I bought a new HP Touch-Smart 300 running Windows 7 and when I try to restore the files I saved on my external hard drive on my Sony Vaio which ran Widows Vista and which were backed up by using WINDOWS LIVE ONE care (that I now here will not be supported more after my purchase of 66 dollars). Vista 32 bit does not display the Epson NX230, but I can use the scanner of this part.
I just bought an Epson NX230 because my ip2600 canon is not print anything. When I load & install Epson the O. S says it is not found. It's an all in one and I can use the scanner. I tried to uninstall the old driver but the comp is suspended.
Any ideas?

Why can I not use the scanner function if my ink cartridges are not installed properly?
The scanner allows just as one scanner I have another product of HP that I use for my printing needs? My all in one (C4580) there is an error that indicates that the ink cartridges have not been installed correctly. I have not used this printer as printer in a long time, but use it as my primary scanner. Is there anyway I can overide the "Cartridghe Print badly installed" so I can use the scanner function? Thank you for your help

With most of the printers HP if there is a visible error on the printer screen it only lets not to copy, scan or fax.

2. do you get any error code or error message?
3. what security software is installed on your computer?
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Disable the security software and check if the problem persists.
Disable the antivirus software:

TWAIN is an old scanner interface. OS X now use ICA, Architecture (?) of Capture of Image.
Never seen this message, but I guess that means Capture of Image is using the scanner, or is configured to use the scanner and it is not necessary for the third party software. You open picture Capture, or did the scanning software provided with the scanner by Epson?

I use Windows XP and care April 2014 if I always use the it, what will happen after that Microsoft no longer supports it? My computer will become unusable? It works great and I would keep it if I can. I use a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop. Some people have told me that "nothing will happen" and others tell me that my computer will be more vulnerable. I use ESET NOD 32 and Malwarebytes. They tell me that they should still continue to work. I am told that because my computer was purchased in September 2008, he cannot me upgraded to Windows 7. I'm not a geek and would need assistance "passage" my files from one computer to the other as well. And then what to do with my old top office. I'm very worried and I had to face the fact that Microsoft is not going to deliver any security updates patches after April of 2014.
I can't wait to hear from someone on this problem and more just to go out and invest in Windows 8! Thank you.
I can tell you one thing, all or almost of windows xp device drivers will disappear from the computer manufacturers support websites and will reappear on all these shady sites who claim to be download for free but comes with unwanted software. Download the latest device drivers and keep several copies of them and download them to your skydrive or dropbox account fo guard.
I doubt that will happen. I've seen Windows 2000 drivers still on websites mfg.

In looking at RSOP (resultant set of policy) shows that the local and domain administrator users have full control over these files. I tried this using the two connections to user with the same result.

The PDF button does not work since I use the scanner with an ASUS i5 running Win 7 Ultimate desktop computer. I downloaded the 64-bit Epson software for the scanner.
I found the solution to the problem, and it is indeed with the revised in Windows 7 Control Panel.

I have an Epson Perfection 1640SU. My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Epson does not a driver for 64-bit. If I install Windows XP mode, I will be able to download the driver of Epson XP and use this scanner?
Best way for you is to use Vuescan. I use it in conjunction with a Canon Lide 30 and it works very well...
