Received a phone call from someone who has not been named (call from a blocked telephone number) saying that Microsoft would block my computer within 24 hours due to virus, we have been forward to microsoft. He said we had a laptop and gave us a serial number. We do not have a laptop. Was it a scam call or this person really used by microsoft? He wanted me to enter an address to give him access to my computer. I refused. Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

I fell for what you all seem to feel is a "scam."
I got a call saying they were technical support from Microsoft, they called for my pc was hacked and sent error messages. I was not too su re, but they had me enter a code on the pc, and it showed a list of more than 50 error messages, they said that they had received. Then, they control that is given to them for the mouse and seized a lot of information showing me the problems. Then he said warns me on; those pirates I needed a special program. "Alpha PC maintenance" and for 3 years, it would be $ 135. Now I don't know if it was the real scoop or I fell for a big pile of *! I could use the theory, I'm a senior, but I think I should have been smarter. What should I do now that they've been in the pc? Thank you JAFTXTo add to what you already said, inform your bank company or credit card if you do banking online of any form or if you have given your debit or credit card number to the caller. Anyone has any experience with the aforementioned company? They contacted me by phone, saying that they are working for Microsoft. When I asked the guy on the phone he becomes condescending, flippant and unprofessional, and I sopped the call and, above all, its connection to my pc. Is that bana fide company? Any comment please?

I received a call from 01619, the appellant had a foreign accent. They said they had reports of problems with my computer, asked if she had been slow (which it has).
They said they could help me with the problem. I asked them how they got my phone #, they said that I have provided it when I registered my microsoft software. Was still suspicious. I told them I was not at home and they value once they could remember, when I could be at my computer. I did not when they were recalled to work, and they left no message. Was it a legitimate appeal, or some kind of scam to get access to my computer? It's a scam. The usual goal is to sell you a plan to fake support but they also your credit card and remote access to your computer at this time. So who knows what they are doing with it.

I had problems with the Internet. After many trials and tribulations, I was able to come back.
I received three calls from someone who told me that microsoft has noticed activity too in my computer about this issue.it asked this company to fix the problem. They tell me that it's a company that has been commissioned by Microsoft to do the job.
They called me three times. The first time, they tell me that they are based in California. The second time the same person recalls. Today, some calls from New York. WHST is happening?
Phishng scam!
Never let anything called 'Microsoft Tech' to connect to your computer.
Microsoft does NOT make that.FYI...
Currently, Microsoft only provides a support Forum to help customers.
There is no 'live', e-mail, 'phone' remote, or paid a pension available.
The only support is here on this Forum, nobody can help.*

I received recent phone calls from someone who says they are with Microsoft
I received phone calls recently from a person saying they are with Microsoft and that my computer has been downloading unnecessary files. They claim they know because the error and warning messages are sent to the Inbox of Microsofts. I am reluctant to talk more with them.
How can I be sure of who's calling? In addition, if it is true, how can I check my computer?

A company called vap technology called me last night on my phone at home and said to my computer was about to crash. they were Indian speaking people and said they were working for microsoft support; as I am not a laptop user profficent of long date, I couldn't tell if they were or not. How to get back money from $149, I paid them to fix the problems and how to uninstall the programs they put on my laptop; also what can I use to tell if it's a microsoft technology? Help!
It is a scam. See:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx .
If they have access to your PC, they can install any number of malicious programs. My recommendation is to do a clean reinstall of Windows - it's the only way to be sure that your system is clean.
If you have them paid by credit card, tell your card provider immediately what has happenend.
All the data on your computer (passwords, credit card numbers, numbers of account documents, etc.) may have been compromised (they may not know now). According to the companies concerned (for example your bank) what happened.
Use another PC to change passwords.
Consider telling your local police.

- Hi, I got a call at 6:30 a guy who said he worked for microsoft. He asked me to open a session to a service to make my system more efficient. Well long story short, I didn't know it was legitimate... microsoft make repairs online, right? Surely, a bum like me gets no special treatment?... It was therefore legitimate, or was this something from the other world?
Definitely ~ ~ ~ a VERY BIG SCAM!
If it was me, law enforcement was on his doorstep.
