ERROR: Windows could implement < name > (ad hoc)... error saying '"windows could not configure wifi'

I'm not able to create an ad-hoc in my dell windows 7.

He demonstrated an error saying "'windows could not configure wifi', where wifi is the name of my adhoc network."
Kindly help.

Hey Monty,

What version of Windows 7 are you running?

Go in Start > run and type winver to know. You must run Windows 7 Home Premium or higher in order to create an ad hoc network. Windows 7 Starter Edition cannot act as a server/host adhoc.

I suggest you try the steps from the following link on how to create the ad hoc network.

Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network

    Hello

Your error message, the problem is probably caused by BIOS or DVD settings or bad cabling to SATA hard drive. Please do the following to narrow down because of the problem.

    (a) ensure that all laptops the same hardware, the same manufacturer and the same model.

    (b) upgrade the BIOS to the latest version; go into the BIOS and enable "Load Fail - Safe Defaults".

    Warning of the BIOS:

  • Windows Setup could not configure Windows on hardware of this computer Installation error on the new hard drive

Okay so if please bear with me and be patient.  I'm not tech savvy.  I know enough to be able to remove an old hard drive and put another one, but when there are errors, I don't know what to do.

    Here's the situation.

I have a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 installed.  I started having these notifications that my hard drive could be a failure.  I tried everything that I could find to fix it without having to buy a new HARD drive without success.  The current system has a 1 TB Seagate hard drive.  I installed a memory additional bar thingie right after that I got the computer about 4 years ago.  (If someone tells me how to find the properties of real system, I post them if necessary).  Anyway, I bought a new WD 1 TB black disk hard to install before my old dies and loses all my photos and documents, etc...

I took the old drive yesterday and installed the new hard drive.  I put back the case and turned on the machine.  I put in my Windows 7 installation disc.  He began installing Windows 7... It's completely past the initial screen where it says it to load it and the other... I had accepted the license agreement, but did not have to make a profile and do the work and the reader.  I hope all this makes sense.  Then it pops up this message "installing Windows could not set up Windows on hardware on this computer."  I couldn't figure out what to do from there.  I got the new drive and put the old one back to and here I am. I tried to find solutions to this problem, but I either don't can't make heads or tails out of the responses on the internet or the solution is not exactly my problem.

Please help if you can!  And if you have any suggestions, please dumb them down so I can understand what to do.  I CAN do if loaded, you just have to not talk too irritable.  Laughing out loud

    Thank you in advance!

    Maybe not...

The Windows installation is not happy about something, and since it gets at least started which is a good thing, but your installation problem can not really be with Windows - perhaps something about Dell hardware or your 1 TB HARD drive.

I looked at your system and found this article that you can read to see if it sounds like your original question:

Windows Setup could not configure Windows on hardware on this computer.

    http://www.Dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN293812/en

Since Dell has written an article for help on this subject, it means they've met enough times to take the time to compose the article and put it on their WWW site (but, they say, it is a possible resolution).

Could you take the issue in the Dell online community where experts hang out (especially your amber light).

Another good place for support is www.bleepingcomputer.com where there is a similar topic as your question (except Vista) on a Dell and a new disk of 1 TB (also a Seagate) and Dell ideas did not work, but someone else has found a way to fix it:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/453378/installation-fails-to-complete-on-new-HDD/

The bleepingcomputer for your error message search reveals other areas and people who have got things to work in different ways, then it is perhaps another place to look for ideas.

If the installation still fails it would not hurt to do the BIOS setting and see if things are getting longer, and since you are going to write the current settings before proceeding with the adjustment you can always cancel the adjustment if things get worse.

  • Replacing hard drive, made restoration of the factory, get the message error "installing windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

    OS = Windows 7

    Computer = Gateway FX6840
    Media = gateway recovery media
Hard drive is set to AHCI in BIOS

I started meeting with S.M.A.R.T. errors.

    I backed up my data.

I replaced 1 TB Seagate original with a new 2 hard drive to Seagate Barracuda SATA STBD2000101. Computer is equipped also is from the factory... no additional or modified facilities.

I tried to restore Windows 7 from the rescue of the disks created with the "Gateway Recovery Management"

Windows copying files over, the machine restarts, it installs the devices, then it stops at the "installation program starts services" and a window opens with the message "windows Setup could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer.

I can't apply the Article ID: 2466753 because the process of restoration of the plant seems not provide an option to load a driver .

Any help would be appreciated... Gateway is only interested to collect money.  They have no interest in serving the poor suckers who buy their products (computer is 2 years old so it is out of warranty).

    Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately, I solved the problem myself (after 19 hours of stress).
The problem is that the recent hard disk has something different that no longer ages and makes pre-service pack 1 (SP1 solves the problem) versions of Windows 7 incompatible. My set of recovery disks have been created the day I bought the computer, which had no windows updates installed at the time.

There is an "easy solution" on the Microsoft support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us

Unfortunately, their method works only if you have a Windows 7 installation disc, which does most of the people who buy computers pre-built manufacturers. Essentially, the solution is to install SP1 from a disc when don't give you the possibility to load drivers during installation, an option that the gateway recovery disks.

So I thought that, theoretically, if I use my recovery discs to get a clean install on a hard drive that works, then use windows update to get updated (or at least to get SP1), and then make a set of NEW recovery disks (using windows backup: start > all programs > maintenance > Backup and Restore), I should be able to use these discs to install the new hard disk.

    It worked.

So for someone else who has this same problem with new hard disks, I hope that the above is easy to understand. If not, ask someone else more savvy and show them this thread. Do not forget that at the end to create new recovery disks, it will ask you if you also want to create a 'system' repair disc. DO THIS! This is the disk that you need to start from when you are ready to install.

Also: If your new hard drive is bigger than the one that you have created the new recovery disks, the partition on your new hard drive (once everything is installed) will be the same size as the one that you have created the records on. You will need to use a kind of editor of score for re - size. I recommend Gnome Partition Editor. http://www.gparted.org

Burn gparted Live CD and him, resize your partition, and you're done (google for more in-depth instructions).

Thank you, theloungelizardK, for the offer on the ISO, but I don't need. :)

I tried to install Windows 7 on my computer for the last day and after several attempts the same error message. It is said: "Windows Setup could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer." How would I go about fixing this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello:

I'm not sure that there is a 'one size fits all' answer to this problem, if you google the error.

The most common solution is to try to install the SATA driver.

Here is the link to the SATA drivers you need for your model. Download and extract to a usb flash drive.

First file listed is for 64-bit operating systems.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&DwnldID=22194&ProdId=2101&lang=eng&OSVersion... =

Use the Drive Options - Advanced method to install and then select the option load a driver.

If you check the box, only the compatible SATA driver is selected.

    See if it works.

The only thing I changed hardware wise is the hard drive, so this error message seems silly because Windows runs on this material.  I even double checked that Vista is always enabled.  Anyone out there have any ideas?

    My laptop configuration:

By default the operating system: Win7

    Hello:

If you use an ordinary W7 installation DVD and use no recovery disc, the most common cause of this error is the lack of SATA drivers.

Download and extract these files on a usb flash drive. First file listed is for W7 64 bit.

    https://downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&Keyword=Intel+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST) & lang = fra

Plug the flash drive into your laptop and start your installation of W7 DVD.

When you get to install it now click on that and click the option advanced player options.

Then choose load a driver.  You should now see all the sata on your USB drivers.

You can check a box and it will include the compatible sata driver to install.

Proceed from there, and I hope that will install W7.

  • "Installation of Windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I recently released and bought 4 hard to present itself as a raid 10 disks, now I use my motherboards onboard fakeraid an ihc10r. The cables are fine and when I try and install windows 7 (64 x pro) on each disk with raid and ahci disabled in the bios, windows installs fine. Now when I raid raid 10 disks windows install can see the drive and even then, I load the drivers just to be sure that iastor.sys etc. (I tried with and without) is the same every time after the first reboot, I get about 10 minutes and 2 minutes after the resolution of the screen is adjusted BOOM "installation of windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

First of all, then someone please help me get windows installed on my raid?

Second, microsoft, your error messages leave much to be desired, it does not yet add a message in the Setup error log.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I did a memtest and it happened, I also have the piece of garbage jmicron on my MB off the power. In addition, the facility produces when the SATA controller is in AHCI mode, BUT not in raid mode.

Seems to me that if the software/driver is not compatible Windows 7. Also if any of the readers have reminants of your installation for each individual unit, Windows 7 may not be able to deal with formatting during the installation process. Try to download CD bootable diagnostic of the manufacture in car and do two things.

    (1) check each drive individually for issues.

    (2) wipe the drive (WD can for example remove the first and last part of the training which completely removes the MBR and other reminants for the final result is the drive looks like you just removed from the box and plugged in for the first time.)

    Hello:

You cannot change the drive controller setting in the BIOS on any HP laptop consumers made in the last 5-6 years.

  • Windows will not configure my computer from recovery disks...

I have a HP desktop computer and my hard drive failed.  I bought a new hard drive.  I tried to reinstall windows on the new drive using the recovery discs, I did when I first bought my computer.  It goes through the process of formatting and installation. Start Windows configure my computer.  After a few minutes, I get a message box saying "Windows can not configure your equipment for this computer."  When I click on the 'OK' button, my computer restarts and the process begins again. What should I do to make this work?

    Hello

This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot distinguish between ambiguous hard disks.

In versions of Microsoft Windows Setup that are prior to the installation of Windows Vista, the hard disks are marked with distinct values to distinguish them. However, this method of distinction between the drives is no longer supported due to the risk of corruption of data on hard disks.
