• Problem with Installation of Console Essbase administration Services

  Hi Experts,
  
  I would like to ask your help in an issue while trying to install Essbase Administration Console service. You will find more details below.
  
  1. I have a Linux to Oracle VM with Essbase server, services foundation, EAS server already installed, but not the console of Regional service.
  2. I downloaded the Regional service console and the installer of the RTO EPM and tried to install the client on my virtual machine.
  3. However, the installer of the EMP is not let me install the console as it is said that "Common components", "product common components" are missing.
  
  Can you help me please let me know if the above meetings are necessary even when you install clients? I was of the view that since the essbase server is already installed, I didn't need them now.

• Essbase Administration Service - create rules SQL file - connection error

  Hello

  I am creating the rules SQL files in Essbase Administration Console.

  When I press the OK/recover button in open SQL data source window I get this error:

  cannot connect to establish a connection with the SQL Server database see log for more information

  I tried the ODBC connections and BEAK .

  When I test the ODBC connection in Windows administrative tools > Data Sources (ODBC) > system DSN, it works correctly. but in open SQL error there.

  I tried two separate databases for my test.

  an Essbase server machine.

  a separate server.

  both give me the same error.

  SRD: 11g R2

  Essbase: 11.1.2

  

  Do you have any suggestions?

  Create the DSN using DataDirect Oracle Wire Protocol 7.0 in (System DSN) ODBC administrators and test the connection of the Rules file. It will work.

  I think that u used Oracle in oracle11glcinet_home

• State of background processes in Essbase Administration Services

  When we submit a script calc for processing in the background rest status 'queued' and will not be processed. I tried to find documents related to this configuration of background processes. I guess we must change a setting in XML file somewhere on the Essbase server. Please let know us if you have knowledge of the location of the documentation or what setting needs to be changed in order to jobs are not queued for processing.

  You are on a version between 9.2 to 9.3.1.2 If the temporary solution is to rename the workstatus.xml file, and then restart the EAS server.

• Cannot connect to Essbase Administration Services using the regional service console.

  Hi all!
  
  We work with the Oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 version and a few days ago our hard drive where are installed the oracle tools became full, breaking all my applications. Since then, we were not able to to connect/start of any application, including the WebLogic Server. In the oracle database, I found a papper «logic of starting web» about me They said that the security file is damaged and I followed the steps to recreate the security file (cwallet.sso) and then all the started application works well except the easconsole. When I try to connect it shows the message "failed to connect".
  
  I would like to say that until the drive became fully all my application worked well. It comes to my development environment. My EAS Server works well because I am able to connect using the easconsole of my production environment.

  I'm a newbie to the Essbase. I'm trying to figure out the difference between the server and Services.I got very confused.
  
  Please clarify my understanding
  
  Essbase server - this is a server where Essbase stores all the data.
  
  Essbase Administration Services - it is an agent used to communicate with the Essbase server from the end before (administration Console)
  
  Admin Console - it is a front-end client used to connect to different servers Essbase. It is possible to have Essbase servers to be installed on different computers.
  
  Before connecting to the client management console, we should make sure Server Essbase and Essbase Administration SErvices are running

  It is not necessary that the server Essbase and EAS are on the same machine.we can add different servers in the Regional service console.

  Regarding your last question (before connecting to the administration console client that we should ensure that Essbase server and Essbase Administration SErvices are up and running)

  Before logon to EA please make sure that this server essbase, openldap and essbase admin services are running

• Cannot open the Essbase administration console

  I found Essbase service runs on my PC and I am able to update the database of the web of planning. But I am unable to open the Regional service console via the web and an open popup with error message "unable to launch the application"

  If you use Java 7 then you will need to patch the EAS, you can also use Java 6

• Essbase Administration Console (EAS) Services using a Web browser

  We installed successfully Essbase 11.1.1.3.
  
  We are logging in Essbase Administration Console (CAS) Services using a Web browser, e.g. Internet Explorer. Select the language and I am able to connect successfully, however, I am not able to see something when I expand Essbase server.
  
  I checked my Java version by going to start-> settings-> Control Panel-> Java. On the Java tab, confirm the run settings and it's Java JRE 1.6.0_22
  
  
  I am able to see all of my applications and databases, when I went into the server of the EAS and connected by going to start-all programs - EPM System - Essbase-console Administartion to start services.
  
  Someone can kindly let me know what is the problem, why I am not able to see anything when I connect to the console using a Web browser.

  11.1.1.3 the JRE plugin support is + 1.5.0_17
  You have 1.6, install 1.5, 1.6 to disable, enable 1.5 and try again.

  Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

  Method 1:  When the "Error 1068" error is logged, view the dependencies for administrative services tab to ensure that the services that rely on administrative services are not stopped. To view the Dependencies tab, follow these steps:

  a. click Start, click run, type services.mscand click OK.

  b. right-click on administrative service you wish to view and then click Properties.

  c. click the dependencies tab.

  If the service that depends on the Administrative function is stopped, right-click the service in the Services console, and then click Start. Then, try again changing administrative service.

  Method 2:  Try the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.

  To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

  a. click Start and click run, then type cmd in the box start the search.

  b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator.

  c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

  d. at the command prompt, the following line and press ENTER:

• The administrative services of the local communities are gone?

  When you pull administrative services. You are in a screen that says local services. There is NOTHING listed. Before it happened there was a lot of things that were available to change.   I have a question about SSPROCROWLIMIT in essbase.cfg vs service.olap.dataQuery.grid.maxRows essbase.properties (services provider configuration file). When assign us some non SSPROCROWLIMIT in essbase.cfg must take the same number of service.olap.dataQuery.grid.maxRows also.

  These settings should not be matching?

  If you do not use repression (and none of your users never use repression) and only use Smart View so I guess that these two parameters might as well be the same. But I doubt there has ever been an Essbase installation where none of the users never used repression, it is not really relevant.

  What I see in real life, it's that people stick with the settings by default until the users are running in one or the other and then change them...

• Invalid IDs APEX Administration services

  I use Application Express 4.1.0.00.32 Oracle Database 10 g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bi
  Until this morning, I was able to open a session of the Services of Directors with no problems, but now the message Invalid Login Credentials is raised.

  Hi Alex,

  If you are looking just for confirmation: Yes, execution apxchpwd sys is the way you should prefer to reset the password for your administrator to instance APEX (Administration Services or internal workspace).

These two environments are different matters and I don't think I can usre LCM. I have Foudataion/Shared Services and Essbase configuration on the Destination host. Can someone guide me how I can move the Essbase/Shared Services in these environment manually. Document refrence or instructions step by step will be very useful.
