to cancel retention, as my DB is on 10.2.0.5 version undo management is automatic so do I need to worry about this error?

I'm just curious, because the DB is in a Production environment.

The error is reported by the query:

> SELECT ROWID FROM APP_EVE_AUD WHERE PK_SGDATA_ID IS NULL

What is the table (in terms of bytes and lines)? How long does this query takes to run? How many rows it returns? The frequency at which it runs?

Is the updated table (inserts, updates, deletes) to a very high rate when the query is running?

Is there a way you can avoid this query or part of the application that executes this query?

The error message indicates that the duration of the query was 103, 367seconds who is 28.7 hours. There were bugs in older versions of the 10.2.0.x the length of query reported was incorrect. Therefore, it is best to run the query yourself and check.

The only thing that jumps, is where there the line "Rename city bind...". "I have no idea why is the reference 'P14_RU_TH_ID' in the select clause... it is P26 and was called from P11. In fact I do not understand why the whole of the union everything is generated wit the first part all the field of execept P14_RU_TH_ID NULL.

The other two regions on the page fill/processusent without problem.

Any help would be appreciated. We have improved the production 4.1 over the weekend and users missed test this feature and it is 'critical' (of course).

Additional information: 3

These errors is usually when you have information to controlfile and the file is not physically present.

You can make the foollwoing out of this problem.

Go to primary:

Select the bytes of the log v$.

In standby mode, follow these steps:

SQL > alter system set standby_file_management = manual;

SQL > alter database recover managed standby dadtabase cancel;

SQL > select * v log$;

SQL > select group # from v$ standby_log;

Note all groups the query "v$ standby_log ' and drop them.

alter database drop logfile 10 group;

example: you get as below. then

SQL > select group # from v$ standby_log;

GROUP #.

----------

10

11

12

13

You will need to file 10,11,12 and 13

Once dumped, check that nothing exists in "select group # from v$ standby_log;

Create now your redologfile Eve,

alter database add standby logfile group 10'<>' size 52428800. ---> use your desired location and size copied from the primary database (bytes)

We always recommend, N + 1 mode sleep, we have to redo logfiles, where N is the number of redo log file online in the primary database (each thread).

Once you create minimum 1 standb redo log file, you drop and create online redo log files

Once you fill in for standby and online redo log file, then

SQL > alter system set standby_file_management = AUTO;

SQL > alter database recover managed standby dadtabase disconnect;

All the way, you will need to maintain log_file_name_convert with appropriate values.

NOTE: If you encounter any problem during a fall redo log mode standby, you may need to disappear before the fall.

QL > change the database group claire logfile 3;

Database altered.

SQL > alter database drop logfile Group 3;

Database altered.

Looks like everything is working, but the error is still appearing in OEM primer.

The issue ended up being with the control file. I followed of many blog posts on how to roll forward the database before and they all said to restore the control file before you recover the database. I followed this paper: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28294/rman.htm#CIHIAADC and it worked as expected. The old control file has had 6 data files that were in a different place than the others. The new control file, I created the primary had all the files of data in one place. After correcting the control to point to the locations correct datafile all started working again.

I am trying to create a view. I logged as a DBA. Please suggest.

You must grant the right to SELECT user views the two system.

I'm assuming that "connected is a DBA" means that you granted the DBA role to the user. But you need to grant privileges directly so that they are able to create a view.

Here's a sql query and I am cooking a decoding, but since there are several columns invloved when I try to run it I get the following error:
ORA-01489: result of concatenating string is too long

Any kind of help is appreciated, I need to get it going or I'm dead :(

SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH returns a VARCHAR2 data type. In SQL VARCHAR2 data type is limited to 4000 bytes, then Yes, you will get an error if the data that you generate is greater than 4000 bytes (and I say bytes rather than characters, because if your database uses a multibyte multi character set could be as little as 1000 characters)
