  I need help, adding new views to an existing .csc file.
  
  Here's the process:
  (1) after the cube query tracking data loading is enabled
  (2) users run their extract
  (3) aggregation is registered and new views are added to the points of view existing in the file
  
  The MaxL I have for step 3 is:
  run overall selection on the basis of data application.database based on dump query_data to view_file myviewfile;
  
  The following error message is displayed with this script:
  [Viewfile] already exists
  Unexpected error Essbase 12141180
  
  What should I do to add views to the existing file?

  I think you can use "force_dump".

  We are loading data from oracle to target Essbase cube table. How to manage ODI loading data to add to rather than replace the last value?
  
  Ex: We have the data source with the mapping of M:1, so we court statement case [case when the Group has, B, C and D] is there a setting in ODI who allows to add (add) instead of overwrite data?
  
  Currently, the value of data in C is loaded into D instead of A + B + C in D.

  You can put the CASE WHEN, in the mapping target and continue to use a rule to load a load rule has nothing to do with what you are doing in target mappings.

• Essbase "add to the existing values.

  It must add value to data Essbase using ODI.

  In your interface and under the IKM "IKM SQL for Hyperion Essbase (data") there is an option for a rule to load "RULES_FILE".
  This means that you can use a rule to support essbase, in the State of charge you can set under "Data loading settings" > "add to the existing values.

• Enabling a hybrid analysis in Essbase Add-in

  I create a cube with members selected for the analysis of the hybrid. When I try to set options to allow analysis of the hybrid, the option is grayed out. I'm going to Essbase-> Excel add-in options. The Essbase configuration file identified to allow analysis of the hybrid. are there separate config or properties for Excel Add-in file, and do we need to allow hybrid analysis it. Can someone help me.

  The only thing I can think of is in the Excel Addin options, make sure the tab Mode you have selected ' advanced Interpretation' and NOT 'free form '.

• Add-in Essbase EssvGetMemberInfo equivalent to SmartView

  Hi everyone, is there a vba function in SmartView 11 k 2 equivalent to Essbase Add-in function EssvGetMemberInfo.
  In words, I mean that if you use EssvGetMemberInfo to '6' as an action parameter, the function will return an array of strings that contains the same members of generation than those passed as in parameter (mbrName). Is this correct?
  I guess that in SmartView there not a function that does the same thing directly.
  I thought working with HypFindMember, but as this function just returns that the tor of the input member, an array member info must be created and memberinfo must be retrieved for each of the siblings of the desired member (the Member of the Essbase addin function entry).

  HypQueryMembers wouldn't do what you want?

  It sounds exactly like EssVGetMemberInfo, into the number 6 is the same generation.

• Essbase Spreadsheet Add-in

  I'm starting to wonder if I have same worksheet Essbase add-in installed with my installation and configuration of the EPM 11 system. When I open Excel (Office 2007 with the menu Ribbon format), there is a tab that says 'Hyperion', which has an option of data source Manager which allows to connect to three things: Oracle BI Server (which I can't actually connect to at the moment), Oracle Essbase (which will connect to the Essbase server where I can review all of the data from the sample applications as Sample.Basic from the example of the beverage company that came with the installation) and Oracle Hyperion Planning (which allows me to display my planning application data forms. My question is - all the documentation, and the book "Look smarter than you are with Essbase, speaks an Essbase menu added to Excel using the spreadsheet Add-in, but I have not especially Essbase menu. Mine says Hyperion on it, and some of these menu options are slightly different from those explained in the guides. Should I still the right product? I think I can just watch Essbase database through Smart View? Does anyone know the directory to the folder where the Add-in Essbase spreadsheet?

  It seems to me that using Smart View is Oracle move as an excel add-in and that's what will grow in the future.
  The classic excel addin is still available for V11 but will not continue to develop. In the installation of the EMP, he reports to the excel customer option.

  I try to get some data from an essbase cube. In Excel, I used the essbase add with the function 'esscell() '.

• Classic connection Add-In does not work - db selection did not get recognized.

  Hi all

  With my client, many users work with the classic Essbase Add-In on their computers. The Add-In is distributed and installed with a software package. Out of these facilities, a machine makes problems. Excel version 2010 begins and the Addin too. Then under Add-Ins > Essbase > Connect the login window appears. The user name and password are given and OK button. See a list of Applications and databases. When a database is selected and you press the OK button, the selection changes to the database at the top of the page and the window does not disappear.

  This also happens with another user that can run on a different machine (so no access rights).

  The Add-in is turned off and on again. Problem stays.

  All other add-ins are disabled. Problem stays.

  Anyone seen elsewhere or have a suggestion?

  Saw this problem occurs when there is a space at the end of the name of the server, for example

  "my.essbase.server" (the quotation marks to highlight where space is) caused the behavior that you describe.  We found that some microsoft products copy happily a space at the end when copy and pasted from outlook or word or etc... So we always adovate by manually typing in the name of the server

  Let me know if this helps - took us forever to understand.

• Unable to see Essbase App to Smartview

  I'm new on Essbase, so I apologize if this is a silly question. I created a new application of Essbase, but I can't see in Smartview (using version 11.1). Connections common provider does not update the list based on the new application. I know that I have created/deployed the application properly (in fact it with help from anyone Essbase). This same person did not work with 11 too and couldn't help.
  
  However, I am able to see and connect to the application using the Essbase Add-in old.
  
  I want to trigger something else the new application will appear in the common provider connection.

  Generally, when you can't see an application in Smartview is because you have your selector value predefined or Favorites. Change at all and see if that makes a difference.

• Essbase Excel error: install the COM component.

  I am facing problem in essbase excel plug-in software component. I am using MS excellent worm 2002 SP3. After the connection to the database essbase via software component excel plug-in, when I double click on cell A1 in excel, it tries to install the COM component http://activex.microsoft.com/objects/ocget.dll and after that the screen each time, nothing coming.
  
  Even if I want to get the names of members of essbase through "member selection" Add essbase, he does things as usual, but no member name appears in excel.
  
  After you uninstall and reinstall the essbase add in(i.e. the analytic server client) atleast 2 or 3 times, no solution came.
  
  Could someone help me with these questions. Please return back as soon as possible.

  Is it possible that the combination is be the first record? If so, I would say that check properties of the Data Source of the rule of your load for a definition header which is not matched correctly (i.e. the number of lines to skip = 1, whereas it should be 0).

  It is the only reason I could imagine that a combination of record is not loaded in a load rule by also valid.

• The SmartView API migration

  I'm working on an application that requires the functions to be replaced by the SmartView functions so that the Application is compatible with the SmartView Essbase Add-in existing APIs.

  In the current version of the application that is to be migrated a method that essvgetmemberinfo is used which, now, I want to replace with the appropriate function of Smartview. I see 3 methods in the API for SmartView, but I'm not sure that to use in the Application.

  Please tell me which method should I use for the app to become compatible with the SmartView.

• Urgent question - please help

  I am facing a problem with a business rule. The problem is that the business rule is NOT seen and acting on all the intersections, which are the result of the correction, I used even if these intersections meet the condition of the rule and must be calculated. For the most part, these intersections account already have a number in there and which must be calculated and replaced by another number according to the rule, but they are not. This is not case will be all intersections, but with some of them. In addition, some of these intersections have #missing inside for one of the accounts on the accounts of three being calculated in the rule. The account dimension is a dimension that is dense.
  
  Another thing I noticed is if I go manually and enter any number of Essbase Add-in in one of these same hubs, lock and send and then switch back to the old value and then run again, the rule that intersection is considered and the number is have replaced the number I wanted to it. Would it be because of the problem of block - dirty/clean concept?
  
  What could be the possible causes for this to happen? What are the solutions? Any help is appreciated.

  ^ ^ ^ Smart Calc can be tricky. Have you tried with SET UPDATECALC OFF? Also (for fun, not that it matters) SET AGGMISSG ON. And finally (oh, why don't I just list this out) SET EMPTYMEMBERSETS ON?

  UPDATECALC OFF SET;
  SET AGGMISSG
  SET EMPTYMEMBERSETS

  Try it with those and let us know what happens.
