  Received a phone call from someone who has not been named (call from a blocked telephone number) saying that Microsoft would block my computer within 24 hours due to virus, we have been forward to microsoft.  He said we had a laptop and gave us a serial number.  We do not have a laptop.  Was it a scam call or this person really used by microsoft?  He wanted me to enter an address to give him access to my computer.  I refused.  Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

  I received a call from 01619, the appellant had a foreign accent.  They said they had reports of problems with my computer, asked if she had been slow (which it has).

  They said they could help me with the problem.  I asked them how they got my phone #, they said that I have provided it when I registered my microsoft software.  Was still suspicious.  I told them I was not at home and they value once they could remember, when I could be at my computer.  I did not when they were recalled to work, and they left no message.  Was it a legitimate appeal, or some kind of scam to get access to my computer?

  It's a scam. The usual goal is to sell you a plan to fake support but they also your credit card and remote access to your computer at this time. So who knows what they are doing with it.

Then, they control that is given to them for the mouse and seized a lot of information showing me the problems. Then he said warns me on; those pirates I needed a special program. "Alpha PC maintenance" and for 3 years, it would be $ 135. Now I don't know if it was the real scoop or I fell for a big pile of *! I could use the theory, I'm a senior, but I think I should have been smarter. What should I do now that they've been in the pc? Thank you JAFTX

  To add to what you already said, inform your bank company or credit card if you do banking online of any form or if you have given your debit or credit card number to the caller. Do the faster you it, the faster you can arrest the appellant empty your account....

  It is a total scam! Do a search on these forums and you will find a LOT of references. Never leave in your computer.
