Error set up a new sync account
As a former user of firefox, that I recently tried to use synchronization to easily manage bookmarks and preferences between my computers.
So I created a sync account on my laptop, but the timing never worked. Instead, my browser displays an error message saying that the synchronization process encountered an "unknown error".
When I tried to sync my other computer with this account of synchronization newlly created, I got only the supposedly 'no account name' error messages (yesterday) or 'misconfigured server' (today).
I also tried to reset the synchronization settings on the 'main' computer (the one used to create the account initially), but I could never reconnect again to the account by using the account name, password key and sync. All I could get was the same error messages as those I had when trying to synchronize other computers.
If I try to create a new account using a different email address, I also get an error message saying "unknown error" when I try to enter a new email address to use.
If I try to delete the first account that I created on the account management page, I get a different kind of error message saying "Oh dear." Looks like one of the dinosaurs has escaped again. Keep away us them data, which should be safe. "Please try again later when we fought him on the treadmill.
I'm surprised to observe that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING seems to work with Firefox Sync for me so far. I was used to a lot more reliably on the Mozilla products and services. I just hope someone has a solution to this problem, but I see on this forum that a lot of people seem to have unsolved problem of the same type recently...

It seems that your account is totally corrupted and because of the bug affecting the account deletion, you are in a bind. I hope that all related bug should be fixed soon.

I've just set up a new user account for someone else, but now I can access is no longer my own user account that had all of my files, pic, and setting. How can I get this back account that has all my files on it?
Initially, you were using the original built-in Administrator account. When you do this and create a new user, the built in Administrator account becomes hidden (but it's still there). It seems that you are OK with that, but you want your files transferred to your new user profile. In this case, you must follow the same procedure as you would if the old profile was corrupted. To claim that the administrator account has been corrupted, and then follow the steps in the following article:

Hello! I'm late to the party, but I hope it could help you or other users which can read this.
This workaround is for those who have not yet upgraded to the latest Firefox 28.0 and still have their original Firefox profile. What you can do is:
- Save your history & bookmarks with MozBackup.
- Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox.
- Restore with MozBackup Firefox profile.
In this way, your Firefox history and bookmarks are available in the latest Firefox browser. Then simply sign up for the new Firefox Sync account and synchronize your data again.

I'd love to connect to eliminate the account - except - I don't know what password etc, she managed to get his hands on & with TI - I'm dead in the water! After more than 12 hours of frustration in dealing with this - including HP support - I got it. Taken technology to throw the whole system and start again. Good enough for a computer bought Wednesday am & dumped Fri! The kitten is fine - my mood is painfully tense. Recently, I tried to set up a new user account for my fiancé on windows vista (64-bit). I have never tried to create a user account on this PC before, but did it often on other systems.
The account seems to be created very well, but when you try to log on to her computer freezes on the 'welcome' or 'office preparation' steps log in. I tried to delete the user account and making it once more. The same thing happens when I turn on the guest account. My account 'admin' of origin works fine, but the problem persists or not the new user is "admin" or not.
Can access other accounts in Mode safe, I don't know what to do from there to solve the problem. To retry again in normal mode the computer freezes.
No error message is displayed. The PC becomes totally unresponsive to everything I tried - Ctrl + Alt + Delete or keep the keys F for example. The only way to restart seems to turn the unit off. The gel lasts indefinitely (I tried to leave during the night and in the morning it's the same thing).
Your help will be massively appreciated!

1. start the computer in safe mode.

2 disable all non-Microsoft programs. Try the following steps.
a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

Hi cloudinoakland, go to Preferences > tools > synchronize and untie your device. You should then get the opportunity to implement synchronization and create a new account again.

I use successfully sync on my work PC, a laptop at home and my iPhone. But I can't seem to set up on a new PC. I always get an error of unknown account, if I try to send my password or request a password reset.
Mozilla has dropped support for "FirefoxHome" on some time iOS devices there.
If you have a sync account when you have an iPhone connected to this account, you probably use the version pre-Firefox sync with a 3rd party app 29 [bookmarks-On-The-Go] -? on the iPhone - as well as older versions of Firefox on the working PC and the laptop at home.

Even if you use the same email address the two synchronize the old and the new are separated. As long as you are sure that all devices use new synchronization then the old one is no longer necessary.
