I went to set up a new user account, but it deleted my old one with all my files. What can I do?
I've just set up a new user account for someone else, but now I can access is no longer my own user account that had all of my files, pic, and setting. How can I get this back account that has all my files on it?
Initially, you were using the original built-in Administrator account. When you do this and create a new user, the built in Administrator account becomes hidden (but it's still there). It seems that you are OK with that, but you want your files transferred to your new user profile. In this case, you must follow the same procedure as you would if the old profile was corrupted. To claim that the administrator account has been corrupted, and then follow the steps in the following article:
"How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile"

I created a new user account for my admin account. I tried to create a standard account and I tried to change to an administrator account. The only place that this account presents itself is managing it new user accounts in Control Panel. If I try to change user or sign out and then sign back, it never gives me the possibility to sign until the new user account that I created.
I read another post that said to try to restart in safe mode, what I tried without success.
I also don't get no error messages, so I was not trying to fix anything, given that I'm not sure it's broken and I don't want to do something worse. I only use this computer and Vista for a few days now, so I hope it's something simple I'm missing because I am not yet familiar with the operating system.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

kitten set up a new user account and password. Now, I can't change or get rid of it
How can I know that to fix this if I use this thing? One of its 9 lives is in danger! Also-how can I get rid of any sign in stuff?
badkitten parent
Peacelily,
I'd love to connect to eliminate the account - except - I don't know what password etc, she managed to get his hands on & with TI - I'm dead in the water! After more than 12 hours of frustration in dealing with this - including HP support - I got it. Taken technology to throw the whole system and start again. Good enough for a computer bought Wednesday am & dumped Fri! The kitten is fine - my mood is painfully tense. I would put him in the House of the dog with the exception of this factor formidable "kindness". Guess I'll call the problem solved
Thank you very much

'Creative cloud' is working on a new admin account but not not in old account admin
Hey community,.
As my "Adobe Creative Cloud" was no longer working (not able to connect) on my old admin account.
Adobe told me to create a new admin on 'El Capitan' account.
Working on the new creative cloud account.
(Adobe told me that there is a configuration problem on the old account)
I would like to know
- How can I detect what's the difference in configuration between the two account?
or - How can I migrate all the settings and my old account to the new facilities?
Purpose:
I have a different software on my old account that I use for my work; VMware Fusion 8, different browsers, printer software, tools etc.)And also the settings...
(I obviously don't want to use my old account for everything and have to switch to the new account just for the creative cloud...)
Plan:
I can either migrate all the settings from the old account to the new or detect the problem in configuration in my old account.
Kind regards
Adobe Creative Cloud ran after the new update of El Capitan.

Good people you've heard of this one before:
I can connect to my basic admin account, but not others. I tried to create new user accounts after you delete the old user accounts but system would not apparently carry out process. I get the following warning:
Service user profile Service failed to connect
User profile cannot be loaded.I tried all of the recommended patches (see list below)
1 ran all appropriate steps as stated in the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215 - no joy
There is not other profiles listed in the register except the administrator account on the basis and since I couldn't connect successfully to a user apparently newly created accounts, the profile has not completed the process of generation.2. I have not ran the SFC system - no joy. He replied with the following: Windows Resource Protection did not find any breach of integrity.
Then... of other big ideas?
Oh
Running Win 7 with all latest updates (login problem is not a new problem according to my children - I just got back from the extended learning this persistent problem)
I am on an Intel machine running dual quad core which is only 6 months old.
I run MS Office 2010Hello
I suggest you to consult the steps mentioned in the link and check if it helps.

Cannot create a new user account
Hello and good evening,
I have a laptop HP Pavilion I've had for about a month. I was creating a HP recovery disk. As I didn't have the right amount of available disks, I cancelled it. The next time I went to do the same thing, there was a message in the HP support assistant saying that the recovery disk was no longer available. So I created an image of the system in case I ever needed to recover my OS. It was stored on drive C. I copied and pasted into the recovery d drive [I don't know if you can do].
Anyway, some things have changed after I created the image of the system. The C: disk OS folder has been renamed Windows C:.
I felt a little uncomfortable about the whole, so I thought that I create another user account. Hoping that this would also restore my HP Recovery disk.
In any case, I went to do this and all seems to be OK, install applications and so on, until he came to a blue screen that says "Please wait". He remained on the screen for about 2 hours, after which the battery was flat. I repowered it and he started upward. He returned the same screen. I took the battery and plugged a USB based recovery disk. This led me to the Welcome screen, and I could log into my original user account.
I'm not game to try again to create another user account in case something terrible happens and it does not restart.
What should I do?
1. create another user account give back me my recovery drive originalHP?
2 could have another go to make him a corruption on my hard drive?
I don't know if it's an HP or a problem of Windows 8, so I posted both.
I hope someone can help
Chris
Hi jcdck,
I see that you have some problems with your recovery disk. Create a new user account won't get your recovery disk. The same file structure will be implemented regardless of the user account. You should not generally be copy or save anything on the recovery disk.
You should be able to restore your PC to factory settings , but you need to back up personal files on an external drive or burn to a CD. It might not get your recovery back disc because this isn't the Windows function of HP.
Your only other option is to order the recovery CD for your model. If you can provide me with your product number I should be able to get your link to order. Are which country you located?
Thank you

Recently, I tried to set up a new user account for my fiancé on windows vista (64-bit). I have never tried to create a user account on this PC before, but did it often on other systems.
The account seems to be created very well, but when you try to log on to her computer freezes on the 'welcome' or 'office preparation' steps log in. I tried to delete the user account and making it once more. The same thing happens when I turn on the guest account. My account 'admin' of origin works fine, but the problem persists or not the new user is "admin" or not.
Can access other accounts in Mode safe, I don't know what to do from there to solve the problem. To retry again in normal mode the computer freezes.
No error message is displayed. The PC becomes totally unresponsive to everything I tried - Ctrl + Alt + Delete or keep the keys F for example. The only way to restart seems to turn the unit off. The gel lasts indefinitely (I tried to leave during the night and in the morning it's the same thing).
Your help will be massively appreciated!
Chris
Hi Chris,In addition to the suggestion of Michael Murphy. Try the following. You are able to connect to an account in safe mode, there must be some programs that are unable to laod. We recommend that you try the following steps.Step 1: Safe mode.
1. start the computer in safe mode.
Start your computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
2 disable all non-Microsoft programs. Try the following steps.
a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
b. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)
c. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
d. click OK, click on restart and try to sign in to a user account (not in safe mode).Step 2: If you are able to connect to a user account by disabling all non-Microsoft programs, find out who is causing the problem.
Read the following article and follow step 2 to step 6 to determine which is the origin of the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
When you have found the culprit, check if there are any patches or updates available for this purpose.Step 3: Start the computer in normal mode.
1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart. For more information, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Kind regards

the profile user account folder can be renamed instead of create a new user account
I noticed this issue posted everywhere that none got the answer, the person posting was looking for. Basically, the question is "can the folder of the user profile account be renamed? '... I have the same problem. I sent a PC in for repair. They reloaded the operating system and created the new test user account. Rather than just create a new user account, I've renamed the test NAME user account. I couldn't help but notice later that user account folder name has remained the same "TEST". That's why you have people to ask the question "can the folder of the user profile account be renamed instead of create a new user account." It of an easy fix but does not answer the question.
It is not usually. If you have a computer, why not have just him take care of it for you instead of friction top yourself? ;-)
Try this instead if you really must do it yourself:
1. create a new administrator account. Call it 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar. You definitely want to have an administrative user account like this set up that you will use not except for emergency situations. You will use this in the elevation of privileges in your daily report - which will be a Standard account - but will not need to connect to CompAdmin after that company copy unless something goes terribly wrong. ;-)
2. create a new user account Standard for your daily work. This called something that makes you happy. I don't know your real name, so I'll call it "HDXer". Connect to HDXer to create the profile files/folders.
3. connect to CompAdmin and:
a. Control Panel > everything on the control panel > Folder Options
b. click on the view tab, click hidden files and folders, clear the Hide protected operating system files check box and then click OK. Now you can see everything.
c. using Windows Explorer ("computer"), search for the file C:\Users\Test.
d. Select all files and folders in this folder, except the following files: Ntuser.dat, Ntuser.dat.log and Ntuser.ini.
e. click on the Edit menu and then click on copy. If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.
f. Locate the C:\Users\HDXer folder.
g. click the Edit menu and then click on paste. If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.
Sign out and then sign back in as a HDXer. All your stuff should be there. You need to configure your icons and wallpaper (Control Panel > Personalize) and some preferences have been postponed, but really with the exception of the email all your data, Favorites, etc., should now be at the HDXer.
If you have messages in an e-mail program, such as Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird or Outlook, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. Because I don't know what you use for email, I can't give you the details about it. If everything is working properly, you can remove the old Test profile by using the user accounts applet in Control Panel. It won't hurt anything to make you leave the trial on the system for a while, or even forever.

I tried to create a new user account, but I get the following error when I try to open a session with him:
the user profile service service has no logon
Until I leave than anything more I will add that I activated the hidden administrator account and this is the account I use to create a new standard user account.
Most of the patches for this issue are due to the fact that delete manually a user account does not remove the registry key that are associated, and you are required to go to the next section of the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\PROFILELIST
and delete the key associated with the user account to be deleted.
This fix IS NOT help, because whenever I try to create a new user, Windows doesn't bother creating a registry key to the new user. The new user account appears in the account management window. If I right click ondesktop and select Properties, then the settings , select the Advanced tab and click settingsunder USER PROFILES, the new account appears not here no more.
It is a huge problem. I have other people who use this laptop and I don't want to use my login information, or the guest account. I'm not editing the registry just to make a new account.
Please tell me there is a fix for this that works. Windows 7 was not free, and this kind of problem is very frustrating for the premium software.
Thanks - this is the only tip that help me to find the solution to this problem.
Two files in the folder C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live could not be copied without administrator privileges. This caused the connection in the attempt fail for all newly created user accounts. The files are:
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\Bici1_00.sqm
and
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi\SqmData720896_00.sqm
I've added the read permission for all users in these two files and retried the logon. The opening of session proceeded set up initial user and filled perfectly. Probably, this problem started when I installed Windows Live Messenger which is the only Windows Live application, I installed.
Other important in your message board was to check the event log which stressed the two files which could not copy. Otherwise provided in WARNING messages immediately preceded files event log error message indicates that the profile service could not connect.

How can I create a new user account any movement towards it and delete the old
Win7 need to create a new user ACCT. move all the Info for it because want to rename the computer, and then delete the old user account
To create a new user profileTo create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.
Open a user account by clicking on the button start , by clicking on the Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
Click on manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click on create a new account.
Type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.
To copy files to the new user profileAfter creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.
Log on as a user other than the new user that you created or the user that you want to copy the files.
Open Documents by clicking on the button start , and then clicking Documents.
Click on the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
If you don't see the Tools menu, press ALT.
Click the view tab, click hidden files and folders, clear the Hide protected operating system files check box, and then click OK.
Find the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed, and where ancien_nom_utilisateur represents the name of the profile you want to copy the files to.
Select all the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:
Ntuser.dat
Ntuser.dat.log
Ntuser.ini
Click the Edit menu and then click on copy.
If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.
Look for the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where C represents the drive Windows is installed, and New_Username is the name of the new user profile you created.
Click the Edit menu and then click on paste.
If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.
Sign out and then sign back in as a new user.
If you have messages in e-mail, such as Windows Mail, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. If everything is working properly, you can delete the old profile.

Microsoft Office not installed in the new user account
I recently installed Microsoft Office 2013 month last on my Windows 7 PC. A few days ago, I created a new user account, but for some reason, Microsoft Office is not installed on this account. It still works fine on other accounts of 2 user on my PC, but it's just a nuisance to have to switch between user accounts to use Office. Is anyway to fix this? I tried to fix it on my account, but nothing seems to have happened.
On Windows, applications are installed in all accounts. You will find some MS Office by clicking on the Globe to start / all programs, and then scroll down.
